Jan Hammer - 'Crockett's Theme' (Cover Version)

The song was composed by Jan Hammer for the hit NBC series Miami Vice which was aired between 1984 to 1990. Although not a big success in the United States, 'Crockett's Theme' was a smash hit in Europe, reaching number 2 in the UK and Ireland Singles Chart and a number-one hit in the Netherlands for 4 weeks! Jan Hammer used the Fairlight CMI, YAMAHA DX7 and LinnDrum a lot. I'm pretty sure that some of the software synths and samples that I've used actually were used in the original. But I know he didn't use the Prophet 5 for bass and pad which I've done. Instead he did use the legendary Roland Jupiter-8. I recorded on cassette on dad's old YAMAHA KX-500 to get a more analog and genuine sound. Enjoy!

10 yrs ago I downloaded software and the crack patch had this song playing. I loved it so much that I forgot about the software itself. I kept closing and reopening the crack just to keep listening to this cover.

Thank you! I don't have the Garageband file anymore, but I think it was a present of the Prophet V in Analog Lab which I modify a bit. If you go through all the bass presets you should find it.
