Ok, I've started Down the rabbit hole. I've narrowed my first wallet to these two... Which do you suggest for someone looking to just invest, not daily transactions, just monthly investments but not looking to leave on exchange
What about wallet fees? When you use the Trezor or Tangem wallets and send/crypto aren't you charged fees? Is Trevor or Tangem more expensive regarding these fees?

The only fees you pay when send crypto is the blockchain fee. It’s not charged by the wallet
Can you give me your suggestion, I received my tangem but I haven't configured it yet, I decided to opt for the seed phrase, but I don't feel very confident in a combination of just 12 words, I've been using 24 plus one passphrase in the last years. I could be being paranoid, but creating 24 and importing to tangem would be an option? In relation to the passphrase, how does it work during tangem recovery? One more question, can you tell me if the seed phrase created automatically in tangem is 12 words too?
The odds of guessing a 12 word phrase are 1 in a decillion (1 with 33 zeros after it) basically impossible.
The odds of getting striked by lightning every day of your life, multiple times per day, is greater than someone guessing your 12 word phrase.
If you want to import 24 words created on another wallet do that. Tangem only generates 12 which is more than enough.

What do you think about having 2 HW? 1 as a warm wallet for smart contract transactions (buying and selling small cap tokens, listing NFTs, etc.) and the other is used as a really cold wallet (not using smart contracts at all, only sending and receiving crypto).
I'm thinking about using Tangem as a warm wallet and Trezor Safe 3 as a cold wallet.

Agree, it's a really good idea, but if so, why you need 2 HW? The warm wallet already could be coverd by onlie/software wallet, like Metamask etc.
If I were running a validator node could I use one of these cold wallets? Or does it have to be online (Metamask) all the time?
You can use Trezor, I’m not sure about Tangem. Here’s an article from Trezor discussing connecting your wallet to your own node:

Do you know if you can use a Chromebook to access the Trezor using their web suite?
It’s not officially supported. But you should be able to use it. Try using the Trezor Suite for Web in Google Chrome. You can do this before even buying the wallet.
I want to know if the Tangem keys are generated on software on the smartphone before sharing with the cards or on the are generated on the card.

The seed phrase is generated from 12 words in the phone, then seedphease converted into a private key which is thereafter imported into the chip of the card, and finally, the seed phrase is deleted from the phone. This process can be verified in GitHub, because the app is open source.
Can we generate the seed phrase offline?
You can use your cell phone with Trezor if you use correct usb cord you can manage with cell phone on both not just desktop

What I'm wondering is who has more coins and cheaper fees to like swap?
Would it matter if u just went and did all your swaps in a hot wallet and then transfer those coins to your cold wallet?
I’d say Tangem supports more coins at the moment. And fees aren’t necessarily based on the wallet, but rather the third party used to process the swap. I’d recommend using a decentralized exchange for swaps.
After watching quite a few of your videos, I am convinced to get the Tangem wallet. But I have a one concern, which is, is it safe to approved transactions based on the address you see on the app but not being able to verify it on the hardware wallet itself?
As long as you download the official Tangem app, yes it’s safe.
Huh... wait.. tangem does not let you import 24 keyphrase... at least that was my latest info. Only up untill 12 words, or did they somehow change it in the last 2 weeks?
It only generates a 12 word seed phrase but “You can import a seed phrase consisting of 12, 15, 18, 21, or 24 words.”

So you’re saying you won’t update your wallet?
To answer your question: No, it wouldn’t be compromised just because you don’t update it.
But updates are crucial for usability. I’d update it as often as possible.
But if you’re just going to stash it away for a couple years, it will remain safe.
Just got my tangem last week. I love it. Just bough some more XRP directly in the app and 3 minutes later its in the wallet. Cant wait for the PayPal option to become active.

Can I use Tangem on desktop pluging my smartphone?
Tangem is only compatible with mobile devices that have an NFC antenna (Android or iOS only)

Thanks for watching! And that’s completely fine. The wallet isn’t attached to your phone.
Your private keys and signing of transactions is done by your card. All you have to do is download the Tangem app on your new phone, scan the card, and enter your access code.

