- Letting go of all my silkie chicks in the morning.
28 silkies here for the moment and 8 silkies at my fathers home. Got some usa silkies , eu silkies and some eusa silkies.

Ja het gaat moeilijk zijn om er weg te doen 😔 maar als er veel haantjes bij zijn moeten er een paar weg...
@@Koekoek-en-co ja... als je ze zelf uitbroedt zitten er meestal veel haantjes bij😔. Maar als je geen hanen hebt of als de hanen overeen komen dan kan je ze houden.
Ja inderdaad, heb nu 1 volwassen haan die ik zowizo hou en dan als ze samen gaan nog een 2-3. Maarja de rest moet dan wel een nieuw plaatsje gaan zoeken...

Ja ik wist het wel op voorhand maar toch is het niet makkelijk... dan moet je echt van je hart een steen gaan maken en een keuze gaan maken welke er mogen verhuizen.

@@Koekoek-en-co I really like white silkies and silkies that are white with black "dots" on them.
Yes they are beautiful, the one with the black dots are paint silkies. We also have white and red, they are redpyle's 😁 you can see them in our new UA-cam movies 😉

I would not have a rooster with my girls with their chicks. And this one is even chasing the moms 😢 Thats not nice for the girls.

You let your silkies free range like that? hawks don't take them? I have a lot of silkies but I'm afraid to let them run loose like that because of hawks :(
Yes, but now we have places a bird net over the coup. After a while we lost some chicks to the birds. But now they are completely safe 😊
@@Koekoek-en-co Yeah, in FL the hawks are super bad here. And during the norths winter all the Eagles fly south for winter to Florida. So I lost a few large chickens to eagles this past February. I seen an eagle with a 10 foot wing span pick up one of my salmon favorolle hens that weighed over 10 pounds like it was nothing!
@@Koekoek-en-co So I don't even try to let my bantams out at all. They have a enclosed run with wire on top. I have silkies, sutans, bantam cochins and a few old english game fowl in that run. I do let my main flock of large hens free range but I lose a couple of those a year to birds too.
@@poshpoultry8721 wowww realy?? Here in Belgium we dont have that kind of birds 🙈😊 only little ones who come and steal some eggs and baby chicks.
@@Koekoek-en-co Oh Okay. Yeah I am not too sure about in Germany how birds of prey are there. But I would assume you probably have falcons and some type of hawk. Most eco systems have birds of prey.

I got one well hubby got me one 🙈😅 since I started like a little kid 🤣🤣🤣 he got me one we have regular chickens but the baby stays inside until he or she ground 🤭

Kun je een silkie haan in een buurt met nabije buren houden? Of maken ze toch teveel kabaal?
Da scheelt natuurlijk van haan tot haan. Maar hier zijn ze heel rustig en kukelen niet veel. En ik heb nu een 7 haantjes zitten. Buren hebben op die 4 jaar nog niet geklaagd 😊 en op sommige momenten heb ik 10-15 haantjes rondlopen 🙈

Neen dat waren nog europese zijdehoentjes. Maar dat is 3 jaar geleden 😊 in de loop van de tijd zijn we overgegaan op enke Amerikaanse zijdehoentjes.

Tnxxx 😁 last year I bought eggs from different people and hatched them in the incubator. At this moment we have 21 chicks and 25 baby chicks 😊

Hi there! I am getting my 3 silkie chicks that I don't know the gender of in about a week! They are really small, just hatched about 2 days ago! I'm ready to meet the little baby chicks and I also have already chosen names! I really hope I get 3 hens and not 3 roosters because I am unable to keep any roosters. So if I get a rooster I may not be able to keep it but we'll see. I might get too attached to not keep it! Anyways I've chosen 3 names!!

Hiii, that's good news 😊😊 with silkies you can't see the gender at this young age. Some people can see it but for me it's waiting till they get older. I hope you have 3 hena so you can keep them all 😊 and nice names btw 😊
@@Koekoek-en-co i had my silkies sexed at birth. Because i can only have hens where i live. They're 3 weeks old now! I cannot wait till they're older!! Yours are beautiful!

Zeer goed, die volgen de 5 oudere kuikens 😁 en dat klikt heel goed met die andere. Ze zijn meteen geaccepteerd 😊

Nee voorlopig heb ik een teveel aan hanen. Dat ik vandaag kon zien heb ik er zeker 6-8 haantjes tussen de kuikens zitten. Heb er al 2 tekoop staan. Een koekoekje en een splash koekoekje.

Inteelt?? Neen hoor , daarom dat ik eitjes heb uitgebroed van verschillende mensen hun kippen zodat ik volgend jaar nieuwe bloedlijnen heb. En de kuikens die ik nu heb zijn dus zuiver.
