Hi Alex, Thank you for sharing your trip. I use chargemap rfid card and app, very usefull in France and abroad. Always a pleasure to follow your trips.
Hi, I am about to travel from the UK to Hungary through France, Germany and Austria in a Zoe (q90). I ordered an Izivia and a new motion card. Do you think those will be enough or should I sign up for a chargemap card also?
@@tothroth Hi Andras Chargemap card gives the widest acces to the charging point in France. I don't use new motion nor Izivia. New motion card seems ok. Chargemap is free, so you don't loose anything to try.
Thanks for sharing your trip! Its quite interesting how Zoe works, especially in winter: @11:11 you don't get full speed, because the bms is already throttling down when the battery is >33°C afaik. Outside temperature was 1°C. I assume you used the trick to turn on the heater while charging ? (set pre conditioning to +15 mins and open and close the drivers door?) If yes: Then the active battery cooling is not working. Still not testet, but heard it: When in Winter the battery is actively cooled, you have to set the heater in the car to max temp - and you get warm air without doing the "preset / door trick". Its quite frustrating when the rfids are not working, especially in foreign countries. We did this summer a 4,5kkm trip though France. If I haven't ordered the Chargemap card, we had to turn drive back home at day 1. 99% of the Chargers were not usable via App. I recommend you to get the chargemap and plugsurfing key for europe trips. Im looking forward to my next longer trip with my Q90. Go on! Greetings from Karlsruhe :)
Yes you are right, I used the pre-conditioning to heat inside while charging. Because we will extremely freeze, with that negative temperature outside ;-) I never heard about that, that the battery will not be actively cooled, when heating inside with preconditioning. I will check this... Thanks for that hint. When we were before in France and Switzerland and Italy, there was no problem with my Apps and also not with the RFID cards. I was able to charge everywhere. But the problem with that Czech station was, that everything was only written in Czech language, no English. Maybe I should download something to use it... But how can I know? I can't read it... ;-) Cool that you have a Q90 too. That's very rare in Germany, only one dealer in whole Germany sold this car. And I really love the quick charging speed.
Great video, thank you for sharing. Could you please tell me Is it the Canze app you are using to see state of charge? I am planning to go from the UK to Hungary in August. Also anyone know how can I get a Z.E pass in the UK, I don't seem to find any info on it...
Yes I am using the CanZE app. That's most important gadget to see the state of charge and not some estimated kilometres I don't know if Z.E. pass still exists. Best for traveling around Europe is EnBW. One price on all chargers all over Europe play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.enbw.ev&hl=en_US&gl=US Maybe you can always find a more cheap one from a local provider, but EnBW works just everywhere.
@@eDriverThank you for your reply. ENBW is not available to download in the UK. Perhaps I can do it in France... I ordered Ivizia and Newmotion. Someone suggested Chargemap pass, is it worth getting as well do you think?
7.1Kwh in 12 mins " that's fine" lol My Ze50 does not even do that on CCS! I got 4Kw in 12 mins earlier! I need an understanding wife like yours because I can't see how you are married otherwise!
Well, charging depends very much on the battery temperature and the sate of charge. So even the battery is very empty, if the temp. is below 17°C, the DC charging power is below 20 kW. Just right now in winter time, I was also charging two days ago, where the battery temp. was cold 0°C and 10% SOC. but the DC charging power was only 6 kW, even it was a 43 kW AC charging station.
@@eDriver Hi, can I ask if consecutive rapid charging in summer (30 dgrs) temperature will damage the battery? Should I wait half an hour before rapid charging, do you know?
You took some risks my wife wouldn’t be happy with there, but an exciting video!
Great overview of your trip! I subscribed! Great that you are collaborating with your wife on your videos.
Thanks for your comment and your subscription. I appreciate that!

@@tothroth By that time (2 years ago) the shipping was free and then you could use for free with the free charging device

@@eDriver try the google translator. It translates in realtime in augmented reality :)

Alex, again you use freecharger at Kaufland. Everybody should make it your way.

Alex, next time use the Google translate app. You can just point your camera at the text and it will translate it into German from Czech....
Hallo

I am not sure. I was also wondering, why the battery temp is that high.
