WOW!! Thats one of the most amazing live performances i've ever seen! Just 'discovered' this group, and I just like them more and more. Superb! Great post!
All this talk about great techical musicianship vs. great songwriting. Any musician will tell you that the rarer and therefore greater gift is writing. Lots of people with great chops on just about any instrument you care to name. Yet few can write an original tune that grabs your attention. Let alone parts you from from hard earned coin to purchase it or go see them paly it live. Win can definitely write -> and they are the best live band on the planet. They play with huge passion.
@RichardLWagner let us not get carried away here.. sure these guys are amazing (i'm a big fan), but they stand out so well because of the general lack of musical complexity in today's music market Talented and timeless acts like Floyd, Zeppelin, RHPC, Radiohead.. are equally as talented
@pimphofoo Ummm -> last I checked those bands you mentioned long since broke and \ or sstopped touring. I guess I could have said "best live band on the planet, still actually playing live". Just thought the "at this time" aspect of the comment was obvious.
I'm sadly convinced that what you wrote about you in your profile will be true for you... here's a hug anyway since probably nobody ever gave you one *HUG* :)
@slye1991 That's Marika, and while I agree with you, I'm more of a Sarah person (the other violin player). Oh and one last thing, she's actually playing the viola ; p
Msnbc new's morning Joe plays this sometime when going to commercial. I like the energy on this song I never Knew who sung this song , thanks to Iphone shazam -I happen to catch it and Now I'm here rocking out. Love it they sound just as good live.
not meaning to take the piss, i'm genuinely curious but how's it relevant that half the crowd haven't heard of them? ;-) that's the great thing about Glastonbury or any other festival, discovering a new band you'd never heard of before!
oh I plan on it in a few years friend. I still can't get over the excellence of this band, and i'm sure that the other bands playing these festivals have awesome talent as well.
Glastonbury has a long history and culture interwoven within the festival. 'T in the Park' is just a music event in Scotland featuring the latest flavor of the month music acts.
i think t in the park is just a music festival glostonbury is a preforming arts festival so there isnt just music thers all kind of things. might be wrong look on wikipidea
I find myself plugging in the headphones and turning UP almost every time I listen to this song... I always thought about good music being pure energy and emotion, but this.. takes that to new levels.
@pimphofoo pearl jam today or 15 years ago? im a huge fan of pearl jam and have seen them live four times. One of those times was this past year and there is no comparison at this point. Pearl Jam in '95, sure but Arcade Fire is the best thing going in 2011 hands down. I must admit ive never seen floyd live but its 2011, man. if you have seen arcade fire live and not just through youtube vids im sure you would agree
i abso-f**ing-lutely love this song!! my bro played this to me (he's into rock music and alternative stuff). i love the fact that they play their own instruments with such passion - love, love, love it! i want it played at my funeral. ohh, if u like live stuff check out Cinematic Orchestra (To Build A Home) - its very moving so make sure u have a hanky or two! Saw them live at Memphis yesterday. BEST PERFORMANCE EVER.
God America would be so much better with these types of festivals. Why can't we have them!
I wish more artists created good pieces like these.
Without question one of the best acts at glasonbury ever
Need to see these guys...
They put in so much energy. They must be wrecked by the end of the show!
Just saw them at Hyde Park... This song is just so... Cathartic. I teared up.

Whenever I'm running, I turn this song on and pretend I'm the drummer. The time flies.
their intensity chills me to the bone
they sound like what they sound like on my iPod :') awesome
To me this song has an 80's feel to it.
Régine manages to make the acordian look glamourous. I love her gloves.

@RichardLWagner let us not get carried away here.. sure these guys are amazing (i'm a big fan), but they stand out so well because of the general lack of musical complexity in today's music market
Talented and timeless acts like Floyd, Zeppelin, RHPC, Radiohead.. are equally as talented
I love them too, but it's so difficult to keep that many instruments in tune
Epic indeed
their songs are so much better live!

very very good live but theres a peculiar 'chacking' noise on this vid
¡Viva México! We are always in the best moments of the music, in everywhere, nothing can't stop us!!!
3:38 - end is the best part
34 people are from greece
@slye1991 That's Marika, and while I agree with you, I'm more of a Sarah person (the other violin player). Oh and one last thing, she's actually playing the viola ; p
I love this band with all my heart. I live where they played and all the flags and everyones, energy, I would anything to be in that festival.
Sorry, Arcade Fire's not the Jonas Brothers.
They seem to suit your needs.
Unintelligent, unoriginal, and unnecessary.
Sounds perfect for you!
Brilliant.Seen them last night and this was the stand-out track.Probably the best live band i've seen.
'cept U2 of course.
@ducrozet74 Because here in Venezuela its hard to find those type of records, only really mainstream music.
butler was yelling a bit for my taste in this performance, i'd rather hear more of Regine's voice.
i love this song, it amazing!
What other song do they have like this? i mean almost this EPIC?
Msnbc new's morning Joe plays this sometime when going to commercial.
I like the energy on this song
I never Knew who sung this song , thanks to Iphone shazam -I happen to catch it and Now I'm here rocking out.
Love it
they sound just as good live.

oh I plan on it in a few years friend.

Glastonbury has a long history and culture interwoven within the festival. 'T in the Park' is just a music event in Scotland featuring the latest flavor of the month music acts.
Holy hell, this performance is amazing. I simply have to see them live as soon as possible.
i think t in the park is just a music festival glostonbury is a preforming arts festival so there isnt just music thers all kind of things. might be wrong look on wikipidea

They should have done this song as the encore at the Grammys after they won. By far their best!!!
True....
hockey is right if this is the rallying call on the way to heaven i cant wait for death
the bassist and singer looks really like a friend of mine its crazy :D really good song
