Yeah, I did complete some of the mini practice sections in the books and found it to be helpful. Doing full practice tests was more beneficial for me personally, but it varies from person to person :)
i have a question. after each section for ur practice sat's did you score each section after you took them? or would u wait until u finished a whole test and grade the whole thing at once.
I finished the entire test before grading, and that’s what I would recommend. For me, it’s kind of “fun” to grade the tests and see what I got (maybe im just weird), so it kind of motivated me to work hard on them. Also during the actual test, you won’t know immediately which questions you got wrong so it’s good to practice that.
I am taking the SAT for the first time and I am also a senior. I haven't done math in 2 years so I am kind of freaking out. My test date is November 7th. Do you have any tips for studying math?
I would suggest to do as much practice as you can. Also, try to find videos teaching the concepts that will be on the SAT (most of it is basic geometry/algebra). Any time you get a question wrong, redo it until you understand 100% how to do the problem correctly. Good luck!
@@NicoleLerma02 Honestly some parts were confusing in the math section. But other than that it was fine. Although I wish I had more time. In one section I felt a little rushed. But I still completed everything.
@@audreyrose280 Ooh okay! I'm.gonna take mine on Dec 5th, and I suck at math lmao. and i really dont wannw retake it and go through it again yk?? i just want an okay score to get that over with😤😔
I had two strategies that helped me a lot with the reading (plus a bonus tip I'll give you at the end). First, the process of elimination. Cross out answers that seem obviously wrong. Usually, you can cross out 1-2 answer choices, which makes the questions a lot less overwhelming. Second, annotate the passages as you read along. Nothing fancy, I would just jot down little summaries of key points in the passage so I had full comprehension and it made the questions easier. Bonus tip: if you have a few months until your test, READ MORE BOOKS. Seriously, I was able to bring up my 730 reading score to a 780 naturally after reading about 25 books in the span of 9 months. It made the reading section a lot more intuitive and natural.
For reading, what helps for me is to take my time reading the passages and annotating summaries or key points I find while reading it. This helps me be able to have a deeper understanding of the material so when I answer the questions I feel like I know the passage better. Another thing that helped me is just generally reading more books and paying attention in English class so I can learn author's craft, style, etc. Good luck on your test!

Is there a difference in the year the book was made in to study with like for instance one book is from like 2020 would it be the same material as the 2021 tests
so i got 1170 on august 29th test (international) but the scores of those who had their task in Turkey came out later than expected and therefore i missed the deadline for admission for the university i wanted. so i am planning to take May 8th 2021 test. tbh, i don't have money for resources, i only practised on Khan academy and i plan to do so again. Do you think i can get at least 1250-1300 on May 8th test?
Definitely, if you keep studying until May you'll be all set. I didn't spend any money on a tutor either. If you have $15 extra, I'd recommend getting the physical practice book I suggested in this video, but if not, Khan Academy will work well too.

If you have the $15 extra and want to buy the newer book, go for it, but I’m pretty sure it’s the same practice tests in each book. Also, no major changes have been made to the SAT since 2018 so it should be fine.
@@JamieNicholson Thanks💜
How was the result
I have my test tomorrow, hoping to improve my score by 130 points
Good luck!
completely unrelated but your skin is amazinggg
I’m in 8th grade and I want to start studying for SAT early, how long do you suggest I study daily specifically on SAT and which book do you suggest I get?
I like the CollegeBoard prep book the best
@@JamieNicholson that’s nice to hear. Everyone suggests the princeton book but I don’t wanna spend even more money because it’s online and my money is on cash. Everyone who did good on last years psat got into a psat prep for this year(national merit) and I only got a 1210 (both times 💀 ) I’m rank 5 so it messes with my brain. inshAllah I’ll get that 1550+ and thank you for giving me some hope.
YOU GOT 1530 AND U WANNA REPEAT IT ????..WHYY😂
Lol I wanted to get around 1580 range (completely unnecessary, 1530s a score that’ll work for any college)
@@JamieNicholson oh looll
if i got 1450+ that would be amazing 😂😂
@@ibraheemyoussef hi. i want to take sat subject exams. but i don’t know for which profession what subjects i need to take. help me please i would like to take mathematics history of america and general history please answer

