Power doesn't go to keyboard. If you try plugging it out and back in it does eventually but you would need 20 pairs of hands to do it the way you have done. Please tell me where I'm going wrong
I came searching for a solution to my FireTV stick reboot issue and the issue resolved itself while watching your video. In my case, it looked like the system was finishing the update but as soon as I tried to use an app it would report that an update was required and then it would cycle through the download and installation of the update. I was surprised that after five or so update cycles, it finally worked! Maybe it's just bad coding on Amazon's part, but I'll admit that my stick was unplugged for the better part of a year so maybe it just (stupidly) had to install every update available since it was last online. Just thought I'd put this information here in case anyone else is in the same boat: just keep going through the update cycles to see if it eventually finishes.
November 2024. Bought two identical Fire TV sticks. First installed and worked perfectly, second is stuck in the loop. None of your suggestions worked, none of the buttons on the remote worked. Changed the batteries in the remote and made sure they are inserted the correct way round; i.e. both facing the same way as shown inside the battery compartment. Noting how many people have been having this same problem for the last couple of years I think these devices are just really cheaply, and poorly, manufactured. I will send the faulty one back to Amazon and get a replacement and try again. I did like your video though and thanks for the advice, even if it did not work for me.
Gen. 2 stick. Got safe mode by your method but it won't open settings icon. Just lights it up. Open other icons and it just loops on them. Obviously Firesticks need a manual reset push pin on the stick itself. Won't waste money on another unless they get one that's for sure.
for anyone who turns on their firestick 4k and gets loading then nothing blank screen etc... hit the Netflix app button or prime tv on the remote if either app loads try holding down the home button till you get the settings option and go the main settings screen and look at the profile and see if for some strange reason you've been signed out, if so then go through the steps to sign back in again and well... it worked for me lol
I'm confused. Where's the power coming from? Isn't the OTG cable supposed to have a port to plug in your Firestick power cord? How are the Firestick and keyboard being powered?
1) That's not an OTG cable, it's a mini hub. *if* it supports OTG at all (most of them don't; a few of them claim to but don't), it's entirely irrelevant to this problem. (If anyone used an actual OTG cable this wouldn't work - no power.) 2) Fire TV sticks do not have a 'charging port'. The micro-b input is the power supply - there's no internal battery in the fire TV stick. So disconnecting the power supply and plugging in an unpowered hub is not going to power it up. You quietly ignored the fact that you must have had to use an external power supply for that hub - which will be an uncommon round plug, not a micro usb that people might already have, i.e. one more thing to buy.
You're correct kiddo & what's needed is one of the short OTG Splitter cables with 1x short lead with Male Micro USB to plug into Fire Stick & 1x short Female Micro USB to plug your original Fire Stick power supply into, & at other end 1 Female USB-A to plug the USB Hub into (like he has in video). Not sure why he failed to mention this, or how he powers his up if it has it's own power input, but would've been a good idea to mention the OTG Splitter cables (& show one) for those who don't know about them & are not getting power, can be picked up for around £4 on Amazon' or eBay.
All the videos that I see on UA-cam, which talk about how you can remove the bootlap using buttons, are all complete crap. All these methods do not work. Since when connecting cables through an external cable, the keyboard does not receive power.

What if you have a mini keyboard where the only way to use printscreen is if you use the function button? The problem is the function button also changes the i button.
You said you've been trying to break or bootloop your fire stick. The easy way to do it is to install Google Play store . Amazon don't allow Google Play store on their device. Since Google is a different company and Amazon it's a different company. Even though it's Android compatible. They block Google Play store it will not install on fire stick. If you try to install the APK . While it's downloading. Unplug your fire stick. You try to turn on your fire stick again and it will be stuck in Amazon boot loop logo .

I have a Firestick 4K Max, and this has always done to on mine from new, and the Firestick was new this year. Whenever mine goes into SHUTDOWN it never comes out. Totally frustrating and annoying as I used to be a TV and Satellite technician, so pretty good on all things audio and video tech lol I now use an OTG cable as that is the only way I can get it to start after it has shutdown, and only way it comes out of standby is to "HOLD SELECT AND PLAY BUTTON DOWN FOR 10 seconds" it then resumes boot up, which then loads to the Home screen after loading. - Something else it does as well, it will not recognise no External Memory Storage from USB stick, I have tried 3 OTG cables to get an external USB memory stick to be recognised with no joy, plus 4 different brands of memory cards/sticks, all with no joy. - This Amazon 4k Max Firestick is fully up to date, if it didn't have these minor faults I would love it, but tend to find myself going back to use the Android box I have, since that is much more reliable, and so much easier to bootup, and if it goes into standby it comes out with a simple push of a button, something my Firestick has never done. - By the way.. Yeah, but just because you manually put it in loop doesn’t mean the rest of us can get it out. Every situation is different like mine was due to a software update and it reset and never booted back up again. I didn’t have to force myself into it like you did to get your way out of it because you know how to get out of that boot loop the rest of us it doesn’t work

I have a Fire TV model DV83YW. It uses a wall wart by default so it's plugged in. I also have it connected wired and not wireless. I have tried the remote and a keyboard. Neither helped. I have also left it in the boot loop for over an hour and that did not help. Anything else I should try?
I desperately need help. My 4K max is displaying 'android recovery' and the option to reboot or factory reset. There is no way of selecting either, as the remote won't work! I've tried everything, including attaching a keyboard. Not even Amazon can sort it. Can you please help?

It’s very first update rebooted and went to a fire stick screen and never came back out stuck here if I have to go buy equipmentthat I just paid almost $70 for this thing then no I’m never gonna get another fire stick again, and I would recommend everybody else to stay away from the trashy fire sticks.

Thumbs down for this video. If you're going to upload videos to help people who are already frustrated, you better not add to the frustration by using wrong terminology or skipping steps. 1. You're device isn't called an OTG cable. It's a micro USB multi port hub. BIG difference for those of us who don't want to go to Amazon to purchase it. 2. You didn't even bother to explain where you're getting the power for your Fire stick. My advice is follow your own steps for your tutorials and verify whether they make sense before posting a video.

Yeah this sucks. I have the fire tv (television) which no people talk about.
Usually my bootloop is because of overheating & too much cache being used (Kodi). Unplug it and get some cooling on it.
The only thing that worked for me was putting it in the freezer for 45 minutes.
Plugged it back in when it was ice cold - all working fine again.
Tried it many times with no success , fire stick now in many pieces in the bin……..Nivedia here I come.
In the video you can see that as soon as you press the keys it goes to safe Mode, but even if i press for a while nothing happens

There has to be another way- the remote hard set wont work in the loop, or when your on the home page.

1. You're device isn't called an OTG cable. It's a micro USB multi port hub. BIG difference for those of us who don't want to go to Amazon to purchase it.
2. You didn't even bother to explain where you're getting the power for your Fire stick.
My advice is follow your own steps for your tutorials and verify whether they make sense before posting a video.
