    When you added the uncooked rice with seasonings and covered it with water to cook, it reminded me of the paella rice dish. I'm chinese but I like to explore the flavours of how other guyanese cook fried rice.

      You can definitely probably turn this into a Paella by changing up the seasonings and adding fresh seafood at the end

    Another wonderful recipe Matthew of your version of fried rice. Creative cooking is what you do and which I love. And of course use the vegetables you have available. Love this recipe . Will definitely make it. Keep cooking.

    Does the Chinese in guyana really add that much seasoning for their fried rice and also as a "one pot" cooking (instead of stir fry white rice) ?
    (Asking bc im learning! And want to try to make it just like guyana chinese F.R)

      Ok. Another question. Most of the time I cook the rice with one and a half cup or sometimes 2 cups of water per cup of rice but sometimes taste like it's not boiled properly. Why is that?

      You would add those in the same time I added in the Chinese sauce. You can add that in place of the Chinese sauce.

    I also like to use a couple of drops of vinegar, Chinese cooking wine, and a little chili paste. My Chinese cooking is more like what one would find in Kolkata, but this recipe is totally worth a try!

    • @matthewsguyanesecooking4601
      @matthewsguyanesecooking4601  Рік тому

      The West Indian store sells a “Chinese Sauce”. I say it because a lot of Guyanese people use it. It seems like a mix of hoisin, soy sauce and spices. Some brands are sweeter. Sometimes if I don’t have it I will use hoisin, soy sauce, 5 spice and a pinch of sugar or some honey.

    Mr. Matthew where did you get this recipe from?
    I dont know what happened over the past decades, but this is not how Guyanese Fried Rice was made.
    this is not considered Fried Rice, or even Guyanese Fried Rice.
    Whether you are on Mars or Guyana, U.S/ Canada/ China
    1. take preccoked cold or old rice from day from before
    2. Fry vegetable and or meat
    3. put in rice and FRY rice well.
    You have to FRY the rice not boil it.
    What everyone is making is some sort of very seasoned rice.
