I respect your choice to keep your children off line; too many experts warn that nefarious individuals will do awful things with those photos, or worse, come looking for those children. I say keep them offline, until they are old enough to do their own channel. We don't need to see everything about your life and family; you show us enough content to keep us satisfied. What do I enjoy watching from you? EVERYTHING. With your teaching background, you explain and communicate with us in a concise way, without the mindless blathering. May Your Holidays Be Bright!
To answer your question about content. Most people who subscribe really just want to see more of what they've seen in the past, whereas the new, experimental stuff will always be met with mixed reviews. Some people who like the camping where it's pretty light and you've brought along your food, won't really care for, or will even hate seeing you kill and cook on site. I personally enjoyed the video of you setting up camp, going out with your shotgun, bagging a squirrel, and cooking it there with some fixings you brought. I wouldn't mind seeing more of it! Just understand that people have made careers out of demonizing hunters and killing for food is something many folks these days are not exposed to, so it will simply not sit well with those kinds of people. No disrespect meant.
I quite like the mix of what he has on his channel, however I do miss his more bushcraft survival shelter videos, but I do recognize they are also uncomfortable and cold compared to a tent, so it's not realistic to do regularly as it's a misery to make a video out of.
Content- my favorite videos are the bushcraft shelters. Always hoping for more of those. Or maybe as a twist- making shelters or camping in different types of terrain such as amidst some boulders or rock ledges, build into a hill or shoreline. Always love seeing Jax and your Pops.
For me, just keep making the videos you enjoy doing! I’m not someone who hunts, but I can appreciate the reason why it is done in this case. More importantly, I appreciate the content you keep uploading. Keep up the good work and I don’t think you could have put it any better when commenting on keeping the family private. You are a true gent!
my favorites to watch have been you and your dad building things together. I also like the tips you give about surviving in an emergency with what you have on you.
I love the hunting content and think it’s important to teach people where food comes from and how hard it is to obtain without a farmer/supermarket. I also love the different camping and sleeping setups you use and learning what the benefits/downsides of each are. But honestly judging from the other comments I read we all really just enjoy you doing you mate keep it up.
Lovely to see you with your dog. About your family, I for one think that what you do by not showing your family deserves nothing but respect. About the hunting videos, loved it and no bits go to waste. Keep upthe good work.
Hey Mike, I have enjoyed watching all of your content over the years, and I have to say you do you brother, I like it all, camping, hunting, bushcraft, fishing, etc etc. i say just continue doing what you do. I know you asked us to comment below in the comments but I think if you just keep doing what you do, it will appeal to all of your audience.
Hello Mike, I haven't been camping in quite a few years but in my younger days we would finish setting up camp, collect fire wood, get the fire going and then prepare a really nice supper. later sitting around the fire the beers would come out and perhaps some ginger brandy and we would joke and tell stories...the stories were always better when we broke out the brandy...funny how that works. This would continue sometimes till 2am and we didn't have to worry about the neighbors deep in the woods of Maine, we were pretty much alone in the wilderness. I really enjoyed that time around the fire...So Mike these are the things I enjoy watching along with building things around the camp. This is why enjoy your channel and I get a big kick out of watching Jaxx and his back pack, that dog is a character. Also send my regards to your dad I love watching him as well..he is too funny. As always, Thanks.
🔥🔥🔥Greetings, colleague, an excellent overview of the tent turned out, with a stove. It's so emotional, atmospheric. Still in winter, but in minus -50 ° C, with measurements of temperatures, humidity, inside and outside at different times, carbon monoxide levels Perhaps there would be a better advertisement on UA-cam🤝🤝🤝
I love the big project content. Viking house and camp building. Forest management was pretty cool. But, most of all it's always nice to see father and son get together and build something together.
I say both! It's fun just going out camping, but going out on a over night hunting trip is awesome! I say do what you like doing, because you're not going to please everyone, brother!
The content I’d like to see more of is bushcraft style videos. Different ways of starting fires. Different fire lays. Different wood to use for different things.
