I have a question why does everyone always put the blame on Daniel no matter what happens the truth is most of the time Daniel's right about his interactions with Johnny when is Johnny style ever worked out for him he struck first again this season with silver and he got his ass kicked did you see the person saying became the season training under Johnny she was terrible this was the worst version of her every kid that has been taught by Johnny has become a bully at some point in the show Big Time Miguel hawk so Daniel's right eagle fang isn't even real it's a souped-up cartoon version of Cobra Kai
Miguel is Johnnys weakness because he feels that he has a second chance. Johnny clearly wants to rebuild with Robby but he knows he needs to mend things with Miguel. As for Robby I think hes going to be Anthony's personal sensei and will train him to hold his own against Kenny. Robby learned its not about winning there is a right and a wrong and each situations fluid and both sides can believe they are right when if everyone steps back they can clearly see the truth.
I'm actually glad they had Miguel's injury flare up again. His back injury was a serious one, it'd make no sense if he was really at 100%. Even minor back injuries/issues come back if pushed hard, or even randomly. So it'll be interesting to see how Miguel copes with it moving on.
Exactly it had only been 8 months since the injury and he was in a wheelchair for a couple of them. It’s insane the level he’s been able to get to right now but if he had beaten Eli who had never really stopped training it wouldn’t have been that believable
@@poutsamouni5483 Nah neither of them had landed any points before the injury so it was too soon to tell who would've won, they were evenly matched up until that point. And if you look at the wide shot of Miguel falling to the ground after pulling his muscle you can see he was pretty far away from Eli, the kick wouldn't have landed even if he didn't injure himself.
I'm glad they took the tournament more seriously this season and gave all the kids some proper training this time and had better fight scenes. Especially in the finale.
The "problem" Daniel had with Robby teaching Miyagi Do to the others is that Daniel doesn't see karate as a sport, as most other characters do. The "Do" in Miyagi Do means "The Way" (same goes for Karate Do, Judo, Aikido, and several Japanese martial arts). Daniel understands that as the way of Miyagi, who didn't think of karate as a sport, so neither does he. When you look at it from his perspective, Robby was betraying Miyagi, because he was using and teaching Miyagi Do with the sole purpose of winning a trophy. In Daniel's eyes, for Robby, there is no honor, there is no life to save, nothing worth fighting for. That's a recurring theme, as every character thinks their way is the only correct way (hence what Daniel told Sam after fighting Piper). In a sport, what Robby did is perfectly acceptable. For Daniel, it was betrayal of the Miyagi philosophy, which he still struggles to understand himself. And because Mr. Miyagi is no longer around, he feels the needs to preserve, at all costs, the concepts he does understand (or thinks he understands).
Great explanation. When you couple that with the fact that Mr. Miyagi only ever trained one student, Daniel, it clearly meant a great deal and very few were worthy to learn his art, not just any riff-raff, but only those who would use that power well, which was only Daniel, unless you take The Next Karate Kid as canon and include Pierce.
@@Lionimia I think Daniel once made a comment about "it's been a while since there have been two students" meaning at one point, Miyagi must have had Daniel and someone else do the balancing thing that Robby and Sam did. So maybe Julie took a trip to visit and joined in on a class. it's likely that Daniel knows about Julie, but he probably only knew her for that one visit. She lives on the other coast so for all he knows, she might have stopped doing karate, making Daniel the only Miyagi Do student remaining.
Yeah, if Daniel and Johnny had worked together, they would have won the tournament. Life lesson about not working well with others. "United we stand, divided we fall."

He could be lenient in certain situations and manage to screw Miyagi-Do of a point, but he could only do so much to get Cobra Kai to win without making it obvious. If Sam had a better movie variety, she probably could have gotten another point given that she was holding her own against Tory when they both used the aggressive Cobra Kai style. If Johnny had been able to train Sam more, she might have been able to pull off the kick that Miguel failed.
@@rich355 Sam got three points before Tory but the ref screwed her. She would have won and they would have won the entire thing. Whether or not Johnny was there made no difference. Also did she not pull off that kick earlier? She did the flying tornado kicked and nailed it earlier.
@@chrisastin184 The Referee made a crappy call that was rigged, but in real sports shitty calls by the referees happen all the time, It's something that everyone has to deal with, if you played a sport for long enough. Sam could have realistically still won the tournament, what was the referee going to do, if she kept scoring points? Hawk had already won the male division, so it's not like Sam still couldn't have won. Sam didn't even learn too much Eagle Fang prior to Miyagi-Fang splitting up in episode 5, and given that she actually scored a point on Tory when it was aggression vs aggression, Sam wasn't completely out matched and would have greatly benefited from more training by Johnny. All she needed was one more point.

