I pre-ordered this and trust me y’all it ain’t worth it. Video quality is awful there’s no nice way to put it- its one of the worst 1080p cameras out there. Also you only get 2GB of data with the plan so no you can’t use live view all the time. Hoping the next gen version of this is better.
Something to consider before attaching the camera to your front windshield. In California, there are codes that govern what parts and how much of your windshield can. be obstructed. It would be wise to inquire if any such codes apply in your in your home state.
Ahhhh! I've been looking into getting a dash cam for a little bit and now I know which one I need. I love the connectivity features and remote viewing. Everything else in my life is connected so why shouldn't my dash cam? lol.
My wish list is for it to have a location mode (e.g. home) where it can turn itself off and not consume any battery after uploading what it needs to the cloud via wifi. Also received an email discussing about a 2GB data limit per month.... and no way to check the current data usage.
Years ago I'd starting into making a video just like this for my current dashcam that...I am now seeking a replacement for instead. In short, everything that could go wrong with mine did such as the battery going bad within 3 years of using it. Doesn't retain my presets anymore, but more importantly it doesn't do half the things this one above by Ring can. The GPS guide TO your car if you forgot where it is must come in handy for sure
Okay question. On their website it says my vehicle isn’t compatible, but I’m not sure why since all OBD2 sensor are the same (correct me if I’m wrong). Maybe, because my obd2 port is on the bottom right and NOT the bottom left. But would I still be able to just plug it in on the the bottom right port ?
I was super excited about this dash cam until I realized it only records on motion. Red lights, and just sitting still you get no constant recording. Technically NOT a dash cam.
awesome lighting to video how do you like new tech the ring car cam the video is so clear what is it 30 frames ? what is is shot in with what camera sorry so many questions just so curious and is that music from UA-cam weird guy to be like you filming lol didn't you have that happen last time last week ohhh snap dual camerathats so fun universal studios ?
Hello! I have questions what if your car is in the parking lot and your ring dashcam has no WiFi connection, and someone is trying to open your car, is the Ring dashcam will send you a warning on your cellphone right away?
"This video is not sponsored they asked if i wanted to review it and check it out" soooo it is sponsored that is the very definition of sponsored. They didn't pay for a review but they compensated you with the product.
What if she didn’t like it and toss it aside ??? Wouldn’t sponsor mean you “‘must” review it? They sent her one she didn’t have to do anything . That’s just my understanding.
It uploads the video from dash-cam to the cloud after its connected to wifi. There is a 2GB data cap per month (or extra charge could occur, no info on cost or way to tell on the usage at the moment).
The current software only allows you to download a 20 second clip at a time, so it's not something you would use to capture road scenery on a road trip but to download incidents only.
Thank you for the video review and recommendation. However why in the world didn’t Ring think of adding another rear view camera or any option to add a one at a later time?! This absolutely BAFFLES me!! Others might say the same about side view cameras, however a rear one while backing up or even driving is a no brainer. Also, why not add a slot for an SD card?!! This is almost unforgivable…
I would love to see the night time/low light performance of the camera! Otherwise looks like a cool deal. Ive been looking for a dash cam for my vehicle lately and i would love something with smart connectivity as the rest of my life is already basically there!
The setting up.... "What the heck is that"? You could ask Justine and she'll ask Linus and he'll ask Marquis and they will get back to you 👍. Stay safe 😘 🌹 💞 🐨
Car surveillance would be easier and LESS COSTLY IF Apple STILL MADE iPod touch devices Connect it to your Apple ID maybe connect a Google account Microsoft account for video storage and connect it to WI-FI provided from your car IF your car supports it and boom
I was going to get it till I read reviews that it shuts down constantly "to save battery power" thus you CAN'T check in on it whenever you want. Useless.
LMAO they finaly launched this. No lie I worked for them and it was supposed to launch a year ago. Though I really think this product is best for people who already have the RIng ecosystem. :P I don't mind the products and have a couple of cams, but I am curious to see this reviewed next to some other lower cost car cams and if this price is justified because as far as car cams go they did price this fairly high.
So I have ring cameras at home already, if I got this is it in the same app? would I have to have two different apps? Would it cost extra on top of what I’m already paying?
Your OBD2 port is THE life source for your car/truck. Sort of an umbilical cord to the technician who works on your car. Break that and your car is Kaput!
To bad it shuts off after awhile with the car off "to conserve battery power" and only turns on once the engine turns on again. Pretty worthless. I have a brand new 2022 and other dash cams are fine staying on.
Unplug it, plug in your code reader to clear the codes then reconnect the camera. Simple. If you're clearing codes frequently then you have 99 Problems and a dash cam ain't one.
This is a sponsored video and the ring cam sucks. They force you to get their monthly subscription to be anywhere close to be a useful product. Also cost twice as much as other dash cam. Piece of crap product.
Honestly I have a couple and I use them for pet cams, but yes it is expensive for people using them for 24 hr surveillance. I just don't know how you justify this car cam price and the subscription cost? I need more reviews for sure. Also, for anyone looking for a secure system usually a CCTV set up will work. SimplySafe is in the same area. Blink is also owned by Amazon so it'd be cheaper with the same tech since they also own Ring. I could go on. Boring company to work for, very autocratic, but the product itself is fairly solid just expensive.
*It has nice features, but let's be honest the 1 part that matters the most is absolutely Trash. Who in there right mind ships out this kind of picture quality on a dash cam??*
It's so neat how with Ring products you can keep an eye on your house and now your car too, I'll definitely be checking this out for my pickup
Thanks for the video! I was looking into this.

Great video as always. In future videos I would like to see what’s in your tech bag when you travel or everyday use
Ok!!
@@JennaEzarik lucky guys gets a reply =you like that it kinda rhymed but yeah that would be cool new vid techbag
Pretty sweet. Ring is also working on a drone to surveil your home while you're out and about. I can't wait for that!
So does this record both sides (front and rear camera) simultaneously?
Yes

Cry about it
I can't believe you showed us your OD2 Port on UA-cam 🤣🤣🤣 com on, that's funny 👍
You're supposed to show your OBD2 port only after marriage 😂
So does it not need Wi-Fi connection like the other ring cameras?
It uploads the video from dash-cam to the cloud after its connected to wifi. There is a 2GB data cap per month (or extra charge could occur, no info on cost or way to tell on the usage at the moment).

Heey Jenna do you miss nadeshot at all?? Or you guys still hang out off camera??
ODB 2 port is part of the cars computer system...

I can do that! I barely drive at night because I cant see LOL
Onboard Diagnostic Port 👍😎

Great video now i want one 😊😊
The video quality is bad when it's in motion. Otherwise it's fine
Nice video thank you!
Ring car cam driving without internet how to it working?
I need this in my car asap
My car cam only catches drunk people peeing near my car at night 😂

Hiiiiii Jenna!!!!!!
Jenna, at 5:52-6:05, is your car a bullet train?
Oh this is so cool and are you doing daily contact now
The video footage on the Ring looks a little grainy

Does your other sister make UA-cam videos at all?? I think I remember her saying she wanted to or something? Her name is bri right??

ITS COMPATIBLE WITH ALL CARS! ring just tries to require you to use the obd adapter. It’s an absolute joke
Hope you car battery doesn’t die on you in a month
The picture quality looks great!
Love you
Won't ship until June......
Not that great if you clear your codes often

If someone bothers me while filming I just whip the camera around and suddenly they get real shy.... PS Crying at 'Jeezy Whip' 💀
It doesn’t come with a rear camera? What’s the point of having the camera pointed on you inside the car?
