*This is not crazy, it is called "clever marketing".* No shade on Billie and her brother, they are both very talented, no doubt. But this from zero to hero narrative is completely made up.
1.) Making music from your bedroom is not that special. Ed Sheeran, Charly Puth, Shawn Mendez did the same. Almost every big band started from their parent's garage / home. Even legends like Paul McCartney and the Beatles. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates startet their billion Dollar business from home, too. It is the usual way to start with music or a business, when you are young a.ka. broke. You do what you are passionate about from your parent's home.
2.) Her album was mixed by Grammy Award winning mix engineer Rob Kinelski. So making music from your bedroom is possible, but you still need a big budget studio / sound proved home studio with a ton of equipment and sound engineer know how to make it sound the way it sounds now. There's a lot of technical stuff involved about frequencies, compression, side chaining etc to make the music sound good in every environment (e.g. headphones, ear plugs, in the car, with big speakers, in halls...)
3.) Her parents and Finneas are deeply rooted in Hollywoods entertainment industry for decades. So their relations to important people in the industry helped for sure.
4.) Before Billie got famous, her parents hired a management team and organized a joint venture deal with Louis Vuitton. So the parents and LV invested big money to make her daughter famous.
Again: No shade on the artists. I just corrected the false "from zero to hero" narrative. They didn't start from nothing.There is a lot of money. establishment of close ties, and management know how behind their success.
She is a kid. Her life is a whirlwind right now and she seems so comfortable. A natural born star. Good luck girl.

I think it baffles her how famous she is now. She said she always wanted it but never thought it would really happen. Now she's living the dream. What's even more amazing is that she and her brother did all this at home in his bedroom instead of a studio filled with musicians and producers telling them what to sing and how to sing it. Now she's the hottest selling artist of this decade. Way to show them how it's done. I'm impressed at how humble and caring she is. Both her and her brother share the same ideals in life and have an amazing relationship that drives them to do what they love and gets paid for it. Now that's the American dream.