Xolo Mariduena is such an incredible actor in that scene because when he yells "sensei" my whole entire body is covered in goosebumps. can't wait for your reaction to the finale. While I agree with most of what you said about Daniel. Its not like sharing a playbook that you wrote the plays last week. When Daniel trained him he was sharing something close to heart with a rich tradition that went back hundreds of years. Miyagi Do karate is a way of life. He was teaching Robbie more than karate with it he was teaching him life lessons so it felt like a betrayal.

Robby and Daniel's conversation reminds me of the tea scene in Jet Li's Fearless. I'm going to paraphrase for the purposes of this, but basically the line that stuck out to me was when he was asked that if all the different fighting styles of wushu are not superior to each other, then why fight about it: "I believe for all the styles of wushu, there is no single one that is superior. All of those who practice different styles of wushu, they would naturally have a different level of skill. Through competition, we can discover ourselves[and our weaknesses]."

The thing with the new tournament rules is that there’s a point system. So if Sam or Tori wins for the girls division they earn so many points for their dojo. Same with the boys. You also earn points for winning in the skills competition. So the deal is whichever dojo wins overall in points wins top dojo and wins the tournament.

It's not about winning tournaments to Daniel. Obviously this one is important to them, but Mr. Miyagi never cared about trophies. "If Karate Used Defend Honor, Defend Life, Karate Mean Something. If Karate Used Defend Plastic Metal Trophy, Karate No Mean Nothing." He's not upset that Robby taught it to Cobra Kai to win, he's upset that he taught it to Cobra Kai because he lost sight of the whole purpose of it. I feel like they’re forgetting why Daniel is the way he is. It’s because of his strong bond with Miyagi and what he taught him. I don’t get frustrated with Daniel because I know why he’s stuck doing it the Miyagi way by honoring his legacy. Miyagi was basically his father figure. As a Karate Kid fan it’s easy to understand why both Daniel and Johnny are still the way that they are. It’s realistic and I love that aspect of the show. They just got to keep working on there relationship to get over the past. Also the last episode is amazing. It was unpredictable which is why i think it’s the best episode. I already assumed who was going to come out on top. I loved every second of the next episode because it wasn’t predictable. Y’all are in for a treat. It’s the best intense fight they’ve had on Cobra Kai.
Holding back between friends is super disrespectful Robby just taught Kenny a lesson in life by beating him like that and showed his respect by not holding anything back I loved it and he didn’t cheat there’s nothing wrong

Silver ain't the only one with PTSD. Seeing him again fucked Daniel up like nobody's business. He's always been a hot-head but ever since Silver entered the picture again he hasn't been able to think straight for a single moment.
Daniel - "Stay away from my daughter" um but Daniel is who allowed his students to train with Johnny in episodes 3 and 4, plus Sam went to Johnny later on, not the other way around. Why did he get so pissy at Johnny here? He needed to get off his high horse.
Also I’m gonna argue Hawk vs Robby is WAY better narratively than Miguel vs Robby. Hawk and Robby is an ACTUAL rivalry. With Robby and Miguel it’s forced due to the relationship between Johnny and Daniel. But I feel like Hawk and Robby rivalry is a lot more subtle and works A LOT better in terms of writing. It had more weight behind it than if Miguel were to face Robby in the tournament here.
I believe the song Carrie Underwood sang was the end credits song for the first movie. And according to Ralph Macchio it was one of titles they were going to give the movie but they decided against it lol.
Saying "Daniel's decision making has been questionable" referring to why Daniel didn't integrate Eagle fang style, is such an American way of thinking. Daniel respect Okinawan traditional karate and Miyagi's teachings. Miyagi do karate is about being a good person, using karate only for defense. It's about principles. As Daniel said never put passion over principle, cause even if you win you lose.
You guys are simply thinking of this as tools. This the one time I defend Daniel. Daniel, Miyagi, and even kreese, talked about karate not being just about fighting, but a way you approach life. Miyagi Do is about finding inner strength and defense. Even though Johnny is coming from cobra kai, he's morphing his style to be aggressive, but be smart about 'no mercy.' He's trying to get his students to be assertive, but not bullies. So when Daniel and Johnny are trying to morph dojos, they should have been teaching their kids that they can use different approaches in different situations. What Robby did, is not the same thing. Kreese and Silver's Cobra Kai is very different. It was old fashioned and works great during war time, but not for daily life because it's about winning only with no regards for integrity. Robby gave them the tools, not to give them a better attitude (as Miyagi said, no bad student, only bad teacher) or give them an understanding of balance. Robby isn't teaching them how to build inner peace, strength and compassion, he's giving them moves so they can counter. He just wanted to get back at Daniel and Johnny, and in the process, put his passion (hate) above principle (defending the defenseless).
I don't know that Tornado kick Miguel was going to hit Hawk really hard so all kicks are fair I guess but when someone uses a Tornado kick or flying kick to someone head to me they're trying to send a message it could hurt Hawk or anyone else that kicks someone in the head. Granted its a point system so if Miguel lands that kick its going to shake Hawk a little we got to hope it wouldn't hurt anymore. Its total points skills and wins in fights right now Cobra Kai needs only one win either girls or Boys they win.it all. Right now Cobras just Robbie or Tory win they win there will be a Boy champion a Girl champion then a over dojo champion for combine points so its about who wins the main trophy at the end right now Cobras have the lead only need one champion so only one of them need to win for the Cobras to win the over Championship Trophy is for the dojo with the most combine points. There is a trophy for each Boy and Girl champion as well.
Guys I love you and your reactions but you guys really talk over the important dialogues sometimes and it's clear you miss out on some stuff, the episode where the letter came they said clearly it's gonna be point based, they're gonna compare the points from all the competitions, the skills part then boys and girls and whoever has the most point will win.

