  • This was to be my second time doing a thru-hike on the Pine Mountain Trail at F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Georgia. During my second day I had slipped and fell and unfortunately broke my leg. Join me in this video to see the outcome and thanks for watching. :)

You absolutely did the right thing by stopping. Hike another day! So great that the rangers are fully trained to handle these situations. Glad you have recovered!

Thanks. It was rough couple of months for sure but I'm back to normal now. My daughter goes to CCC. She loves it. :)

Glad you are ok. Had a similar experience in high school. Fell on some steps at the end of the day, rode my bike home then to a friend's house. Stayed there for an hour or so then had to head home because of the pain. Went to hospital and found out it was broke. Funny thing, my parents rented the newest vhs release; Pee Wees big adventure (yeah it was that long ago). If want to talk about messed up, try watching that when the Dr has given you pain relief shots just a couple hours earlier. Haha anyways glad your ok and I'm a huge fan. Peace buddy, take care.

I am glad that you are ok. But one question I have is why were you hiking in tennis shoes/sneakers instead of hiking boots? Over the ankle protection is a must when hiking rough slippery terrain. Please do yourself a favor and wear over the ankle hiking boots!
