Basically it's some iron bits that conducts electricity transmitted by our brain originally meant to actionate some biological intern actions, that will instead goes to the NeuraLink that will transmit the location and intensity of that electricity through radio communication to a computer that will try to perform action and correlate those to the location and intensity of the original signal, and if it's what was meant to do, then memorize that, otherwise would try a different action upon same signal next time

He had a variety of sensors/switches he could use to ocntrol his computer as he lost more and more motor control they were reduced to a single button next to his cheek where he still had some muscle control, a cursor would highlight certain common words and he would twitch that muscle when it selected the right grouping, then the process starts again narrowing down the word selection until he got what he wanted to say.
This is why a lot of his interviews would be prepared in advance.

In the full presentation, Elon said specifically they are working on making sure it can be removed and upgraded to the updated version. Not sure if he meant only firmware removal, but it sounded like he implied it can be physically removed, too.

As a guy who Suffers from quadriplegia. Who cares About interacting with a computer or iPhone. You can do that quite easily now. Unless this is going to get us to move our limbs It’s a waste of time.

A capitalist's wet dream.
It would be amazing if this chip could essentially put computers into our brains and make school obsolete. Anyone would have the skills to truly be whatever they wanted, money for Uni would no longer be an issue, and our productively would be at an all time high since we would no longer have to spend 20+ years in school. Humanity would advance so much quicker and if the government was willing to foot the bill for everyone to have one, inequality in education would disappear. We would all be intelligent and able to accept high-skilled forms of work. No more $10 an hour at McDonald's, let the robots do it.
By doing that though you would be going against God's creation, the way he created you to be is already encoded in your DNA and your genes. By changing all that it is like slapping God in the face. Your gifts are already within you, you just have to figure out what they are and use them. You're basically saying that you wouldn't mind turning yourself into a computer. Or a robot. What's to stop them from putting something in that to control you too? There would be nothing you could do if that happened. Talk about being a zombie. I just don't believe in that at all.
