I really appreciate your videos on radiography. I'm getting ready to begin my first year of school in rad tech and was wondering if there were any helpful websites or other content that helped you through.
Congratulations! Purposegames.com was super helpful for learning boney structures. For example, search “carpal bones” and interactive quizzes that other people have made will show up!
That's actually not true that you are always exposed to radiation. As a CT tech, I am always behind a lead lined protective booth. I have only ever had a very low reading on my dosimeter once since working at this facility and that's when I was covering in x-ray and had to hold patients. Any time a tech has to be in the room to hold, you have to wear a lead apron, lead thyroid collar, and your radiation dosimeter at collar level. Surgical techs, nurses, anesthesiologists, surgeons, etc are all exposed to radiation on a daily basis too when they're in surgery cases requiring a c-arm.
Thanks so much for the behind-the-scenes look at your job! I'm in my first year of Rad Tech school so really enjoy your RT content! There's a ton of social media/UA-cam content out there about nursing, but not nearly enough about RT.
I went to a 21 month associates program for Radiologic Technology and then I took my ARRT radiography boards 2 months after graduation. CT took me under one year to document all exams, finish my structured education, and pass my ARRT CT boards. I’ve been working on MRI since the end of November and I am 85% of the way there to take my boards!

Keep up the great work of sharing our craft. Have you ever thought about ultrasound? I bet you would be good at it.
Thank you! My mom is a sonographer and I have shadowed her quite a few times, but I don't have any interest with going back to school right now!
@@JuliaKristine I don't blame you there. Took me decades to get my doctorate. Just planting seed...
Awesome! I work at a place that makes medical needles, syringes, and etc.
That’s super cool! 😊
As an RT (R)(MR)(CT). It is fun to see what other equipment other facilities have and work with
I agree!!
1st year x-ray student here! my current clinical site has CR and I’m SO jealous of that machine!!
I went to this unit from working CR and it was LIFE changing 😂
I really appreciate your videos on radiography. I'm getting ready to begin my first year of school in rad tech and was wondering if there were any helpful websites or other content that helped you through.
Congratulations! Purposegames.com was super helpful for learning boney structures. For example, search “carpal bones” and interactive quizzes that other people have made will show up!
hi i want to know if theres a risk of being infertile from working as radtech, because you know, you are always exposed in radiation
Surgical techs, nurses, anesthesiologists, surgeons, etc are all exposed to radiation on a daily basis too when they're in surgery cases requiring a c-arm.
im a grade 10 students and thats very helpful thankyou!!
Thank you for this video, Julia!! It was so interesting!
thank you for watching!!
Great video! What are your thoughts on a radiation therapy career?
I think radiation therapy seems like such a rewarding career! I enjoyed it when I shadowed
Love this video! I am thinking of applying for an Imaging program and this is super fascinating and informative💜
I'm excited for you!!
Thanks so much for the behind-the-scenes look at your job! I'm in my first year of Rad Tech school so really enjoy your RT content! There's a ton of social media/UA-cam content out there about nursing, but not nearly enough about RT.
I hope your first year has been going well! 😊
These seems like a really fun job ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I really love it!
Thanks for sharing!!! You're very wonderful at your job be blessed!!!
thanks for watching!
@@JuliaKristine You're welcome!!!🌸
I get so excited for the videos where you feature radiology because it gets me super excited to go in the radiology program!
so excited for you!!
Love these type of videos ❤️
Really loved this video!!! Definitely an inside look into the field most people don’t get the opportunity to see. ❤️
absolutely! It was fun to film and hopefully it's helpful for some :)
This was so interesting to see. And thanks for showing us and on your day off at that.
thanks for watching, Tara!
How long did it take you to become certified in X-ray, CT & MRI?
I went to a 21 month associates program for Radiologic Technology and then I took my ARRT radiography boards 2 months after graduation. CT took me under one year to document all exams, finish my structured education, and pass my ARRT CT boards. I’ve been working on MRI since the end of November and I am 85% of the way there to take my boards!
Thank youu☺️
