    When getting dressed I usually am looking for a certain color that I feel like wearing depending on my mood. So if I plan my next day's outfit the night before I usually don't feel like wearing it the next day. I think this has to do with how different my mood is in the evening verses the morning. I have better luck if I put together clothes on the weekend, and hang the actual clothes in my closet as complete outfits at one end of my closet. If I line up 8 outfits or so for the week, I can grab the one that looks best to me at the time. I usually put jewelry with each option so I'm not hunting around in the morning. I always make sure to have colorful choices as well as more neutral ones and more than five days worth so at the end of the week, I still have a choice.

      I do this too! As a busy mom I find it serves me to prep a whole week of outfits with the accessories (scarves, jewelry) in a variety so that I can grab what I need depending on my mood or what activities I am doing that day.

    I recently started a new approach to creating outfits that's working so far: all freshly cleaned or worn-but-still-clean items go into the wardrobe on the left, and I start my outfits from items on the right. There's no organisation except when-last-worn. My aim is to steadily move through my items; one way or another they will all soon be worn. It's encouraging me to use the trickier (ie more striking) pieces rather than bypassing them each time.

    I do wear at least 60% of my capsule wardrobe, but find that I shy away from getting what I called "dressed up" (that is real pants and and top rather than jeans and a sweater) if I'm only going to the grocery store and back! I'm retired so not a lot of dinners out or theater outings since covid, and it seems that everywhere we go people are really dressed down. I have finally got all the pieces I felt I needed to be ready for any occasion (except a wedding), but now find I don't as much need as I thought. It's actually quite frustrating.

    My short from video:
    1. Laundry
    2. Are you wearing the same pieces over and over again?
    3. The same colors and cuts over and over again?
    4. Max two the same pcs in two different colors.
    5. Prepare different outfits from current wardrobe in weekends - different view different combinations e.g. Open wardrobe
    From my experience
    1. Reorganize shelves etc in wardrobe and it is useful to have pants, jeans etc on hangs exception are sweaters - it was for me game changer where all clothes are in order and easy accessible
    2. To do the professional color analysis
    3. Appreciate the power of accessories - belts, watches, bags, jewellery
    Thank you for very useful video like always 💚💛💙

    I own the same item in 4 colours, black, white, dusky pink and burgundy. So four silky tanks, 4 shirts, 4 muscle tanks, and 4 blouses. This creates a uniform and I am in love with my uniform because it is so easy and settled! I don't have to even bother thinking of what to wear 😂 I always look put together! I would say I wear 60% of my wardrobe. 30% would be off season items and 10% would be special occasion items!

    Since I started working in a kitchen, I have to wear a uniform 5 days a week. I swear that when my free day comes around I can't wait to wear my clothes! I challenge myself to put up a different outfit every week and it's not difficult for me even if my wardrobe is still limited, I only own 30ish pieces for the fall and winter, a little less for summer.

    I outfit repeat a lot. I also do a color palette for my wardrobe. I feel if you love what you have and it flatters you you’ll enjoy wearing it no matter how often. As far as people noticing-they don’t and I don’t mind even if they do.

    Another amazing video! 💚💚💚 I have a lot of clothes but I never feel bored. However, I probably wear only about 60 percent of it. I know that I need to reduce my inventory. I am just awful at doing that and almost always regret getting rid of pieces. Your video about the personal uniform helped a lot. Now to my closet to get it better organized! Thanks for what you do!

    • @vazq_Fernanda
      @vazq_Fernanda  2 роки тому

      Regretting getting rid of something is the worse! That can happen when we feel pressure to declutter but we are not sure what to let go of. I am curious though, how come you don't wear the additional 40%? Do you know?

    Happy Thanksgiving! A lot of my summer things are hanging up or otherwise on display. If I can see it, I’m less likely to fantasy shop another one (as in buying the same items on repeat). And yes, I do need to spend some quality time putting together different outfits, maybe with a glass of something in hand! ♥️

    I have recently realised that i like 3 pieces. The base pieces need to be high contrast eg black top , light bottoms ot vice versa. Then i like a print, bright or textured third piece ,like a coat , long cardigan or in summmer a wrap or open shirt. I like to wear three different things in different colours that connect or i connect with an accesory..
    When i dress like this i feel good.
    I now try lots of combos...and i am getting better at it..i get compliments..
    I take a photo now each day.
    Thanks.

    Excellent video as always! I do admit I wear 20% of my wardrobe approximately 80% of the time, I guess its time to push myself to wear the other pieces I normally feel less comfortable in (bought them thinking I would wear them but some just ended up at the back of my wardrobe for eternity).

    I do change out most of my wardrobe for each of the four seasons, except for my all-season items. That way I get a “new wardrobe” every three months. I do try to rotate things that I haven’t worn, and try them on, sometimes I discover that they are too big or not comfortable, then I declutter them immediately. I’m lucky to have some extra hanging space, so I don’t have to re-iron or steam things, I store everything on hangers, except for my sweaters. I never put anything back into my closets that isn’t freshly washed and ironed/(steamed for knits), though, I have a separate area for wear-agains before washing. I haven’t got my winter things out yet, it’s still about 70F daily high here in California.

    • @vazq_Fernanda
      @vazq_Fernanda  2 роки тому

      Your system sounds pretty similar to mine! I don't have that much space though - I kind of HAVE to rotate my seasonal items in and out.

    If you got a lilysilk pants, lilysilk skirt and lilysilk jacket you could make a lilysilk capsule wardrobe video.

    I would say that I wear about 75% of my wardrobe, but that's if I just count what is in season now. If I count everything that I own, I'm wearing a lower percentage over this winter- maybe 30%. My summer clothes are the ones that could use some curating.
