Hey, wanted to say thanks again for all you are doing. I've been around vw's longer than I want to admit and really enjoy the Real Street drag racing competition videos. Your shop action and engine dyno too. Keep feeding us more go fast info and action. Stay safe, Peace
@@volkstroke my best memory regarding the product. My first car was a 1966 Buick Riviera. This was 1980 and I was 17 years old. That car had a 425 cubic inch, four-barrel carburetor. Turbo 400 transmission. And it traveled like you were floating on air. With all of that and the luxury and accessories it came with it was almost overwhelming for a seventeen-year-old kid. So that was a great experience. NOW HERE IS THE BEST ONE. I was in the army stationed in Germany. The unit had a Volkswagen vanagon as a bus, and other administrative means. It was simplicity with 4-speed manual, and an air-cooled engine in the rear. It was painted military olive green. I got to take it out on a joyride. So I got a hold of the keys and I took it out, and it was a great favreneugen (driving Joy spiritually speaking , the German word). And there were other times as well that I got the opportunity to operate that on the Autobahn. This experience with that vanagon was the greatest driving experience I ever had. The luxury cars could not match the joy that simplicity, the interaction with one hand on the wheel, one hand on the shifter, right foot for the gas and the left foot for the clutch. And with it being a cabover design, there was greater visibility for what was going on. There is nothing that could compare with the experience I had with that vanagon bus. I would flatly reject most of the so-called complexities on four wheels , that are complicated messes of big tech garbage. BEAUTIFUL SIMPLICITY, or complexities of confusion. Choose One. That is a very good story man I appreciate this message. I tell people the simplicity of this cars are amazing and it’s super involving gotta love it 😍 I think why they are so famous in Japan they are very much in the spirit of simplicity and utility and simple design lines and function and reliability over over engineering
@@volkstroke thank you for your reply. Here is a quote from Mikhail Kalashnikov, the designer of the AK-47. All simple things are useful, all complicated things are useless. That has always been my motto (end of quote). The AK-47 is a masterpiece of brute simplicity, and near-perfect reliability. Kalashnikov opposed changing the design, it has remained nearly unchanged other than minor technical details. He came to America and met with the designer of the M16. Look up his interviews they are amazing. They are brief but you will learn the wisdom of this man and his own philosophy on simplicity. He passed away in about 2012, 94 years old. He was still working I think up until the end.
That is so cool of the rules. Very competative. Just watched Drag Week. If and when it comes back to the West coast, you and your people really need to attend! Ya'll have solid motors that can stand the week. Cool stuff!
And it’s a not a race it’s just passes there’s nothing like actual competition and qualifying pairing up and going rounds. Definitely a big following on that stuff and I could definitely run the 1/4 but going on the freeway and driving 200 plus miles on a short box would take 5 hours
@@volkstroke Awesome! Thanks, guess I’m setup then. Keep up the great work! Lovin the videos. Moved out East to FLA about 20 ago from the SFV and the scene here just isn’t the same. You thinking of coming to bug jam? Or is that a big negative?
44s Better for daily driving, not for smoking fools stop light to stoplight…Also Dellorto makes a better all around carbeurator, but they don’t make 48s!!!
Love to see and hear these cars go light to light on the street. Even just a few years ago they say it couldn't be done. Can you share your wheel alignment specs front and rear ?
With Klink, Geers, Lauffer, ect. Coming to play, what do you think the E.T. record will get down to? 6.50s possible in the next couple years or nah? Also do you think more ".big" names will join too like Berg, Sachette and so on?
Adam wick is coming to the next race. And Jack has said something but hasn’t shown up so idk. The bergs idk don’t think so when they were involved with wink it was awful. Don’t miss it at all. The class can’t get any faster than a tenth possible we are already in territory that’s pushing the limit. Multiple People are 30k plus deep in the engine alone. To go 7.0s
@@volkstroke True to everything you said. I thought sub 7.50s was impossible for stock IDAs but you did it. Keep up the good work, keeping VW racing alives never been easy.
Are you running the narrower early fan in your fan shroud and do you run with the belt off? Is that a Saco or Bugpack crank pulley and what is the diameter? Your car always looks fantastic!

Glad you like them!
Good info
Glad you think so!
There is ABSOLUTELY no substitute for the 48 IDA.
Nope
Maybe a dumb question, but what kind of difference would you see between a 44IDF to a 48IDA on a 2180 9.5.1?
It would actually be better off with a pair of 44 Webbers

My lady thinks it’s so ugly lol
@@volkstrokeits cool and all but you should shorten it up a little, it’s sticking out way to far my bro!
Just made it as far as the rules allow for
I wonder how much the under deck lid turbulence effect the Air fuel mixture going down the track, car looked good at Treffen
Idk but ran 6.97 25lbs over weight so
