You need comments? So here a big shout-out for you. Even as a German citizen I learn so much about my country. Nobody comes up with the stuff you explain. And you are always very well prepared and informed.
As a EU migrant I can say trying to make sense of a new country raises a lot of questions that many locals don't know or have thought about. Like why do you have administrative regions and cultural regions that have the same name but not the same boders or why you pronouns one letter one way in some cases but not others. Etc things when you grow up with them is nothing special but from an outsiders view is complexing and interesting
I'm also German and I just find his videos interesting and relaxing :)
true
I like how he avoided to say the name "Bremerhaven"
Everyone avoids Bremerhaven if one can ;-)
True that 😂 I heard it got even more sad there, since Karstadt closed.
You definitely want to visit the Klimahaus in Bremen, that was my only destination there, besides eating a Fischbrötchen off course
@@Certhasda are Fischbrötchen really an attraction to Bremen? The best I've ever had I had in a little village next to Neuruppin in Brandenburg and the Bremer ones better be made of gold or something if they're gonna beat those xD
@@Certhasda The Klimahaus is in Bremerhaven, not Bremen! I work for a contractor that is currently doing some work there, and I can confirm that it turned out to be much more interesting than I had thought before. Since I get to see the "backstage" stuff, it amazed me just how much tech goes into the whole thing and how much big aquarium machinery resembles industrial plants (which we normally work for). This added a whole dimension to the experience for me, which sadly is not something the public gets to see. (Well, most wouldn't be that interested in these things anyways I guess.)
Comment sections under Germany-related videos often have the same vibes as German forums. People just LOVE contributing ... for better or for worse haha. Great for the algorithm tho!
Next Video "What is Erbsenzählerei ?"😉
Erbsenzähler/ei is when someone places particular emphasis on accuracy. So never forget a point on the "i" and everything is checked carefully. That can be compared with pedantic or overly precise

At the moment channels about urban design and traffic planning are very popular, so maybe that's why these two videos did so well. Maybe do a video on cycling and/or car dependency in Germany?
You’re heading in the perfect direction for the channel. Whatever gets this gem more attention and is still entertaining is the right direction
I like that the Bremen governmental departments are literally named after the person who heads them. So the department for transport of Bremen is the "Die Senatorin für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Mobilität, Stadtentwicklung und Wohnungsbau". Unlike for example in Berlin, where the departments are called "Senatsverwaltung".
That is a Prussian practice. It has been dropped at the federal level because it implies the politically correct change of the title of the authority with the sex of its head.
In Berlin you have "Der Polizeipräsident in Berlin" (or nowadays "Die Polizeipräsidentin", I guess).
The Video about Bremen could be very, very interesting!

Your request for feedback at the end made me realise something bizarre: I was just finishing my GCSEs when I started watching your videos just over a decade ago - so that means I've spent about 40% of my life to date as a rewboss subscriber!
So here's my feedback: I think you're taking the channel in a great direction. You've always had a talent for presenting even the most eclectic of topics in an engaging way, and that's no different for some of the new types of content you've been putting out.
I'm glad you've been able to upload videos on a more frequent and more regular schedule than in years gone by. Do keep that up as much as you can, both the algorithm and your subscribers will thank you! Just beware of falling into the clickbait trap, better to skip a video than to churn out something you're not happy with for the sake of the clicks.
Here's to another ten years!
I am watshing your videos for quite some years now and always loved your style your dry humor, and everything, so... please don't change yourself in any way. Stay true to how you always have been and I am sure that also the new viewers will love it.

If you're in Frankfurt in the near future, you could do a video on something that is wildly popular with tram fans: On line 15 and 17 there are several historical "P" type trams helping out due to the shortage of rolling stock. I am super happy your channel finally gets the attention it deserves. Yes your topics are random and concern small aspects, often of the rural life. But there aren't many people that cover such topics, and there is no one else that I know that does it in such an interesting and charming way.
Watching your videos conveys really well what life in Germany outside of the big cities is like, which is a rather significant portion of the country. Even I, as a German that also lives in a somewhat smaller town, am always interested in what neat interesting details you come up with. I also really appreciate your contributions on r/Germany on Reddit.

The audience for content like yours is obviously limited - the attention span and level of knowledge of the average youtube viewer are too low to really appreciate what you present. I'd rather spend time on a channel where even though I'm German I still can learn something new while being entertained by perfect cuts & intermingled stills plus a speaker who can be understood clearly. Thanks for your work, and please keep it up.