@jamesgeorge65 The one thing about Tangem is that its firmware is closed sourced (but it has been audited by two cybersecurity companies).
This is a personal preference though. Some people prefer closed source, others open.
The Tangem app is 100% open source though.
Trezor on the other hand is 100% open source.

Idk what “best for everything” means.
There’s several factors to consider:
• Coin support. Which one supports the tokens you want to hold and manage?
• Skill level. Tangem is the most user-friendly wallet on the market. If you’re not tech savvy, this might be a good option. Otherwise, Trezor is also fairly user friendly.
• Compatibility. Do you prefer desktop or mobile? Trezor is mainly used as a desktop device while Tangem is a mobile only wallet.
• Security. Both wallets are secure. And while Trezor offers more security features, that doesn’t mean you’ll use them. Tangem has less features but is still secure and has never been hacked.
• 20 vs 24 word. This depends-for 20 word are you referring to the SLIP39 backup method offered on Trezor? If so, it’s a good option because you can upgrade to multi share, later, if you want to.
Otherwise, 24 words is plenty secure.
Multiple addresses and native staking will be BIG 2:03 2:05 for Tangem. “Patiently” waiting… 🤞

I believe so, yes. Also you can download a Bitcoin only firmware for the Safe 3 :)
I've downloaded the bitcoin only firmware onto the safe 3, but it doesn't work on sparrow wallet as yet. Hopefully there will be an update soon.

That’s hard to answer as “best” is subjective.
Tangem = more convenient, more durable, mobile-only, app is open source but firmware is closed
Trezor = less convenient (still easy to use), desktop only, 100% open source

The thing i don't like about tangem is that (please correct me if i am wrong) it looks like if you chose to generate the seed phrase instead of letting the card use it, it becomes a more fancy hot wallet.
That’s not correct. A cold wallet means the private key is stored offline on the device. This is still the case with Tangem.
With a hot wallet, the key is stored in the software which is connected to the internet.

Tangem is highly rated on both Google Play and App Store.
There are always going to be negative reviews, but the positive reviews outweigh the negative reviews by far.
It’s not perfect by any means, nothing in crypto is, but ime Tangem has been great
The only problem with Tangem (and correct me if I am wrong) is that you can't stake any of the cryptos stored on Tangem.

How will malware on phone be able to withdraw funds as you need Tangem physical cards to transfer crypto?
If malware got a hold of your seed phrase, your wallet can be accessed from any wallet.
@cyberscrilla the seed phrase is on the cards so how would it get hold of it?
The seed phrase is briefly displayed on the app when you create a new wallet (so you can write it down) so if malware has eyes on your phone at that brief moment of time, it could get it.

If you lose your hardware and your seed phrase with the any hardware wallet you loose all your coins. You can make two copies of your seed phrase and store them but then you are right back where the Tangem is. The odds of losing all your Tangem cards simultaneously is slim to none and I hear Slim left town. Trezor makes an excellent wallet but I don't see security as the major differentiator. I see the lack of HD support as the biggest drawback to Tangem. Big privacy issue but not a security issue.

The reason there is a discount is because that is common place for affiliates. You click the link > buy > that earns a commission. You might be thinking of paid sponsorship. But, a lot of people that have paid sponsorships also have affiliate links on top of that anyway. The bit about not having to worry about anything failing is definitely incorrect. 1) Manufacturing isn't perfect. Products can be shipped DOA. 2) There are for sure people that have cards which failed. I'm not sure how you haven't received any comments to that effect (or chose to ignore them?).
It’s few and far between. Obviously mistakes happen, nothing is perfect. But the majority of cards manufactured are good. I’ve received maybe one comment about a faulty card. Which doesn’t even let you set it up if that’s the case.

Every youtuber says "tangem tangem tangem." Show me the thousands of dollars in crytpo u have on it and il think about it.
I’ve talked about this numerous times and Tangem has already covered the issue.
The broken seals although scary don’t mean anything for security.
The app verifies your wallet and firmware is authentic when you set it up.
And I have a large portfolio stored on my Tangem wallet.
Had the same issue… it’s terrible when you think about it…
