The grin on Johns face when he stomps on the gas pedal and looks over at you is absolutely priceless. Great build John. Love the motor. Love the custom art morrison chassis. Love the ford blue exterior paint. Love that you built something different.
Very impressive bus. The look is awesome. I'm also really pleased he kept the IRS with the AM chassis. I think the only really shame is the way the engine/trans takes up so much space. I would personally have used a transaxle like a mendeola or similar. That way you could have some passenger or storage room in the back.
I love it, it’s different and quirky for sure. I’ve always loved VW cats no matter what model, it’s just something about a rear engine engine simple technology that makes my day. Thank you for sharing the video, awesome build indeed.🎉
We use to say that the VW Bus brought the victims to the scene of the accident, you’re sitting at the windshield. This brings that to a whole new level.😞
I don’t know why more people don’t do things like this with vans how cool would a Lamborghini motor look with glass windows all along the side? Good stuff love it
I wonder if he thought about fabricating removable rear fenders for access to the wheels? Dropping the rear end doesn’t sound like fun, especially if you are going through rear tires on a regular basis…😅
I would love to see a version of the bus. With a front grill from a International V grill oversized and frenched. Maybe even increase the size and width of the size of the bus.
I love a split window type 2. The only thing that kept me from buying one is that driving one, you are the thickness of the front sheet metal from the idiot that pulls across in front of you or brake checks you. .030" of armor. You are the crumple zone. Yet I still ride motorcycles. Yeah, I don't get it either....
as a 18 year old working in a bakery here in australia 1985 my boss had a split window combi van ,he fell asleep behind the wheel and rear ended another vehicle at maybe 60 kilometres an hour ,both hes legs were taken off just above the knees ,Art is a genius im prayin this never happens to this cool owner
This is a 5.2 flat plane crank Coyote, shifting at 8500 rpm same as the GT350. Bigger injectors and a turbo will push over 1500hp all day! I’d love to throw one in a Willy’s jeep or a mini jet boat😂 thanks for sharing
Otherwise I love the mechanicals EXCEPT EXCEPT EXCEPT.... WHAT ARE YOU THINKING PUTTING THE ENGINE IN THE INSIDE BEHIND THE FRONT SEAT. MAKES THE ENTIRE REST OF IT USELESS. TOTALLY USELESS.
As someone who grew up around Berkeley (land of buses), I’ve actually been dreaming of doing something like this since before I could drive. It’s interesting seeing this, and seeing just how close the layout is compared to what I thought of. The only disappointment is the automatic transmission because a bus just NEEDS that big stick.
I knew a guy named Joe L. back in 1975. I was 14 or 15y o and he's was probably 17 or 18. Anyhow he was a "motorhead" and put a V8 in a run down VW Bus creating the first "sleeper" id seen in my youth. I wonder what became of that dude. His younger brother was Tim.
That’s awesome, a 5.2 Alluminator. Almost 600 hp out of the box. No turbo or super charger, just 93 octane. Way to not put a Lame Shite engine in this. Probably sounds a little better than the VW engine even tho they were cool sounding in the bus. I’m sure the purists don’t mind 😜
OK the Engine is wicked but the paint job is totally crap guys. I don't mind the black wheels but come on what's with that bumper, the light blue. It's just not right.
Well, they just wanted to make it close to a Volkswagen as possible always working on a Volkswagen now they can always work on a Volkswagen with a Ford motor
Wish someone would do one of these without having the engine ruin the whole back of the Combi so you can still check the family dogs boards and everything in it but that is pretty sick
I know what you mean about feeling like you're gliding along. I once got a little too stoned in my old van while going down the motorway, and got pretty freaked out by that feeling.
If nobody's excited before he opens the doors, he's going to the wrong events. A '57 Type 2 is all kinds of exciting, never mind how freaking clean it looks!
i want to like this more but i cant...was hoping it was still rear engined but as it stands its just a style exercise since the interior is now pretty useless...im sure its still fun as hell, but not my cup of tea
Wow, Loving the 57' VW Van Coyote swap. Wish more Ford Projects would hang out on the Ford Power Plants. Hardly ever see anything with my favorite 390 CUI.
Insane for the membrane! Great video and at the same time made me jealous! I think the only thing missing is a crazy paint job. I really liked the VW Spider in the background of the video. Thanks for sharing. I gave it a thumbs up!
Dude, 500hp..? Good lord! Lol very cool build! Ive always been a chevy guy, but i LOVE the coyote! Its truly the best v8 for tuning. Thats a fact, not my opinion.. lol
Yes, coyote power baby!!!! Nice car, I really like buidls like these, out of the ordinairy. Much love from Aruba. Congrats
Aruba, Jamaica, ooooooh, I wanna take ya.Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama. Key Largo, Montego
I was brought up in Chevy family but I always loved the sound Ford v8 makes. It’s a very unique sound to my ears.
I love Buidles too! 😊
As an owner of older VW Beetles this is one awesome VW, I’m loving it. ❤
So nice to see an engine swap with an American V8 that is not an LS
Why? Sperg.
Gumout
LS is better though 😂
@@effingwrecked1917 ls breaks Down
@@twohydraz8 Also LS the most easiest v8 to work on. Less moving parts inside LS v8 making them more reliable.

