I will be lighting that sacred fire for this 2022 solstice asking the Ancestors to come forth to me in a great way that I may know how to help Mother Earth and all our relations. Blessings to all Nations, all life. May it not be too late…

Miigwetch for this beauty. My wish for this Solstice is that we all move forward in harmony with one mind, and one heart to build a better life for all human beings.

My Dad passed away in early December - then 10 days later by father-in-law too I grew up in Ireland and when we were young our Dad used to take us out to Newgrange. This is a megalithic passage tomb over 5000 years old and is aligned with the winter solstice. It had recently been excavated and opened to the public. My father-in-law was Russian, and also an important teacher for me.
It is remarkable listening to your interpretations of the solstice as it overlaps so much with ours - of course, we are interpreting our ancestors and we can never know for sure what they thought, but at least our thoughts of our ancestors from ancient times is similar.
I've been trying to ask why both my father and father-in-law died so soon together, but keep coming back to the fact that it was so close to the solstice. The closest I have to an answer is that it is an opportunity for rebirth and regrowth - from now on the days get longer and brighter. They will get dark again, that is part of the cycle: but knowing that it is a cycle means we can face the darkness without fear.
I thank the UA-cam algorithm gods for recommending this video! But will light a fire to a greater unknown that ties us all together even if we have no rational explanation for it.
Best Wishes from the other side of the Atlantic!

In gratitude for the beauty shared here. It was an honor to witness. I will carry what was shared in my heart and share it with a open heart. Many blessings to all my relations. May this New Year bring joy and piece of mind for a bright new beginning. Chi-miigwech may your fires burn brightly and bring you closer to the Great Mystery.
