    thanks for the detailed unboxing, that is a good job. if you are actually interested in buying an RC, such a detailed unboxing is a great help. my 2 cents : 1/ shocks : there are no shockboots and 4mm is actually a 1/8 buggy standard now : 4mm can be weak for such a big truck. 2/ the TVP chassis misses some braces ( just like the hobao hyper MT ) 3/ it might be the only TVP truck with a center diff which is a very good thing

    Bahhhh!! I been looking for a bash vehicle for my 35th birthday! I think it's close between this CEN and the TEKNO MT. So glad you got one Vas!! I think you definitely did an excellent job showing us exactly what you get for your hard earned $ with this one. And lastly.. Definitely I would take this over a Plastic Maxx !!

      Thank you sir. The Reeper and the Tekno MT are very different, so it really comes down to what you want out of the RC. Good luck choosing your next RC and thank you for stopping by. ;)

    Hi :) thank's to be back you'r self and made for us this great precise and impartial unboxing ;) this is the way i discover this channel year's ago
    another miss is that the upper arms are the same as on the odl gst and this is exaclty the week point off this truck range
    have a nice week and thank's again

      Thank you very much.
      I don't know this brand that much, so it's hard to point out any known weaknesses from previous models, but everything looks pretty good to me and after driving it for the first time this past weekend, I can't complain about anything on this truck as far as durability goes. It held up very well and drives much better than I gave it credit for.

      yeah ! this is what i waiting you to say :) i drive cen since more than 10 years and this inside battery is not a problem for the handling :) the drive train is much better than the savage one , i only had issue with the body post , battery tray (on hard jumping) and upper arms (in sommer ok under 10°c it's a problem ) i never break any gears and never bend chassis plate (like on my savages) or somthing i'm a great cen fan :)
      i'm sure you gonna love it
      thank's for the fast answer , wish you hours and hours off fun
      Many
      p.s the tire are very good in dirt and snow

    I go and get spray on bed liner in a can, and spray the underside of the body. It really strengthens the body without adding a lot of weight.

    Great thorough review Vas! I believe with a few small adjustments this truck will become a force to be reckoned with. Some things though do seem like a bit of a no brainer like better body posts and protection for the battery. At least the weak points are very easy/cheap to remedy :)

    I just got mine today, i wish i would have watched this first because i prolly would have went with a different truck. There are just lil things that could have been done to make this a much "better" RC. Really enjoy your videos. I dont really BASH per say but i can be rough at times.

      limitless rc acura tends to be higher up though in terms of luxury options. plenty of other car companies do this. lexus and toyota for example.

    • @bendscrewrc2745
      @bendscrewrc2745 7 років тому +1

      Acura had badged the NSX and a lot of Type R's, but in every other market they were Honda.
      Vas is right, as Lexus doesn't rebadge Toyota's, they're are actually different cars.
      Acura just puts a badge on any flagship Honda to give them more caché for the US market.

    Awesome Vas your the man. Thanks for the video I'm hoping to get one of these soon maybe. Looks like the 1/8 Colossus just longer and can run 6s. I had tons of problem with my CEN Colossus it broke every time I would plug the batteries in it seemed like, Hope this one is a little better. I do think it kinda sucks to pay $650 for a truck that need work done to it though. Thanks again Vas.

    Vas, you were beaten to the punch! There is a channel called Brads and Marks RC garage or something similar that showcases this vehicle along side the X-Max. What's crazy is they tested it at your alternate driving location. Looks like the X-Max handles better than the CEN based on what was shown, but I look forward to your review.

