Make Your Own Plastic Toys (with silicone and corn starch)

- I recently discovered this really neat thing you can do with corn starch and silicone...make rubber toys! @TheKingofRandom shared a video a while back that got me inspired to try it out! The possibilities of what you could make are endless and are for kids and adults alike. My favourite rubber molds were the phone case, rubber mallet, custom cozy, and the bouncy balls. This would also make a perfect quarantine project for kids!

Looks fun, Mason would get a kick out of making his own toys!
Sup Coach!
I've seen dozens of these videos, but yours was the first one that actually sparked the creative part of my somewhat addled brain. Thanks for being my plastic-making muse!
Thanks for this. Love it
This is really neat! I’m going to make soap molds!
Question... Can I make somewhat of a rubber clay with this? Like, when this dries, I saw "Warning: Super Bouncy" is it rubbery and stretchy? Could I perhaps use less cornstarch and go for a smoother consistency than play-doh if I want something more rubbery and stretchy and bendable? Like, if I want something that is more like one of those rubber toys that are incredibly squishy and stretchy? Something like a stretch toy. The silicon and corn starch made balls gave me hope for that due to them being bouncy.
How do we control the hardness and softness of the end product of the dry silicone? Like for example I need my phone case to be more softer and more like hard rubber casing?
look how much fun you're having,.. haha awesome as always.
I spent a week playing around with this and went through a ridiculous amount of calking lol
The mallot?! Omg so clever
Very cool, is it possible to manipulate the material in such a way that it doesn't leave those obvious playdoe like connection points? I wonder if it would help with something like a phone case if you depressed it's sides with something flat? At any rate, I can work with it over the price of molding silicone, it would give a cool grungy look to robot models I think.
Great! You've earned some play time :)
it was a fun project
Love this! I wonder will it stick to already cured silicon? For example can it be used to decorate a silicon phone case?
Lubber ❤ it
Thank you for sharing this! I just have one question, can you draw or paint on it?
Thamks! I didn't know you coud make plastico . Great show.
isn't it so cool! I didn't know you could make plastic so easily either...had to share!
your a genious
If you wrap it up in plastic will that keep it from hardening a bit longer?
Is it possible to paint it afterward (acrylic paint) please?
Is there something that can influence its stretch/rigidity?
How do you think this would hold up in water? Thinking of making micro fish for a ocean bottle.
Brilliant 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🙏🙏
Hello. Before I mess this up, is it ok if I use oomoo 30 to make the moldable rubber 🤔?
NICE. WHAT CAN I DO THEN WITH?
What if we make fishing lure from it ?
Will it melt under warm water?
If use silicon 2, what will happen?
Is the stuff made water-proof?
If you're looking for a more in-depth video TKOR has a video on this as well
My favourite is the dinosaurs 🦖🦕
Try putting some bendy wire in the snake 😁
Akril silikon is not good?
Is the end product food-grade, suitable for chewing on?
Hi how long it take to cure ? Thanks
Watch the entire video!
Do you think this would be good to make safe baby teething toys ? 🤔
Curious about the same thing
Hell no! Silicone is a construction adhesive are you nuts?
They make food grade specific silicone
I see that you are using 100% silicone, but the bottle is for tub and tile. Wouldn’t you need food grade silicone if you are giving it to babies to play with ? I’m just concerned if a baby is trying to chew on it
It is 100 percent food grade it's packed as tub and tile for ease of application same chemicals
Does it become it a hard piece when it dries?
it's like rubber. it's got some flexibility, but it keeps its shape.
@@TimberTea is it possible to make it hard ?
Are these toys ( made with corn starch and silicon 1 ) harmful if kids put it in their mouth?
Yes dude silicone is a construction adhesive don't let a kid chew on that lol
Very interesting....you deserve more "likes."
This just looks like the stuff the king of random made
Does it hold forever? And does it feel like silicone toys? Asking if it would be suitable as teethers
!!’
!!!
No. Don't use silicone for kids toys. They have specific silicone that is food grade. But I don't know I wouldn't even use that
Hmmmmm 🤔
Haha my man
Jokes aside you shouldn't make kids toys out of silicone. It's a literal construction adhesive, also used to lubricate things like car parts comments used to make caulking. Almost every form of silicone it would be a terrible thing to let a child play with. They do make specific food great silicone though.
