What a cuck. Brave? The beginning of the end and you are celebrating
I think this brings him a lot of happiness and hope. Yes he’s very brave. He doesn’t want to give up
wouldn’t really call it brave as he really has no other options
Getting a chip implanted into his brain to help recover any form of independence would be the sane thing to do in his vegetative state.
Think about it.
Would he have done this if he were a healthy individual that never got paralyzed? Probably not
@@illuviium stfu. You know how dangerous implants is? Even normal transplants is dangerous enough. The risk here is that he can die. No other options tf you talking about. Vegetative state? You dumb ? He’s paralyzed not brain dead that is the difference.

I have MS and this really gives me hope when I think about the future for people with conditions like this. How amazing!
I wish you well
take quercetin with vitamin C and see what changes happen
ms is a degenerative disease bc it's autoimmune it can't be stopped no matter what, this is for people who suffered more acute type of injuries like a broken neck
The chances of that to happen to you are if you stop taking medication though , I never wanna imagine this for myself having ms
And I have Ms also

Hope they figure this technology out. And I wish this gentleman well.
Oh they’ll figure it out, and use it to control each and every person who gets it, or until it’s mandatory, and then they can control all of us. This is a dangerous road we’re going down.
Now hoping they can use a similar device to restore a person's mobility and "cure" spinal cord injuries.
If you research enough, you’ll see this is intended for that purpose also
So far similar items like this
HAVEN’T WORKED NOT for Seizures, I had a Friend die from a surgical Implant device
Used to Improve Seizures ,
and has anyone had Heart issues from Pacemaker’s ?
And - Spinal Cord Stimulator’s
They surgically inserted people have had issues their too
Sometimes people end up dying horribly from these Devices that are meant to help them. 😢
@@shawnafsworld7431while there may be technology that hasn't worked it still gives information. They look at the data and improve on what doesn't work and they look at data that has worked and find ways to make it better. Neurolink so far seems promising.

Brave man, I wish him well
This is only the beginning
This is absolutely mind blowing 🤯 I watched the whole conference he did after getting it and this could change everything for anybody paralyzed. Pretty much the only reason he can't just get up and walk right now is because of how long he's been paralyzed, his nerves and everything are dead. But if you are a person who just got paralyzed, you could be WALKING out of the hospital in less than 2 weeks. This is beyond anything that was expected
Great story! I wish him all the best. I had two strokes at 54 years old that left me without feeling on my right side. Specifically my hand. I would get this implant in a New York minute. I’m lucky to be alive, but this wouldn’t scare me one bit. I hope this type of implant will help so many more people who are living with brain injuries. And all other sorts of things! ✌💙
I thought that there were computer technologies out there where people could use voice commands and certain eye movements that control their devices as well.
Yes, but this is more natural and has much greater possibilities.
Yes. But with this you could control bionic limbs etc
this is so hard for me to comprehend. this is science
It always starts off righteous....
Jumped into wastewater... righteous.
Right. This won't be misused at all.
Absolutely incredible! How is this possible?
The brain's many neurons send signals, which the wires in the implant detect. Different wires cause different functions on a wireless transmitter. The brain then learns through practice, which kinds of thoughts will make this or that happen. Just like any other skill, one gets faster and more precise with it over time.
Neuro grad student here, it's simple to understand but not easy to execute --> electrodes detect neural signals which can be correlated to certain actions on a computer (for instance, when you think of moving up with your mouse you have neural signals that are different then when you want to move down or click. This distinct signal is then programmed on a computer, such that when you have the thought of moving your mouse up again, the chip detects this signal that the computer has registered to initiate a particular command, which would be to move the mouse upward. Rinse and repeat for each movement/action
I hope this remains a positive Device helping ppl w disabilities and doesn’t turn into a device used for bad. New science is so great but there’s always some power hungry ppl lurking in the shadows, looking at it as an opportunity for control
A foreign object inside your brain ....what could possibly go wrong 🥴

To answer your question, I understand that the device is currently helping people who are unfortunately suffering from spinal cord and/or brain injuries, which I agree, is a wonderful advancement in the world of medicine. My reservation comes from uncertainty with the possibility of it being used incorrectly or with ill intent. Not necessarily by the patient, but by the developers. I'm not saying it will or can happen, but you never know. I hope this answers your question. God bless.
This is amazing 👏 this device has forever changed this man's life. Hopefully this is the new thing and we can get this out to everyone needing one. 🙏

I would like to see an implant that sends impulses to the nerves to give movement.
I think they can do it already they just haven't displayed it. That's the goal is to wirelessly send signals to limbs
That is their plans for later variations of the chip.

What an amazing time we live in
He did this just to control a computer with his mind and not to walk?? No way I would have done that.
i would've. That improved his quality of life. Obviously didnt have much to live for now he has some sort of escapism and can play video games and things like that can be fulfilling for people.
@@Anime.Driven There's already voice command and eye tracking software that can do that. This is not worth invasive brain surgery unless it can do something i haven't seen.
It's not that dangerous. Other than boring a hole in the skull, the device is just touching the brain with tiny electrodes. It can be removed if necessary. Not much different than a pacemaker. Plus, as the device is improved, so are the capabilities.
@@kenbob1071 Infection, blood clots, seizures and not to mention loss of speech which is one if the few capabilities he has left. I would beg to differ on it not being dangerous. I'm sure he's helping advance it but with Elon's timeline for completion, he won't be able to significantly benefit from it by the time it's improved. Didn't the monkeys die that underwent this?
not to dampen anything, but whether the device is safe yet we really don't know. A lot of their test animals died after transplantation. I hope for Nolan's sake that it is safe now.
I am happy for him. He seems like he is grateful for the technology trial.
Amen.
A wonderful story from Will Reeves.
I was twenty two when I got my spinal cord injury as well..
Please don't take this, read the book of Revelation in the Bible, chapters 13,14&16, about the mark of the beast, this is it,Musk on Zuby said:"we put a chip in your brain to control your mind", also see José Delgado and mind control here on youtube, he put a similar device in a bull's head to control it, there's hope in Jesus Christ, there's a hereafter, ask The Lord to come into your life to keep & guide you in these last days.
I am sorry to hear of your injury. It must be very difficult. 🥲
Are you interested in this technology for yourself?
Sorry to hear that hope you can benefit from this technology
Brain to computer interface. What potential uses of this device do you envision for future use? I'm guessing implanting other devices that can restore movement. This could be many different limbs of the body or back.
Eventually you can control a tesla robot with the bci. Basically eliminating the need of someone always helping you etc.
@chrispowell1770 Thanks for contributing. Now we better understand the potential improvements and abilities it can bring in shaping our future.
Restoring eyesight, hearing, correcting speech impediments, etc., etc.
