@@ChillyUltraKill No stress! I'm not a furry myself but from what I understand, it can be a way to disconnect from social norms because there's no face, no need to be a 'person' almost? For many of us, we have to spend our time masking (aka pretending to know what we're doing) so any chance to be truly ourselves which can be strange and 'offputting' can be very very freeing. Most of us find crafts or something or just spend time inside, but for folks who are autistic and outgoing, being a furry can be very freeing! There's definitely the shitty bestiality side, but most are just socially awkward folks who are desperate to socialize. Also, kids often LOVE furries because it's just a fun costume without any judgement and I think that's fun. Personally though? I'm terrified of mascots so fursuits spook me 😂 but I love what they offer our community in terms of expression.
At the end of the day, just as much as sometimes neurotypical folks do things that to them are normal but i look at and go "why?" but then "okay, glad they are having fun even if I don't want join" I think applying that lens from the other side towards things you don't understand, especially if they're common in the autism community is really helpful. I don't think that's phrased right, but it's just the simple level of trying to trust people that when they say they like something or it's important to them, that it is and it's okay to not really understand it as long as at least they or the statistically larger community arent harming anyone 😊 I appreciate you being curious!

They think they're "cool" and "sigma" cause of it, yesterday I saw an edit about a guy using chemical bombs to kill a few furries in a furry meet up. Also saw an edit of a guy breaking a woman's jaw bone and they said "sigma".