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  7 років тому +1

      +Thomas Woolsey That's the guy that won the truck, he's my friend. We got the trucks on the same day, but I promised Chris from Hemistorm we would release our unboxing videos at the same time, so that's why I've only released mine now. Plus, it wasn't a competition to see who went first.

    good job vas. those mounts are definitely suspect, especially with those huge jumps you go off of. should be a brace on those from one side to the other. also wondering about those wheel hexes and aftermarket tire choices

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  7 років тому

      With 23mm hexes, there are quite a number of options in the 1/5 scale range. It won't be an issue getting aftermarket wheels & tyres for this truck.

    nice video as always Vas! This is pretty mutch a halfprojected, halfmade truck that should've been kept as a prototype! So the "Xmaxx killer" is not even getting close... I do like how it looks, but like this, I will not buy it not even as a roller...and it is pitty...I've seen quite a potential to have an alternative for the Xmaxx...

      You need to change the hex out to 24mm because stock wheels are 23mm. You can order the 24mm adapters off eBay for about 50$. Then you can run duratrax, proline or what I did get some 8s outcast backflip tires. On a side note if you think that's too much work I have a set of the nice chrome American force wheels that look amazing on it I'm selling. Only ran them once.

    You definitely don't need 8s on the Xmaxx to get good speed, I ran a Leopard 5874 motor and BL6 160a ESC on 18/50 gears and was hitting 52mph on 6s and doing standing wheelies at 1/4 throttle (50mph is all the stock tires can handle to be honest) although a simple esc and gear change on the 6s Xmaxx is really all you need to wake it up

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  7 років тому +1

      Well, a bit of a contradicting comment there... "You don't need 8S", but "I ran a Leopard 5874 motor and BL6 160a ESC on 18/50 gears". Traxxas deleted the 6S Xmaxx because it was terrible as it was and needed a lot more speed. That's why the 8S version is now available. Either way, you need deep pockets to get that thing moving. My friend who lent me his Xmaxx is running the same gearing as you, but with the stock motor and a Max6 ESC. He can run it on 6S which is usable speed, but on 8S is totally bonkers and too much power for a truck of this design. I think he's blown one diff so far on 6S and busted a bumper or something, but the truck has held up OK and is quite fun to drive.

      Also, CM Reeper can change 23mm to 17mm hex possible.

    You can get the thunder tiger k-Rock for $499 thats $150 less and its a better truck !!!

      @AussieRCPlayground  7 років тому

      +Ricky'D 1968 Actually, people have been buying this truck for $520 in the US, so it's not that expensive. Plus, I have both trucks and this truck drives much better. But besides that, they're in two different categories as the K-Rock is much smaller.

      oh ok i looked it up and i seen it was going for $649 i was like thats just to much. But if you can get for 500+ then thats better.

    Well that tells it all. the X-Maxx is 1/7 scale.

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  7 років тому

      I thought the Xmaxx was advertised as a 1/6 scale? Either way, it's quite a bit bigger and weights a lot more.

    • @DocWolph
      @DocWolph 7 років тому

      I believe the X-Maxx is advertised as a 1/6. But the size difference between the X-Maxx and Reeper is so small, as opposed to the HBX T6 on your shelf compared to the 1/8s, that you really can say decidedly that the X-Maxx is a 1/7. A big 1/7, but a 1/7 scale all the same.

    This truck is another Genesis/Nemesis 7.7/GST 7.7, a piece of shit to say the least.

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  7 років тому +2

      I've not had a Genesis, but I can tell you that after driving it, this truck has definitely impressed me so far. Certainly not "a piece of shit" as you so elegantly put it.
      "A piece of shit" was that Mammoth Blitz knock off of the HPI Apache I had a while ago. THAT was a terrible RC and the worst I've ever had by a mile.

      Sorry for the languages mate, however there is no other way to describe it. The Nemesis most likely came out before you were even born (I'm being serious). The other two were merely copies with "cooler" bodies and eight shocks NOT 10 (ridiculous I know). Same body posts that stuck out two inches past the body with no body supports. Same upper links and lower arms, towers, hubs, ft/rr bottom plates, tires, wheels, etc... Just look at where the drive pins go through the stub axles to hold the 23mm adapters, the holes are too big for the diameter of the axle itself. This will surely break before bending the shaft so the thickness of the main driveshaft is irrelevant. Good review however piece of dog poo nonetheless.
