He was really tiny when spotted and rescured. Great job by the pilot, the nursery people and all who assisted his entrance into a herd of his brothers and sisters. Peace...
The poor little guy’s cheeks were completely sunken in at first, as Dame Daphne said is a sign that the baby elephant is starving. Thank God that Taabu was rescued in time, thank you!!
It seems no expense is spared on these animals, in a country with one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world and 25% of kids in Kenya will not make it to their 10th birthday because they lack the basic necessities in life like food, medical care, and clean water. Yet the priority is put on these animals? I wonder how many children would benefit from a hot meal, and a private plane ride to see a doctor? Absolutely Shameful.
Pilot comes home from work and his wife says, "How was your day?" Pilot says, "It was great, my passenger slept the whole flight." Thank you guys for doing God's work.
Eu já estava chorando daqui assistindo o socorro do bebezinho ainda vou morar na África para ter um servido de cuidadora de elefantes meu sonho um dia vai realizar graças a Deus 🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
You can always spot the newest orphan by their natural gray color skin. After their first time hanging with the rest of the elephants, they turn orange as if they've gone through an initiation process dusting with the clay dirt at the nursery. So glad he was rescued!
I think that they keep the dirt covering their skin because it's a sunblock so their skin doesn't burn. Elephants naturally often cover themselves with dirt in the wild for the same reason
Breaks my heart that humans can be capable of such cruelty. Who could harm an elephant, much less an elephant that has babies? It sickens me. Thank the lord for rescues like these, saving & caring for these sweet orphans. If I could take their places I would. 💔
He has very soulful eyes, as though he can look directly into your heart. Naleku was a good choice for his first companion. She's calm, caring and very confident. Welcome sweet boy, you're safe now! Thanks very much as always to our #HeroesInGreen ! 🧡🐘
I really want to give a big Thanks to your organization on behalf of myself and many other Safari hunters. You and your donors are going to give us the best hunting weve ever seen in about 5 years when these babies became insatiable adults put into a shrinking habit. Most definitely there will be an overpopulation problem, these beasts will destroy entire ecosystems and they will either be a cull or they will sell hunting licenses begging for us to come correct the trainwreck you and your donors will cause. Talk about a target rich environment! Thanks again guys 😂 by the way how many sick and hungry children did you fly over in the private plane on your way to rescue this beast? Shameful !

Although it is sad to see this many new orphans in a year, it is so heart warming & hope fuelling to witness the constant effort everyone at SWT pour into every rescue. Thank you for your inspiring courage!❤️

I love the new carriers with the lifting straps! So much easier on the Keepers backs and it creates a nice sling for the baby Ellie’s! God bless you all! It is a wonderful blessing for the world that you are continuing the legacy that your mother left to you.
I can't wait to see how many hunting licenses they'll have to issue to curb the elephant overpopulation that will be caused by this organization and it's naive donors. That will be some good hunting in about 15 years.
The best gift in life is to give. Giving to animals and the welfare and happiness of any animal is life changing and will be reaped with rewards in this life or the next. I can’t think of anything more important.
The little bulls can often be especially sweet. My all-time favorite was Dika rescued in 1988. If you are unfamiliar with his story you can still find it on the SWT website. It is worth the read!
Africa is such a unique country, unique wildlife, unique people, God bless all who helped with the rescue of this precious creature, we should be doing more to protect all life on this precious, unique planet, After all we are just suspended in the universe at some higher "beings" mercy
Thanks to everyone that saves these beautiful little treasures that roam the earth. Sending many thanks to all and much loves to all the orphans and animals in need. 💚
Tabuu is the first elephant I met when I visited Sheldrick Center last summer! Beautiful soul. So glad he’s in good hands. God Bless you all for the work you’re doing 🙏
DSWT never ceases to amaze me when it comes to the saving and caring for these amazing gentle Giants as well as any other animal in need. Thank you, Thank you ♥️♥️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘♥️♥️
It must be a relief to feel those, strong warm hands scoop them up with the steady sureness of confidence and hope after being alone in the wilderness.
I hope that one day we could see the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge come to visit the Sheldrick Trust with Princes George, Louis and Princess Charlotte! I think those young children would be delighted and the Duke and Duchess could chat with you Angela and those wonderful keepers too!

It’s probably a lion or hyenas killed the mother elephant or the baby elephant was rejected by it mother & his herds
I love how they bond and nuture each other...
Thank you for all your hard work helping these beautiful babies. You are truly appreciated.