Right
Great build, clean & professional work, spot on mate

John is an awesome guy and you should show his split window VW bug and his other bus.
If that's not the coolest thing I've seen. It's the second!
A Mustang Delivery Bus . Gorgeous . Lovely sound .
John is really cool guy, plus he let's his friends drive his other cars as well. You should do one on his split window bug as well.
does john have a Chanel?
@@errolh1674 no he does not.

Yes it' s. Crazy ! Very dangerous ! 😢
I don’t know why more people don’t do things like this with vans how cool would a Lamborghini motor look with glass windows all along the side? Good stuff love it
THIS GUY IS AN ABSOLUTE MAD MAN!!!! Respect for this build!
I always wanted one , with a roots blown big block Chevy in the back , with weld wheels and flow masters 👍👍👍
I wonder if he thought about fabricating removable rear fenders for access to the wheels? Dropping the rear end doesn’t sound like fun, especially if you are going through rear tires on a regular basis…😅
Beautiful ❤. I’m not a purist in any way, so swapping that horrendous wheezy air cooled engine would be the first thing I’d do. It looks badass too😍👏🏻
I would love to see a version of the bus. With a front grill from a International V grill oversized and frenched. Maybe even increase the size and width of the size of the bus.
Eat your heart out Dave Kindig!!!! Awesome bus!!!!!
Quel intérêt ??? Aller vite ? Pourquoi ? Non homologué en cas d'accident .... pas habitable .
This would be illegal in California. Sorry, I mean “undocumented” 😂
Crazy build!
No it wouldnt. Pre-smog 1976 and earlier this would be 100% legal in California.

#supremevdubs That’s got to be the fastest toaster I have ever seen 🤟🏽
Love to see the underside on a lift. Wondering how the air flows through the radiator in the rear cabin and out back…

(6:44) If that tire shreds at high speed, say goodbye 👋 to the dangling cherries 🍒 down under.
That's just wicked!

Thanks for watching!
With safaris open ? When you drive speed ? Very dangerous !
Finally some space to work on the engine. 😊
This is probably the coolest builds I have ever seen! So well done and the word "unique" falls short for this VW/Ford lol.
This is amazing! 👌😎
Greetings from Germany! 👍
As a Coyote user, I love the build and the passion that went into this VW. Looks and sounds sick! Thanks for sharing with us.
This channel is taking off! You definitely bring a unique look and feel to your videos ! Awesome job man!
that bus is a show stopper forsure, i bet he talks to a lot of people at shows when he pulls up haha
This VW Kombi is a great project.
a hug from the Brazilian kombeiros
The no seat belts is a little scary but what an amazing build👍😁
A motorcycle is safer🌟☠️☠️😂… no roll cage, airbags, no front end!! .. it’s Always the others guy’s fault… great show car..
Russian roulette ! With your life !😢
What an amazing bus. The attention to detail is unreal. Thanks for sharing this 🤟🏼
It would be cool to take that bus to the Autobahn.
Otherwise I love the mechanicals EXCEPT EXCEPT EXCEPT.... WHAT ARE YOU THINKING PUTTING THE ENGINE IN THE INSIDE BEHIND THE FRONT SEAT. MAKES THE ENTIRE REST OF IT USELESS. TOTALLY USELESS.

Everybody does LS... uhhhmmmm ya, because it fits, works, is, plentiful, cheap, incredible and makes tons of power with incredible reliability.