Yesterday I just returned to the USA from Germany. I was there just ten days, and was hoping to see one of yours during that time. I passed by Aschaffenburg on Saturday the 24th from Nuremberg to Frankfurt am Main. The ICE ride from Nuremberg to Wurzburg was a bit slower than I expected. Bamberg and Bayreuth were nice places to visit. I even was able to ride on the newly electrified section from Lindau-Reutin to Munich Hbf as part of ABS 48. Lindau Hbf is now called Lindau Insel. Some trains have not yet been revised to reflect this fact.
Will be back in February 2022.
Writing an eleborated comment and deleting it thanks to the UA-cam App. Short summary: Berlin Boroughs are in the one hand neither "Kreis" or "Gemeinde", on the other hand they have a lot of power. More than a typical "Landkreis" or "kreisfreie Stadt". It's complicated
The Bürgerschaft in Bremen is even more complex than that. EU citizens can vote for the municipalities, but not for the state. That has led to different parliament compositions in the past for the municipality and the state. So depending on whether they are discussing a state matter or a city matter (of Bremen, not Bremerhaven) some delegates may have to leave the hall and others may have to join.
I drove through the Hösbach 'tunnel' today and thought about your video 😀
As an indigenous German in Germany I like rewboss obsessing over fine details. ^^
Have they not considered repaving that section of the Autobahn with "quiet asphalt"? It's a kind of asphalt used in the Netherlands that produces less noise in contact with the wheels.
For some projects when sections of an Autobahn are rebuild or changed they actually consider it. Lately quite a number of sections have been paved using "Flüsterasphalt" as it is named here. Except for making less noise on the outside, it actually is noisier inside the car, it also has advantages as it can drain water through the surface and prevent aquaplaning (or hydroplaning as some English speakers may insist). Sometimes they do even both. Just at the time they started planning some of those projects that was not yet a viable option. And I think it is not yet considered a good option for routes with heavy truck traffic. In some of those areas they do not even use asphalt but concrete instead, as it keeps up with heavy trucks better than asphalt. Sometimes they even do the right line in concrete as most of the trucks go here and the other lanes in asphalt as it is cheaper, more comfortable and more quiet for cars. (Concrete has kind of a cut every few meters to prevent cracking, but makes a distinct noise die to that)
Also they are quite strict and usually need some time to "certify" new materials that they see fit for the task. They still have a hard time allowing recycled asphalt for example.
Believe it or not, that section of autobahn is paved with that stuff, which added to the expense. It helps, until the tiny pores in it get clogged making the asphalt just as noisy as conventional asphalt.
Great channel there, Rewboss! I binged hours of your content this past week alone, since subscribing.
How about a video regarding the latest floods in the Ahrweiler region?
Shoutout from Austria here!
Well, I fear I´m guilty for the second part of your video from today. But yes, Bremen is a "special" case, I once readed in an English handbook of political science that the constitution of the smallest of the 16 German States would be "bizarre" - and that´s fairly true. In reality it´s even more complicated as discussed in the previous comments: The ports "in the City of Bremerhaven" are in reality an exclave of the City of Bremen. Only the Museum Port (Alter Hafen = "Old Port") in Bremerhaven is really a part of the City of Bremerhaven. So the City of Bremerhaven is in fact a City nearly without any Port - even if you can read everywhere that it would be Germanies second-largest Port-City next to Hamburg.
So you should really take a nice little trip to Bremen - and to Bremerhaven. :-) It´s worth.
Old Port comes in a bottle.
Feedback: Keep being you, it's mostly why I watch.
The amplitude of the noise is reciprocal to the square of the distance. So, double the distance means a quarter the noise. That's physics.

A point for your correction-of-the-correction video, 1:11 the inverse square law is valid for a point source only. A autobahn however is more of a line source, and the emmision of a line source drops of with 1/r, not 1/(r×r) ....
PS: did you know that Kahl am Main had its own nuclear power plant?
The situation in Bremen is similar to the UK. The City of Bremen has no administration distinct of the State’s administration, like England is governed by the UK‘s administration. Bremerhaven can somehow assimilated to Scotland or Wales with their own government.
But England with an own English Parliament with the power to make own laws for England seperate from the laws of the UK, in majority with the same Members of Parliament as the Parliament of the United Kingdom has but without the UK-Members of Parliament from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and in addition with some few Members of Parliament which are only Members of the Parliament of England and not Members of the Parliament of the UK and some few Members of the Parliament of the UK from England which are not Members of the Parliament of England, too, and the need of Her Majesty´s Government to have a majority in both Parliaments, the one of the UK and the one of England to stay in charge. Than imagine Melf Grantz (the Mayor of the City of Bremerhaven) talking with the voice of Nicola Sturgeon - and you get an idea how Bremen is governed. :-)