I enjoyed watching people building different shelters, overnight or a multi-day camping, hunting, trapping, fishing, foraging and survival type of videos. I also like watching homesteading channels.
Always enjoy the vibe on the channel, camping, hunting, building, always relaxing. Good on you to protect the privacy of your family always, keep doing what you enjoy.
I don't mind the hunting videos, and my friends talked about this too. They said if they didn't want to see it, they just wouldn't watch that episode. If people complain, they don't have to watch. Do everything, you ask us what we want, we want everything. There's so many of us, you CAN NOT go wrong. people always complain, and always will. Remember that's 1 voice in a 2.37 Million..
Enjoy your children... you owe no explanation to anyone. Mine are 16 and 12 now and it goes far too fast. Reminds me that seeing you and your dad have a bit of fun together in the woods is wholesome good feels.
Hey Mike. To answer your question, i actually enjoy pretty much every type of video you make. The reason primarily being that if a person is surviving, they would not just build shelter or fish or hunt. They would do all of those and more. However, it’s all up to you. Keep up the good work👍
Content I like to see is tips, hints, knowledge of the wild, how you sharpen your blades, how you make traps, sometimes just plane camping, bushcraft. But more importantly, I like to see you doing YOUR thing.
Camping, cleaning up your woods bc of informative knowledge, kayaking bc I'm not able to do, just do you. your channel is one of the better ones I watch so keep up the great work.
The part I enjoy the most is the cooking, both what is being cooked up but also just the act of cooking in the tent, especially when it rains, seems just so cozy
We've been watching your videos for over a year, and we like camping and firemaking, and watching you cook. Also like when you have a guest with new skills they share with us. We love your woodland and what you've done with it so far. Your Dad is a cool guy, love seeing him. We live in Idaho, USA and we'd love to show you our wild lands, so stop on by! Keep the content coming!
Nothing but nothing looks more in harmony with it's surroundings than a drenched Lavvu with a smoking chimney.Poetic almost ? and it amazies me that they're not being widely manufactured these days given their large international appeal ?
In the long run, doing what you love will always be best. You will come across as more genuine and passionate versus forcing content you don't want to make.
Just putting my 2 cents in about content. I’m Canadian and grew up camping and spending time outdoors. I really like seeing the similarities and differences of European camping. Just the super chill camping vibes are awesome. Thanks!
Another splendid video thank you. I've had a really stressful emotional day at work and just watching a rainy camp video with a humble tent and stove with a loyal dog and master enjoying a trip, makes my evening. Just do what makes you happy.
Mike, for me, I enjoy the solo camping episodes (particularly the hot tent camping) and the bushcraft art of fashioning tools and items with your axe and knife. Having your dog along only makes it more enjoyable. I also appreciate your decision to keep your family private to these episodes - probably a wise choice. Great video and keep doing what you do...
Here is what I would like as a first world vegetarian. Being a veggie is luxury and I see that I would not be in a survival situation. So having some knowledge on all things survival are essential. So a spattering of everything is perfect. Thank you for all of the knowledge you share with us. (60 yr old female Northern Ireland UK)
I enjoy all building, camping (all seasons), campsite cooking in pizza oven, hedge rows with brush, woodland life, foraging, not hunting. People are weird about kids, great that you avoid that while they are young, a glimpse lets people you have a family. Love the stuff you do with your Dad!
Honestly just do what you want! Me personally I don’t care! I do love catch and cooks! But I also love the camping and you exploring with your dad! Do what you want! I’m sure most people will agree! ❤
The content I like watching are the videos of you building structures with your dad and developing the woodland like planting the boundaries and coppicing. Thanks Mike
I have to agree with a lot of the comments on here. I’ve really enjoyed the mix of content that you’ve given us over the years. From equipment to building and hunting to exploring and camping. I really enjoyed the kayaking videos you’ve done as well. Your bushcraft and camping videos brought me in but really I stay because I enjoy your personality. I enjoy your Dad and Jax. I enjoy seeing you make the content you like. I’ve seen you light up when talking about history or when your able to learn from someone and it’s infectious! Thanks for all you’ve done and continue to do.
