Helvellyn via Striding Edge in Winter - Snow Day in the Lake District

I take on the classic Helvellyn route via the ridges of Striding Edge and Swirral Edge in the winter snow and ice. The ground conditions were perfect with a nice covering of snow, but I was engulfed in cloud. After leaving the summit of Helvellyn the clouds lifted to leave a nice blue sky day in the Lake District. I bagged a couple of new Wainwrights, Catstye Cam, and Birkhouse Moor on the way down.
This is a classic lakeland walk that every fell walker should complete in summer, and those more adventurous soles should tackle it in winter too.