Berlin is divided into Bezirke or boroughs and each Bezirk has a Rathaus or town hall and Buergermeister or mayor so I would argue that the city state of Berlin has municipalities. I can't comment about Hamburg as it is something like 40 years ago when I lived there and even then only for a couple of months.
Perhaps your visit to Bremen and Bremerhaven could be extended or followed by visits to other places in the general area - it's rather underrepresented in YT videos. The Naturpark Wattenmeer would be one interesting topic.

@@gustavmeyrink_2.0 Ja.
For the algorithm, I give you my comment!
Well, the Bezirke in Berlin actually do have legal standing, their own parliaments (Bezirksverordnetenversammlung) and their own administration (Bezirksamt, under the leadership of a Bezirksbürgermeister). And of course, each Bezirk has several "Ortsteile". It is just a lot more condensed than a normal state, but has a similar structure after all. And that does explain extremely different reactions to a lot of things, as of course each Bezirk has a different political leadership and party structure, for example Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is extremely active in building new bicycle infrastructure, mainly by taking street space away from cars, while other municipalities or Bezirke are not active in that area at all. And while Berlin is governed by a SPD-Linke-Grüne coalition, some of the Bezirke are actually governed by CDU based leadership. Which makes for interesting clashes between Senat and Bezirk ;)
Legally, Berlin's boroughs are not "Gebietskörperschaften mit Rechtspersönlichkeit". This does not mean they don't legally exist, but that they don't have the same status as a "Gemeinde".

Greetings from Bremen
A lot of that is just "Haarspalterei"
what are your motivations to make videos?
Here is the feedback that kinda isn't.
I've been watching your channel for years now. The content is consitantly good and concise. And there's just nothing to point out that's bad or that could have been done better or that you should get rid off. If I were to really really squintch to find something, I'd say the outro song is medicore and about 20% too loud.
But let me point one thing out. A lot of channels are going down the road of making to many sketches, put in too much meme editing or camera effects or what not. Or even including a lot of swearwords only to beep them over. I've no reason to assume, but please don't go down that road.
Your steady camera with good audio quality is a perfectly fine running system. Don't deviate.
I have no intention of adding gratuitous effects, memes, profanities, and so on -- it's cheap, trashy, and doesn't suit my interests or my personality. Also, the channels I take inspiration from the most, and some of them are very successful and popular, don't use any of those tricks.
It's more about the choice of topic and the focus of individual videos, while still keeping it all about Germany. And more location work, to break the monotony of endless vlogs.
To the best of my knowledge, Bremen does not have a single back-to-front supermarket. Not worth the trip.
What is a Gemeinde is for sure a complicate topic - for native germans so forget about the tiny point that were questionable while the big points were right.
I appreciate your efforts to be accurate, a lot more than other channels that talk lightfooted about stuff they did not know nor research till they hit a line of critique or fire cause germans will tend to fire back if things are explained wrong.
Then you will get a full "Breitseite" better known as broadside.
Funny part on that is that germans use military term from the navy even though for most of the history war ships were not their first choice except the submarines which did not shoot in broadside.
Well....keep the Humor up....your so funny....and you do make interesting little Video`s....

May I suggest how to get new audience and keep the old as well. Add trains, trams and food. Furthermore increase British humor and sarcasm and talk about any hillarious and odd things happening in Germany. Finally use 'Between the Lines English' language in order to make German heads spin and lost in translation. ;)
Bremen is its own city and not a municipality as there still is a city called Bremerhaven
I'm always confused with states and countries. I think the order of what enclosures what is the reverse in German and English. Is Germany a state or a country ?
In U.S. terms, Germany is a country (nation) made up of 16 states.
The term "Land" probably has you confused because it can refer both to nations, states (the smaller units), the country side and real estate. Normal Germans tend to use "Land" to refer to nations, while politicians/administrators use "Land" to refer to the states.
The whole nomenclature is a complete mess. Rewboss needs to make a video about it.
@@TheSquarecow Right, and there is a special similiarity between Germany and US due to their federal construction.