NICE...........Tom Daniels and Monogram created similar 1:24 scale custom VW bus's in the 70's
FJB TRUMP2024 FJB
Lovely but you can’t use it as a camper anymore
Good call captain obvious
OK the Engine is wicked but the paint job is totally crap guys. I don't mind the black wheels but come on what's with that bumper, the light blue. It's just not right.
Anyone driving a car without a seatbelt on is an idiot, PERIOD. Put seatbelts in that thing already! Damn, damn nice ride though! 😎
That looks awesome
👀Talkabouta Sleeper-HUH👀
Coyote instead of an LS, means it's a nice non driving van. Great museum piece 😂😂😂😂😂. Nice ride!
Would've been nice if he could have kept some seating in back; otherwise it's just a 2- or 3-seater now.
Well, they just wanted to make it close to a Volkswagen as possible always working on a Volkswagen now they can always work on a Volkswagen with a Ford motor
The reason why people go fo LS its because is historically reliable and way cheaper . Ford finally are building a good v8 again.
Wish someone would do one of these without having the engine ruin the whole back of the Combi so you can still check the family dogs boards and everything in it but that is pretty sick

This will make you look twice when you hear it go by. How dare you say this Coyote and Prius in the same video never mind sentence. 😜
I used to have a 57 bus , great job I love it. Is that spider bug outside your shop from the palm springs area ,l saw one the along time ago.
If nobody's excited before he opens the doors, he's going to the wrong events. A '57 Type 2 is all kinds of exciting, never mind how freaking clean it looks!
Thats awesome man I'm glad you chose a Ford motor 💪🏿 instead of Chevy LS junk
Old VW van with no seatbelts and 500hp to the wheels.. what could possibly go wrong? ☠
Ls is so so played out and you can't make them any nicer than the last guy.. Coyote power is and always will be the greatest!!
i want to like this more but i cant...was hoping it was still rear engined but as it stands its just a style exercise since the interior is now pretty useless...im sure its still fun as hell, but not my cup of tea
Not the first bus I come across. Around ten years ago a gut in BC put a 501 Caddy engine in a bus.
Made an antique combi useless for its intended purpose carrying cargo over rough terrain. Is it a sports car now?
Love it Sir . Great build with great pieces. Well done! Want that so bad and isn't that the point. ;)
Finally the motor VW should have something to cross the sahara in quickly 🙌
Wow, I saw that beetle spider before. This must be in Mt Dora. Love the build.
Wow, Loving the 57' VW Van Coyote swap. Wish more Ford Projects would hang out on the Ford Power Plants. Hardly ever see anything with my favorite 390 CUI.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Definitely appreciate it 🤘
I had a v8 in my corvair. Couldn’t keep it from overheating.
Incredible build and attention to detail
Should have done a camera shot on the outside without bringing the camera inside when he floored it so we could see it move
I don't think "It sounds like a prius" is ever taken as a compliment....
Small crash and your head goes SPLAT with that hard interior.
Thats a BEAST❤❤
Hey John...get Nicole to drive that thing and it's good to see your doing well.
So impressed with your content Austin! Thanks for chasing this down and featuring this great build! Great motor, great bus!
Thanks for the kind words! Definitely glad I was able to film this one!
VMP tune, guys, where like
Lay Out The Lines😅😅😅
Love guys who spend stupid money on crazy builds
I feel like these two broheims most likely partook of a doobie at some point of filming.
Love the Ford motor. LS engines are like rectums, everyone has one.
💯 Best video and best Bus on the internet hands down 👏🏾
I loved, but could be done on someone with windows.
He need a sticker that say beware of coyote!!! Sneaky little bastards lol
Amazing idea and build quality ! This is really something special.Hat's off,Bravo ! 🌞
why not put a new Porsche 911 turbo motor in it and keep it legit,
Dude, 500hp..? Good lord! Lol very cool build! Ive always been a chevy guy, but i LOVE the coyote! Its truly the best v8 for tuning. Thats a fact, not my opinion.. lol
I Really wanted to say COOL But all I see is a waste of a great van and an awesome engine
beautifull ok very nice but fasten ur seat belt .... please instal them
Awesome, headturning ride. Great job!
This and that front mounted twin flat 4 squareback are going into my fantasy VW fanboi collection.
Good thing about it ,you van work on the engine & not worry abot the weather.
He should buy another one and paint it the same color but make it a rolling pull behind camper… it’d look so trippy!!!
8 to 1 header to wrap over trans, make some art in tubing.
I wonder if you could fit a 426 Hemi in there?
Ruined
Thanks for not putting an LS in there.