I have one week! November 7
Same I’m retaking

I got a 970 on thr PSAT last year im a junior now and im dtill considered gifted with math.
And i still can comprehend elementary school level English concepts
I have my PSAT next month and I haven’t started studying. I’m good with the English portion but I need a lot of help and improvement with the math section. I’m also going to be self-studying and I wanted to ask if you recommended anything to help with studying the math portion?
shes an expert at yapping
I'm using the BARRON'S SAT book, is it equally good? I'm writing March 13th, haven't covered alot or anything 😪, taking the ptests is so exhausting....
I'm not familiar with the Barron's book but I'm sure it will work great. Good luck in March, 3 weeks is plenty of time to prep!
Lmao I literally study non stop every day and ingore my hw and when sat day happen I literally didn’t knew any of it 😃 and yet I study so hard the night before on grammar because I suck ass at it but I think I fail ahhaa
I believe in you!
my sats are in a month thank god I found this
Good luck!
What u get
My SAT is on March 13 in this Saturday.
Same!
Same. Tomorrow morning 😦😥
So how was it?
@@unknownresident9649
It’s was good, the math section was easy and the reading and writing section was good
@@dlgread2028 oh, great.
How much you think you will score?
Could you may give me some advice, of about to prepare my SAT as a 2nd language?
i did like 5 practice tests and i still suck in reading, not improving at all
How did you solve the reading section?
My SAT test is this Saturday. For reading I know I'll get a perfect but for math I'm scared that I won't even get 1/5 of the score😭
ah good luck! to me math is easier to improve at through repetition than reading lol, the reading section killed me
test tmr, march 13. starting studying now :)
Good luck!
it’s thursday and my test is on saturday and i haven’t started studying😃
I done my first practice test and got only
1120
English - 520
Math - 600
Can I get a 1350+ by 3 months of studying everyday ?
For sure, with three months of consistent studying a ~200 point increase should be possible :)
@@JamieNicholson thank you 🙏 I’m hoping for 750 math+ I went straight in without knowing anything about SAT since I’m not even from the US my country does not use this system either.
Guess how many days till my SAT...1 week, I have studied a little bit but I’m going to take my first practice test today...also holy hell I also think the reading parts are so hard and the math is way easier for me...tho if I do struggle with the math, probably going to be because of formulas
Me tooo. We’re gonna kill it. I’ve taken many practice tests before but ahhh nervous!
Good luck!
@@JamieNicholson thank you!
Didnt study at all and got over 1200, good enough for me
i can relate to the phone part so much and alot of people dont understand that foggy mind state.
it really makes a difference!
My test is on Saturday my highest score is about 1370 do u think I'll be able to get better in the time I have left?
Sure! If you focus in on the areas you need to improve on most and understand exactly what you got wrong, you should be able to nail it :D
POV: you bought SAT prep books in June but you didn't start studying until a week before the test.
i’m really planning on doing good on my sat and i have a year to start and study 🥸
Awesome, with a year of preparation im sure you’ll do great!
same
Statutes watching from you sat videos , do you run before eating ? Thanks !
hii DID u complete the beginning of the collegeboard book where it has steps and teaches u some problem?
Yeah, I did complete some of the mini practice sections in the books and found it to be helpful. Doing full practice tests was more beneficial for me personally, but it varies from person to person :)
I’m soooo nervous..... I feel like the one part ima do back on is the reading it’s sooooo hard for me
how was it?
i have a question. after each section for ur practice sat's did you score each section after you took them? or would u wait until u finished a whole test and grade the whole thing at once.
Jamie Nicholson okay thank u sm!!
“Kinda stressful” I’m boutta kms😭
leaving this here so if i get a good score when i give mine in august i'll edit it here
I am taking the SAT for the first time and I am also a senior.
Good luck!
@@JamieNicholson Thank you for the tip!
How did it go? Was it very difficult???
@@NicoleLerma02 Honestly some parts were confusing in the math section. But other than that it was fine. Although I wish I had more time. In one section I felt a little rushed. But I still completed everything.
@@audreyrose280 Ooh okay! I'm.gonna take mine on Dec 5th, and I suck at math lmao. and i really dont wannw retake it and go through it again yk?? i just want an okay score to get that over with😤😔
I have bought the official sat guide 2017...do i have to buy also 2020 edison?
Hey! Do you have any strategies for reading part? I really struggle because the passages are hard to understand
It made the reading section a lot more intuitive and natural.
i have a bit over a week left and i have barely studied. my last PSAT score was 1100. i’ll let you know how it goes
good luck!
how was it??
I don’t feel confident while doing the reading part i feel like there is always a trick involved any recommendations? I have 1 week left :(
You got this don’t doubt yourself
For reading, what helps for me is to take my time reading the passages and annotating summaries or key points I find while reading it. This helps me be able to have a deeper understanding of the material so when I answer the questions I feel like I know the passage better. Another thing that helped me is just generally reading more books and paying attention in English class so I can learn author's craft, style, etc. Good luck on your test!
i just signed up for the 5th of june
i haven’t studied
im nervous asf guys
i haven't started studying yet. i dont think my natural smarts will help me for this test
same :/ good luck we can do this!
Omg same mines also on the 5th of june! I'm screwed because I did terrible on the PSAT and I've barely studied. Good luck to u 😊
@@angelazou5315 Same plus my mom paid to make me take a course and i still did bad on the psat lmao, now I have to take the real sat and they are going to kill me if I get lower than a 1200
im not ready for tomorrow bro lmaooo
I really can't manage to increase my English score can you help me out and like try giving me tips and tricks that would help me a lot?. I would really appreciate it if you do so!! my english score is around 460-520 and the hardest part is the reading part for me as well
i’d say do 4/5 of the reading. and put all of ur effort in them. if u get 90% of that correct that’s a 300
Is there a difference in the year the book was made in to study with like for instance one book is from like 2020 would it be the same material as the 2021 tests
the practice tests might be slightly different, but they'll both be equally helpful to study with
As a foreigner student diction questions is so hard for me(
don't worry, you'll do great! wishing you the best :)

Glad it helped :)
so i got 1170 on august 29th test (international) but the scores of those who had their task in Turkey came out later than expected and therefore i missed the deadline for admission for the university i wanted. so i am planning to take May 8th 2021 test. tbh, i don't have money for resources, i only practised on Khan academy and i plan to do so again.
She’s.just.smart.
My cousin is a sophomore at WashU and she scored a whopping 1560….. she is not a genius but had a private tutor that is every week for 5 months or more with each session $130… I have her now and hopefully I get a good score
good luck!!
I am having my test in five months and I am already starting to study but I have to study because this is the only test because that helps with my university admission sooo😅😭 wish me luck