I started watching years ago when looking for bushcraft. But as i kept watching over the years i watch any "style" of video you make. I think you're a great film maker and story teller. I respect that you keep parts of your life private as you should. Its healthy to have that balance and it shows you have a great character. Keep up the good work and congrats on all your successes.
That chimney is one of the most interesting things I have seen in a long time. As long as you put the hunting in the description so I know not to watch that video I will be happy
I enjoy both camping and hunting videos you make. My dad was a hunter and I loved being out with him as he taught me archery when I was a child, and while I, myself, am not a hunter, I still enjoy the sport through outdoorsmen like yourself. Love seeing your interaction with Jax. You can tell you are buddies and his antics just make me laugh out loud! Keep those videos coming and whether you choose to film your family or not is totally your right as their father.
Hello from Wisconsin, USA. Love camping, also shelter/ historical structure projects *and always* cooking :) Dog(s), friends, & your dad. Enjoy both talkies & asmr styles. Wilderness camper, now disabled, these videos feed my soul. Thanks 🌲
Thanks Mike for all you do to bring your videos to us. Whether you're camping or building or whatever if it's what you like to do then by all means do it because I personally like it all and I don't really have a favorite. I'm glad Jack's can join you and it's always fun and entertaining. My best to you and your family and please keep up the great work that you do.
I always think it would be cool to see you cross-over/collab with more smaller camping youtubers again! Bring 'em down to your woodland maybe? Simon, A Bloke In The Woods is one of the best on youtube imo
I have been drawn to your channel due to the content being in nature. I have enjoyed the builds, the camping, and the hunting. Just continue doing what you enjoy, it is what keeps me coming back.
I like watching you just do whatever you’re doing in the woods. I prefer bushcraft builds, but am happy to watch general camping, woodland management, hunting videos too. Though I may enjoy you interacting with your dad the most!
Personally I watch all your content. People have the choice not to watch. The reason I watch is because it's SO varies. Every one is well shoot and edited and I appreciate it all. Thanks Mike.
Being into History i loved to watch you building things like the Viking house ,Iron age round house and others but to be honest i'll watch anything you put out ,
You can't please everyone all the time so just keep doing the things you enjoy and those of us that enjoy watching will watch the videos we like and most likely even some of those we like less. It's all good to me as long as it's informative and I do enjoy watching you with you pup Jacks. He's a cute one.
What do I enjoy watching? I like to see the different ways people are camping (or even living) in nature. Most of all lightweight camping, by bicycle or hiking on foot, because I'm a bicyclist. I don't mind you hunting or eating meat. I like your dog Jax. He reminds me of my doggie, she was a Jack-Russel-type too. She went on bicycle camping trips with me until last year. Now I miss her.
This video was perfect, I think sometimes the best content is sometimes the simplest.. a man and he’s dog just simply enjoying the simple pleasures of the great outdoors 👍🏻
Keep doing what you are doing. Your family is your private space and if they want to get involved that's great. However, your privacy as a family is more important than the comments section of UA-cam from a bunch of random strangers. Great videos.
The best thing iv seen overall was your time with your dad and Justin where you we’re building the Viking long house and all the cooking that was with it too plus all the bushcraft learning between it
I love to see you and your father together and having fun..Makes a old lady smile,,thank you from Florida,,Merry Christmas to you and your family. 17:44
For me as far as content, it is more enjoyable to watch a creator who is truly enjoying what they are doing. It the creator is not enjoying what they are doing it shows . So do what you enjoy truly to make it the best all around.
Forgot to add, it’s you we’re watching. It’s relaxing and varied. Escapism from mundane life. You enjoy what you do and thus just keep doing what you do.
I think you're absolutely right to protect your family , there are so many trolls and haters and putting your children on UA-cam you could inadvertently end up exposing them to that which you really don't want to
I enjoy watching you do overnight shelters with 24 hr ration packs. I enjoy your tarp and lavvu camps as well. The best ones are the ones with your dad. ❤
Your best content is when your spending time with your father. I imagine we maybe fortunate enough to view your father spending time with your children and yourself. Then when that day comes you will be spending time with your children and their dreams. It has been an honor watching you and your family dream big and try to capture it all for us.
