Protecting Exterior Wood the Japanese Way ⛩️

Need your exterior wood to last a long time? In this video I combine two old techniques to protect wood against the sun, humidity and insects. The first method from Japan is called 焼 杉 yaki sugi or 焼杉板 shou sugi ban where the wood surface is burnt. The second method used is to apply a mixture bees wax (Campeche bees wax) and boiled linseed oil.
