  • Chopin started writing waltzes in 1824, when he was fourteen, and continued until the year of his death, 1849 ... He published eight waltzes in his lifetime. A further five were published with posthumous opus numbers in the decade following his death, and since then a further seven have been published, without opus numbers (of these, two are considered doubtful. This brings the total to eighteen canonic waltzes, although often these are not numbered past the first fourteen).
The Waltz in E minor was composed circa 1830 and published in May 1851. It was the first of Chopin's posthumously published waltzes not to be given an opus number. It appears in Brown's catalogue as B. 56, in Kobylańska's catalogue as KK IVa/15, and in Chomiński's as P1/15. It was composed shortly before Chopin left Poland at the age of 20. Although this is the final (fourteenth) waltz in the older editions of Chopin (other waltzes being included in more recent editions), it is believed to have been composed before any of the waltzes published in Chopin's lifetime. “Bach is an astronomer, discovering the most marvellous stars. Beethoven challenges the universe. I only try to express the soul and the heart of man.”

A really very virtuoso interpretation of Chopin's E minor Waltz. It's like being in the middle of the action. The piano playing uniquely touches the soul of the listener. Thank you for that.

This is just...wow! ok. I have some technical questions I’ve been dying to ask you since I first found your channel by the Scribian D minor Etude a few months ago.
#1. I noticed there are some videos where you are sitting with elbows aligned to piano “correctly”, and then others, your elbows drop down (Scriabin D Etude Example), is there a reason for that? I image you are very tall and maybe the chair wasn’t a good fit? Idk, how can you play like that and yet be perfect without any injuries? You have strong hands btw!🥰
#2 how tall are you btw?
#3 what’s your fastest speed? Beats per minute
#4 With the 100s of pieces you’ve recorded I can only imagine the minimum hours of daily practice is 5 hours for you to be that fluid on command and keep the maintenance. No less right?
#5 Do you plan to pass your legacy with master classes like other legends? Do you have students?🙂
    Excuse my ignorance❤️😘🙏🏻

Thank you. No, actually it does not. As far as I know, only Fazioli and Steingräber grand pianos have (not sure about others).
