Fr I was screaming “this is some wwe bull” 😂 when you want a new hero to defeat the villain without making the hero seem weaker by losing, you have him get injured and then they kept Robbie strong by making the reason he lost the fact that he got distracted
@@antuanlemon484 I Agreed on the WWE bull but Robby losing because of a distractions does not keep him strong because karate is not only about the physical aspect but the mental aspect too.
@@ace3591 They both had their fists up ready to strike if you look closely, Robby was as prepared to get the point there as Eli was so it seemed more like a draw
With Sam using the sai and Tory using the katana in the tournament, following up them using the bo and nunchucks in the final episode of Season 3 they have now fully completed their collection of Ninja Turtles weapons.
I think Eli saw Hawk as a separate persona. I think that's why they did the flash back to him telling his mom a woman will never was kiss this face. So when moon kissed him it was Eli's first kiss and I think that's why the kiss did so much to boost is confidence.
Biggest easter egg for me was that the Eli and Miguel fight was pretty much a Ryu and Ken reference, from the fist bump at the start to the spinning kick (Tatsumaki Senpukyaku) that takes Miguel out
Dimitri was absolutely moved forward and i loved every bit of it. As for hawk his change after his talk with moon from his face to the way he walks is just brilliant acting.
13:59 Johnny didn’t say anything wrong though, he didn’t tell Miguel to go hurt Hawk, he just told him to go all out & win. That’s what any Coach or sensei would say. It’s just that Miguel is still in his feels from the night before
When Miguel questioned Johnny on what he said, the latter made no attempts to rephrase any of the words he said, so as far as Miguel was concerned Johnny was telling him to hurt his friend. Think about it, would Johnny have used those words if Miguel were fighting Robby? I think not.
As usual, the soundtrack is on point. Especially that background music that kicks in after Kreese talks to Robbie during the match with Kenny.. I hope that is used again. Call it “ Robbie Prime” or something
just now realized Kyler called Eli "Lip" again in this episode. Like bruh I know Cobra Kai shaved his head and shit but like....did you suddenly forget when he damn near fucking killed Brucks in last season? Nobody in the entire show has taken a beating that bad, beat his ass outta the whole fucking show
carrie underwood singing a more obscure karate kid song because they thought the best around was too on the nose. incidentally they got her because she was a big fan on twitter so expect andrew garfield in season 5 or 6 lol.
The biggest Easter egg that is see (or plot point I guess) is that the warning that Larusso gave to Robby about Silver is exactly what happened. Right down to the getting some poor kids blood on your hands and wondering if it's too late to change course.
@The Cracked Lenses she does William has spoken very highly of her, a lot of the other actors had gymnastics, dance or even a little bit of training prior to her and due to her issues such as diabetes she finds it harder but she puts in just as much work
Also, how did the committee allow Kreese and Silver to return to the All Valley? Back in season 1, they said that they banned Kreese, Silver, and Barnes.
4:26 He actually did this for real, I watched behind the scenes and after her did it and the scene was complete everyone cheered for him and ran up to him, that's pretty cool! Or they just cheered for him because it looked cool? lol
One thing I didn't like this season was how rushed the road to the tournament actually was. It feels like we only saw them properly training for, what , two episodes? It felt like the whole season arc should have been straightforward -- train for the tournament. But once we got to the tournament it felt like, oh, we're here already?? The buildup felt a little lacking imo. And with the inclusion of the weapons category, it felt like that was a missed opportunity to show them learning and have some nice character growth -- e.g., Dimitri. Still a fun episode though! And you've got to hand it to the cast -- they've all improved a lot in their karate skills and you can tell how much work they put in.
Why? We aready had an entire season of them learning karate for the tournament back in season 1. This season they focused more on the new kids training and that makes sense.
I like how the announcer at the start calls Cobra Kai the defending champions, even though none of them were in Cobra Kai last year. If anything, Eagle Fang would be the defending champion, as it's the same dojo as last year's Cobra Kai, but with a name change. Whereas this year's Cobra Kai is a revival of the 80's Cobra Kai, which hasn't won since 1983.
Calling it now.... Miguel's Father is Freddie Fernandez.... Daniel's neighbor when he first moved to the apt complex. Never to be heard from again!!!!!
Dimitri side step and chop was a call back to Daniel in KK Devon had an arm catch / over the arm round kick move Johnny did In KK Eli side step round kick to kyler Daniel did in KK Tory’s take down and Punch to Devon I think Johnny did in KK I think there were a few others as well
The Carry Underwood part REALLY took me outta the episode, I actually fast forwarded through the parts where she was on screen. She’s a great singer, but definitely the most awkward part of the series for me.

Hawk vs kyler
1) Robby vs Hawk/Eli, 2) Tory vs Sam
Tony vs montana
What’s smart is that since Miguel was injured they can still technically say he’s never lost a match because he didn’t lose, he forfeited it
Fr I was screaming “this is some wwe bull” 😂 when you want a new hero to defeat the villain without making the hero seem weaker by losing, you have him get injured and then they kept Robbie strong by making the reason he lost the fact that he got distracted

@@jump-hullkingstw7002 well I just mean it gives him an excuse lol the same way Miguel lost to Robbie but only because he showed mercy
@@antuanlemon484 well again you can say Eli would’ve gotten a second point a second before the timer where he grabbed his gi and threw him down.

He did not hold his own lmao he got 3-0 by Robby 💀💀

The fights are getting way better, and the actors are looking great selling all the moves.
Yeah, compare it to the simplicity of the Season 1 tournament choreography.
Props to the actors for really training
cough Finn Jones cough
The line about never putting passion before principle is the same line Mr. Miyagi said to Daniel in Karate Kid Part II.

The song Carrie Underwood sings, "The Moment of Truth", played over the closing credits of The Karate Kid 1, performed by Survivor.
Yup I mention this at the beginning of Episode 10 video :)
Makes sense that Carrie's husband, Mike Fisher, would need to see a dentist since he's a former NHL hockey player.

Another easter egg (or maybe it's in the next episode) is Devon doing an over-the-arm kick Johnny did in the tournament in KK1
The biggest Easter egg that is see (or plot point I guess) is that the warning that Larusso gave to Robby about Silver is exactly what happened. Right down to the getting some poor kids blood on your hands and wondering if it's too late to change course.
My favorite fight in episode 9 was Sam vs piper becasue it showed what Sam could do and she’s not useless anymore

6:25 the tall guy that was facing off Bert from Eagle Fang was actually Terry Silver's stunt double
Also when Miguel was facing off Eli it was like they were in Coyote Creek
Terry Doesn't Need a Stunt Double
The song Carrie Underwood sang during the qualifying rounds was from the credits of the first movie.
As Kate Bishop would say, the beanie is your "Branding".
They actually have done Cobra Kai vs Cobra Kai in a tournament in KK1 :), just not in the TV series yet
Daniel was being annoying. Sam didn't cheat, she didn't fight dirty. He needs to get off his high horse.
Excited to see the last reaction, hope y’all be blown away 🔥
I’m excited too. They don’t even know what’s going to hit them
Love watching you guys bro it’s always so entertaining
I'm not much of a fan of Underwood, but I appreciate that she sang a song from the original movie.
Carries been waitin all day for karate night
Think we're already close to R rating territory when the explanation for Silver's actions in back in the 80's was simply cocaine
There’s already been drug references in previous seasons
"Cocain is a hell of a drug." *chuckle*

Random fun fact , Ralph Macchio is 1 year older than Thomas Ian Griffith… pretty sure Ralph is immortal
