      LOVE U GUYS! but you overthink 80's horror too much. Youre looking for plot, reason, and in-world rules. here's 80s horror- Tension, jumpscares, t*ts, and gore. THATS IT. don't try to logic a follow thru. LOL just enjoy the camp.

      plus, you guys are always confused, in dreams freddy is GOD. he controls every atom in the entire dreamworld to do what he wants. when you want to ask- why in the dream is this happening?- because FREDDY IS CONTROLLING EVERYTHING.
      plus there were no "universes" like marvel , dc, etc- every move can connect to the previous, or IGNORE it totally. 80's horror was about horror, NOT thru lines. Sorry if this still confuses you LOL it's just for the entertainment, NOT the story.

    Rick’s death was originally going to be much different. The elevator he was in was going to crumble apart, leaving him to fall in an endless abyss. But by the time they were getting ready to work on the sequence, the budget was just about GONE, so they had to improvise and literally throw that dojo scene together.

    • @Senkoau
      @Senkoau Місяць тому +9

      I am one of those who prefer's the dojo scene. I know a lot of people feel its too silly but it fits both with Ricks martial arts character earlier in the film and Freddy's constant cheating in dreams. "I made a deal with demons to kill kids in their dreams but I don't believe in magic."

      It's not obvious but one theory is, the dog (an Animal) deconsecrated the ground allowing Freddy to comeback. In the last one Freddy was done in when they blessed the grave with holy water. Its weak but thats how I get around that head-itch.

    Something I really appreciate about The Nightmare on Elm Street movies is that they do a really good job sticking to the logic and rules that they created for the world. In the last movie, the nun said the bones had to be buried on hallowed ground. But they bury the bones in the junkyard. So of course Freddy came back.
    The whole premise of the first 3 movies was Freddy hunting the children of the people who killed him. So after he did that, he needed a new way to hunt other children. Hence, Alice.
    They continue this same logic into the next movies. I love it.

    I know a lot of people regard Part 3 as the best, but I’ll admit Part 4 has grown on me a lot over the years. It’s fun, silly, imaginative, Renny Harlin did a great job directing, this should be the tone they go with if they ever reboot Nightmare as a film series or TV series, unlike the horrible and boring 2010 remake, they need to lean into the comedy and over-the-top kills and crazy dreamscape worlds and just make it fun

    • @MacJWitDaCheese
      @MacJWitDaCheese Місяць тому +10

      Over the top kills yes but the comedy gotta be dialed down a bit, a balance between how menacing Freddy is in n1 and n.n. with the fun and creativity of the kills in 3-5. Essentially like pennywise

    Ladies, you keep mentioning CGI effect in this franchise. In this time in the 80s, horror movies like NOES could not afford to have any, so these effects were all old school practical. In fact, in the history of cinema, it is horror movies that helped pioneer practical effects as so much of it was developed for these films, like the original Fly and The Thing from the 50s and continuing on into the 60s, 70s, 80s and so on.

    If you think about what Alice is doing in the suit up scene, it makes all the more up lifting. She removes all the photos from her mirror, something she hated looking at (Lack of self confidence) Then she puts on a piece of item from each of her fallen friends, something that represented a positive strength for each person. By the end she has stripped all negative from her persona and replaced it with confidence through help of her friends. Which works with the idea that nightmares represent our inner failings and fears. And with no failings and no more fear, the are no more nightmares. Hence, no more Freddy.

They added the palm trees, the sand, I saw how they filmed all the scenes except the explosion of the castle. I saw how they pulled the fin claw from the water to the sand. “A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master” ~ Is the fourth Nightmare on Elm Street film, released in the year 1988, directed by Renny Harlin. Despite the Dream Warriors' best efforts, critical reception was mixed, but it did so well at the box office that it grossed $49.4 million at the domestic box office on a budget of $6.5 million becoming the most successful Slasher Movie of the '80s. It was the most financially successful movie in the Nightmare series until Freddy vs. Jason came out in 2003. (I have the movie poster hung up on my wall in my room, definitely the best “A Nightmare on Elm” Film Of All Time! Also it has the best Opening Scene In Horror Movie/Film History! And Best Soundtrack Of The Franchise! I truly love it it’s my favorite horror film of all time! I enjoy this more than all of the other films within the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” franchise cause of the concept of it being The Dream Master basically like Lucid Dreaming, see in Dream Warriors it showed us the audience that more than just Freddy can have powers within the dream world but in Dream Master it showed just how far someone can take those powers. But what I love most about this film that shatters any other Horror film in my honest viewpoint is the protagonist Alice Johnson played by Lisa Wilcox…Alice starts as a timid/weak individual but grows into a strong powerful woman thanks to the journey/progression she goes on throughout the film. What makes her so intriguing tho is as Alice’s friends die she start to notice that she’s absorbing elements into herself. So when Rick dies she can suddenly fight,and when Debbie dies she gains strength etc. etc. by combining all of her friends powers she’s able to become THE DREAM MASTER! She then confronts Freddy in the dream world and by then she goes toe-to-toe with Freddy and WINS! Which is just so freaking badass and makes it my absolute favorite horror film of all time what a genius concept. And I prefer this over “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors” mainly cause I’d much rather see one main protagonist kill off the evil villainous monster in Freddy, instead of a group of teens feels more rewarding especially for the final battle at the end to be honest.😈🙌🏽🎥🎞️🔥)

    I saw this as a kid in the theater. This was when Freddy was at his pop culture peak. He was doing guest appearances on MTV, there was an album released, talking pullstring Freddy dolls, you name it. This one hold a nostalgic place with me since it was my first Freddy theater experience. Not to mention a fun cast that had chemistry and a great soundtrack.

    the fact that nobody even asked how some dude managed to drown himself in his own waterbed is kinda, the most hillarious part about this movie.
    pretty sure those don't come with a zhipper to get into it in the first place, but even if they did, nobody heard the waterpump needed to fill it up with water?

    I think that while the specific karate moves are from the brother, when alice is doing all the flips and acrobatics thats her channeling Kristen's dream powers cause remember she could do all that in the third movie. This one is my favorite of the "lesser" films. No one will ever top Nancy imo but i love Alice so much and love the arc they gave her. The surreal elements in this film also were SO fun and even tho i think the overall cartoony tone the franchise takes arent my fav from a critical perspective, it's just all super fun and entertaining!