Ok. I'm confused by Carrie Underwood singing The Moment Of Truth. Where does that song come from? It was a Survivor song from the movie. But obviously the movie doesn't exist in this universe. However it was a song by Survivor and Rocky III exists in this universe. Thus Survivor also exists. Right? Or did Rocky III in this universe not feature Eye Of The Tiger? This is really hurting my head.
Personally, I didn’t enjoy the carrie underwood performance. I don’t dislike her as an artist, but her singing just didn’t fit the mood & it took me out the show. I had to rewatch the scene later, muted. If I was at a martial arts tourney & someone performed a song like this, I would be the complete opposite of hype to compete

the fight scenes this season were so much better than the previous seasons. i guess that netflix budget really helped

I feel like they’re forgetting why Daniel is the way he is. It’s because of his strong bond with Miyagi and what he taught him. I don’t get frustrated with Daniel because I know why he’s stuck doing it the Miyagi way by honoring his legacy. Miyagi was basically his father figure. As a Karate Kid fan it’s easy to understand why both Daniel and Johnny are still the way that they are. It’s realistic and I love that aspect of the show. They just got to keep working on there relationship to get over the past.
Also the last episode is amazing. It was unpredictable which is why i think it’s the best episode. I already assumed who was going to come out on top. I loved every second of the next episode because it wasn’t predictable. Y’all are in for a treat. It’s the best intense fight they’ve had on Cobra Kai.

Also I’m gonna argue Hawk vs Robby is WAY better narratively than Miguel vs Robby. Hawk and Robby is an ACTUAL rivalry. With Robby and Miguel it’s forced due to the relationship between Johnny and Daniel. But I feel like Hawk and Robby rivalry is a lot more subtle and works A LOT better in terms of writing. It had more weight behind it than if Miguel were to face Robby in the tournament here.

Daniel respect Okinawan traditional karate and Miyagi's teachings. Miyagi do karate is about being a good person, using karate only for defense. It's about principles. As Daniel said never put passion over principle, cause even if you win you lose.

You guys are simply thinking of this as tools. This the one time I defend Daniel. Daniel, Miyagi, and even kreese, talked about karate not being just about fighting, but a way you approach life. Miyagi Do is about finding inner strength and defense. Even though Johnny is coming from cobra kai, he's morphing his style to be aggressive, but be smart about 'no mercy.' He's trying to get his students to be assertive, but not bullies. So when Daniel and Johnny are trying to morph dojos, they should have been teaching their kids that they can use different approaches in different situations.
What Robby did, is not the same thing. Kreese and Silver's Cobra Kai is very different. It was old fashioned and works great during war time, but not for daily life because it's about winning only with no regards for integrity. Robby gave them the tools, not to give them a better attitude (as Miyagi said, no bad student, only bad teacher) or give them an understanding of balance. Robby isn't teaching them how to build inner peace, strength and compassion, he's giving them moves so they can counter. He just wanted to get back at Daniel and Johnny, and in the process, put his passion (hate) above principle (defending the defenseless).

I don't know that Tornado kick Miguel was going to hit Hawk really hard so all kicks are fair I guess but when someone uses a Tornado kick or flying kick to someone head to me they're trying to send a message it could hurt Hawk or anyone else that kicks someone in the head. Granted its a point system so if Miguel lands that kick its going to shake Hawk a little we got to hope it wouldn't hurt anymore. Its total points skills and wins in fights right now Cobra Kai needs only one win either girls or Boys they win.it all. Right now Cobras just Robbie or Tory win they win there will be a Boy champion a Girl champion then a over dojo champion for combine points so its about who wins the main trophy at the end right now Cobras have the lead only need one champion so only one of them need to win for the Cobras to win the over Championship Trophy is for the dojo with the most combine points. There is a trophy for each Boy and Girl champion as well.

Personally, I didn’t enjoy the carrie underwood performance. I don’t dislike her as an artist, but her singing just didn’t fit the mood & it took me out the show. I had to rewatch the scene later, muted.