Anyone complaining about not seeing your family is being entitled - your kids’ wellbeing is far more important than any UA-cam video. I enjoy all your content, and think you should focus on what makes you happy, since if you’re putting in all the effort of filming and editing, you might as well be doing stuff you enjoy. Having said that, I’d be happy if you did some woodland management content, as I’ve just bought 2 acres of ancient woodland up here in Northumberland (which I’m very excited about), and could do with as much info on the subject as I can get hold of! Jax is looking awesome in his harness 🙂
Hey Mike. Thank you for doing UK based videos in the winter in the rain. It must be a nightmare for the filming kit but it is very informative, educational and entertaining to see.
I love this channel so much, only bush-craft videos I can consistently watch no matter the day. No matter the content you make, I'm gonna watch it, I'm just so invested into seeing your woodland transform, and see the new kit you get.
Hunting might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s part of history. Not something i would chose to do, but informative. Something to know about, and brings us closer to living off the land. Which if done right, is respectful and healthy for all.
You and your dad together is always a treat, when I see him in the video thumbnail I'll fire it up immediately. I also enjoy the fishing catch and cook videos, also a lot of fun. I've enjoyed your forest husbandry videos, too, though.
My favorite video on the whole channel was the overnight in the Viking house with the other guy sometimes comes on your channel. It was an hour or two long and the two of you cooked plenty and had some good conversations over the fire. The elements of being in a Viking house in the cold, hearty cooking, and some good times, all make for the content I like. I like most of the camping vids, and I like the vids where you camp in the medieval and old school shelters as well. Keep it up!
I've been watching your channel since I was in high school and over the years I've enjoyed the lot of your varied content, just you enjoying doing what your doing has always been great to watch. I especially enjoy the more cinematic moments you get in there, with the sounds of the woods and you chopping wood - I know some content creators get worried about repeating the same shot too much in one video but I could honestly watch an hours long camp set up and wood chopping or hedge laying video. Love all the Jax content too, but most importantly do what you want to do, it's your channel and we love watching your ideas come to life
I love your videos! just btw You want to fry the sausage first and get some color on them before you add onion and paprika, give it a good 5 minutes before you fill it with tomatosauce.
I like watching camping/survival videos. I also like to hear life advice from the person camping. Its def uplifting. Also, they also make silicone collapsible dog bowls too.
I like seeing you happy, in your environment, so I'm always just going to watch the stuff that you enjoy making. It shows more than you may realize
I guess I'm saying I'm here for your personality, your energy
@@mrping2603 Totally agree, he is awesome! Great job Mike.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of it! my favorites to watch have been you and your dad building things together. I also like the tips you give about surviving in an emergency with what you have on you.
I enjoyed the videos where you, did research on WWI and WWII and also hunting for food, survivalist Bushcraft, skills.

I have to say, You, Uncle Graeme and Jax doing a build is your best content also bring back the Theories!
You enjoy what you do and thus just keep doing what you do.
its nice to see a mindfull parent
I enjoy the videos that feature, you, your dad, and Jax all working on a project. They always make me feel good inside.
Just film what you like doing. We will keep supporting and enjoying.
This video is my favorite type of content. I love winter hot tenting and watching it.
I really enjoyed the coastal foraging and cook up episodes. I love a bit of bush tucker.
I would like to see more builds of huts , cabins, and buildings like that, Viking House for example
I personally like your camping videos that are almost ASMR-like with a few interruptions of you talking about what or how you're doing
I really like the mix of everything you do but ones like this are just great to watch at this time of year.
Keep it up!
I like watching anything you do. But i really like watching you do stuff with your dad and bushcraft tools
Love all the Jax content too, but most importantly do what you want to do, it's your channel and we love watching your ideas come to life
Your family, your choice. Anyone who’s annoyed they can’t see your family needs to ask themselves some questions.
