I can relate to this so much but it's been about 22-23 yrs for me..pretty sad, eh.. I wish my Dad was still around to chat with. He was the most honest guy - ok maybe not the only one as I've had many guy friends and a couple were downright honest which I loved. I saw my parents hurt each other & our family with certain lies and I didn't care how bad I hurt one feelings because you always got the truth from me. Guess it did hurt me in the end but it is what it is. I wish my husband now loved me like he used to. The last 8-9 yrs it's been hectic. I just long for that touch or a kiss or something even an "I Love you" but I get nothing. My family passed so all I have are my kids now. I can't tell you how many times I just wish I wasn't here anymore but then I think of my kids, my son mainly as he's the youngest. Damn this got me feeling so many emotions right now. I'm sorry dude, I apologize. Guess I'm just in one of those moods after listening to this & a couple others. We all deserve to be loved, I do believe that. I love this song. My sister and I crank up the radio every time we hear the first beat. I'm always smiling like an idiot because it makes me think of my husband. We've been together since we were 16, where we lived in different counties, different ways of schooling (I went to public school and he was home/cyber schooled), but we met at the same church and were introduced through my younger brother. We've been married for over a year and a half and I can definitly say that I don't love him like I used to. I couldn't imagine my life without him. Sure we have our arguments and disagreements from time to time, but at the end of the day, there's no one else I'd rather spend my life with.
My sister and her boyfriend have been together for going on 6 years now and, even though her boyfriend doesn't like country music, he agrees with everything in this song. (It also helps that my sister loves country and also smiles like an idiot when this song plays, lol.)
It's really beautiful when a song can sweep up your entire being, feelings and mind, and make you feel like you're floating. The way the music, rhythm and lyrics(not to mention that his voice is like butter!) work is a complete masterpiece and I can't wait to listen to his other music.
