I laughed because they didnt belive i wasnt from tanzania until i opened my mouth lolol. Bottomline we are one people but scathered all over the world. I traveled to Tanzania on Saturday February 6th solo traveler from America beautiful country beautiful people lots of fresh fruits and vegetables feels good to shop with my PEOPLE! Was there for one month will be returning in July! I got my hair braided at a shop for $40USD the locals thought I was Tanzanian very peaceful country! Can't wait to return!😉😉😉
Vivian, when i was visiting the energy i had i think was spirtual. I couldnt keep still, i was all over the city the markets are like jamaica markets OMG i loved it. I only wish to speak swhali. At one of the stall they were even playing reggae music. Lol. I cant wait to go back. My only disappointment is that we cant purchase property unless we are in business hopefully that will change one day for us blacks trying to return to our ancestors land.
I've only been here one month today. Someone in South Africa walked up to me today, and started speaking to me in thier native tongue. I just smiled with such joy, knowing that I fit in as a local. When I spoke, she switched to English. This was a good day.😊

Mark I first went to Dar in ‘91 to help build Ubungo powerplant at morogoro rodi and Nelson Mandela. There was only one gas station in Dar at that time. I went back in 2005 for 3 years to help expand the powerplant to what it is now. Good luck on your adventure in life and business.

Mark I haven't seen you in your best African dress yet? As an African, you must have a bargaining power. It is very normal with locals, so you as foreigners are use to prices on goods Africans don't have price tag on goods. Best way to bargain is to always start with half of the said price and climb a little.
In Africa your neighbors are your best family. Walking in the night alone not always good, because Africa is not void of criminals, especially those who'll attack you for your wallet or or valuables. Security is in your hands, the police will not come to save you. Love people, but don't always trust people this goes with humans from every race or country.
When you said "Don't walk at night," I thought you might say because of nighttime traffic. I saw that, in several of your videos, there were no sidewalks in certain places. I know that in Ghana they say don't drive at night because there are no street lights in certain areas--it can be difficult to see the road, stopped vehicles, pedestrians, etc.

As a Tanzanian living in Germany this is what i can say we have good Internet access but also most telecommunication companies are owned by Indian (example .airtel and VODACOM )you all know we all depend in Google the worlds leading software company (so we don't have satellites) if it fails today we cannot do anything more.It could be revolutionary when we got an African company. In my opinion its safer to walk at night here in some cases. Of course it depends on the area but I think that it's just a general rule universally. I still do it but mostly because there are no people looking to harm me where I walk. I'd say use your intuition 😉 💛

I really don't want to go book in a hotel but just beign accomodated amongst the locals just for a week or two _ to get the feeling of the country. The greeting shkamoo has slavery roots to it, was used by the arab setters/slave traders. It means "i am beneath your feet" African elders held on to it for some reason but religious folks dont use it, infact they condemn it, better using religious greetings like " peace be upon you " or habari za saa hizi or just habari
It is respectful for elders. You can't meet with an elder person and greet him/her normally without showing respect. That is the way we're leaving. It is no more that slavery
I'm a tanzanian, The greeting of "shikamoo... marahaba" is a respectiful greeting to elders. You cannot greet somebody with the same agemate with your mother/father/grand parents etc.. using the word "habari". It is very irrespectiful. We use "Shikamoo" to respect them

Ask muslim religious folks and you will know why it shouldnt be used, its projected as respect because elders adopted it however it has disturbing history, that is why some elders will get very angry with you if you dont greet them like that, why the anger? But a religious elder will not answer to it, they will even stop you from using it.

Ask muslim religious folks and you will know why it shouldnt be used, its projected as respect because elders adopted it however it has disturbing history, that is why some elders will get very angry with you if you dont greet them like that, why the anger? But a religious elder will not answer to it, they will even stop you from using it.

I will need to pick up a new mic soon. The boomstick I got needs some attachments and I was speaking too low. I hope to improve the audio quality eventually. Hopefully soon😁
