Since all questions are worth the same points, starting with your strengths ensures you maximize your score within the time limit. However, if time isn’t an issue for you, it doesn’t matter as much. Thanks for the advice. Could you address the questions that have a piece of text with an underlined sentence, and then asks what does the underlined text contribute to the structure of the whole text? And also the newer poetry questions?
Yes! The function of the underlined section question type is a part of the broader purpose questions, so many of the things I said in that section apply here. Thanks! Yes, I have some tips for you. Start with your strengths-questions you can answer quickly and accurately-so you can get through more of the test within the time limit. For example, I found the "Information and Ideas" (long passage questions) took me the longest, so I’d skip ahead to the grammar questions. This way, if I ran out of time, the hardest questions were the ones I didn’t finish, and I maximized the number of questions I answered. Since every question is worth the same, this strategy can help boost your score. Ideally, you want to complete EVERY question, and two key strategies for this are speed reading and pattern recognition. Speed reading involves scanning the text to quickly grasp the main points without subvocalizing (speaking the words in your head), which takes practice. Pattern recognition, especially for grammar questions, allows you to identify what to look for and answer in just 10-30 seconds. For a more mathematical approach, there are 27 questions in 32 minutes, giving you about 71 seconds per question. Setting a timer and practicing within this limit can improve your pacing. I also mentioned in the video how the flag tool and clock can help manage your time effectively. Let if this makes sense

i got a 560 on the last DSAT on the english section. now im going to take it on Aug 24th. last time i got low on time and could'nt finish half of the reading questions.
I don't really use apps, but more websites and articles. I think the most helpful ones are Khan Academy, SAT Question Bank, and Bluebook for Practice tests.
This is so helpful! I last scored a 710 on practice test 2, but after watching this I got a 750 on practice test 5! Also, what degree of variance is there in the difficulty of the practice tests? How much should a score waiver by across tests?
That's great! I don't think a score will waver TOO much between practice tests. While it is possible that a jump from 710 to 750 is just a fluke, I think it's unlikely. I've heard stories of huge variance in others, but not much in myself.
I suck with timing on hard English module however almost all the questions I answer, I get correct. I got a 680 and got 1st Module perfect but I didn’t answer 5 questions (all random five)
I struggled with running out of time when I was studying for the SAT. There's some tips for it, but the main thing is just practicing. When you practice the same question type over and over again you'll naturally get faster at it.
I guess the questions shown in this video are from the Bluebook practise tests... it would be great if you could use college board question bank questions rather so that people don't know the answers to bluebook tests before they take the test

What about the question: Which choice best describes the function of the underlined sentence in the text as a whole? Does that go to the structure
@@arjungupta909 That would go with purpose. Often times purpose and structure are tied into one, though.
@@DylanShaughnessySAT ok thx. i like ur vids btw!
@@arjungupta909 thanks!
I agree, I wish I could remake the video so that I didn't spoil these questions :/
