In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil narrates the story of Chittagong armory raid under the leadership of Suryasen, an Indian Revolutionary who was a member of Anusheelan samiti and led to an armed struggle against British Raj. Also known as ‘Master da’ Surya Sen formed a revolutionary group with his students and attacked the police armoury. The group also planned an attack on Pahartali European Club in 1932 under the leadership of a young revolutionary Pritilata Waddedar. Watch Complete video to know more.

@@greatkaafir7478 That is known as transition of power... and after many years of struggle, sacrifices and painful protests, the Indian Independence happened more in the form of negotiation and transfer of power than in a pure war-like win. No sacrifices were small, and even the so called veer who wrote clemency letters to British did his part unless of course he joined the British and agreed to spy for them.

reading his lines gave me goosebumps but now we are gradually turning into an autocracy forgetting every sacrifice of great freedom fighters.
We need benovelent autocracy to develop our country. All countries in the last century China, South Korea, Turkey, Singapore had benovelent dictatorship which transformed them. It's not an imperial dictatorship or Fascism but rather for the benefit of the people to dictate high quality public education, basic amenities and robust economy etc. An uneducated, underdeveloped society does not need democracy atleast the way it is practiced today where citizens are just voters in front of political parties and not citizens.
Even Netaji wanted 20 years of dictatorship in free India to develop it and put into order.

Irony is India is still oblivious to the contributions made by these freedom fighters (read Heroes).. hardly anyone knows them outside Bengal...from Prafulla Chaki,Khudiram Bose,Rashbehari Bose,Bagha Jatin,Jatin Das,Benoy Bose,Badal Gupta,Dinesh Gupta.....the list is endless and Surya Sen's army was basically an army of school boys aged between 12-16 years
