When I first saw Jonny Builds do this on his channel with a metal door almost a year ago, I was impressed. To see it done and implemented in everyday life is even more impressive.
The best bit was the piece at the end which joined both doors together, which I was totally confused about (surely this will lock them) then he uses that as a handle to open both sides at once. Nice.
I love how organized your tool storage area is. And I never wanted a giant square until I just saw you use that one and now i need one. Love your channel.
dude unless that sqaure is bigger than 17 inch getting a laser cutter and using it for marking makes more sense plus those tiny circle plywood piece wouldve been prefect to cut from ply wood
It holds itself in open, and don't waste space in that position. You need really expensive BLUM lifts to achieve the same result. It can be practical in work shop where you don't have third arm to hold doors in open.
@@pathemep or swing open on the horizontal plane. Lots of ways to achieve that much simpler. This is beautifully engineered but so is a Lamborghini. Neither would really be considered practical. I still absolutely love it though.
Wait...just learning as a hobby picked up in 2019. I could take a hundred classes and build a thousand pieces and never come up with such a cool piece executed beautifully. Subscribing and binging now.
Woooooow that's Really an Amaizing Cabinet door🖒I really Appreciate that there were no annoying background music, just the beautiful sounds of the power tools doing their job's😁❤
An Australian guy name Warwick Turvey made a door like this in 2018 and it was recreated by Jonny Builds last year. This guy could have created this design on his own, but it is very likely that he just copy and modify that design.
it's nice, but too much wood for my taste. I easily imagine the same with a powder coated metal frame, frosted glass panel, magnet latches and hinges on bearings with, perhaps, friction dampeners for the downward movement, nobody would like their hands getting caught inside this mechanism if they miss the latch, even with the wooden model. Plus, a metal construction and hardware, if correctly selected, would be more durable, no hinge breaking before a long time of use :)
You don't build this for low maintenance, the more moving parts, more risk of failure. This has a lot of moving parts. If your metal hinges are breaking often then the hinges are probably not rated for that weight of door. A good specced hinge should last longer than the cupboard. That said, good artistic concept, not sure it's worth it if you're not a proficient carpenter with time on their hands.
I could watch you do projects all day. Excellent craftsmanship and creativity,… and your video was the perfect length… thank you for sharing your art and keep them coming!!!
"Where's dad? Does he know it's time for dinner?"
"He's probably in the garage just opening and closing that cabinet door again. I'll get him."
ahhhahahahahahhahahhaha me !!!!!!
Funniest thing I’ve read all week 👍
Probably me when i build something like this haha
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
LOL

That circular saw jig deserves its own video.

Yeah I got bamboozled for a sec right there. Really nice job he did
Boss, the equipment is modern and complete, he deserves to be called the King of wood art. It's really cool
I love the transformation of the doors while pivoting: genius! Mysterious until the very end. As always, really enjoyed this video!
Absolutely 😀
Do you?
"And there was much pinching of fingers since that day"
Looks great though, really nifty.
Very impressive! I like the best that you don`t need to buy expensive furniture mechanisms. Just plywood. This is awesome!
This is absolutely fantastic. Could you maybe use a small magnet to hold the door in tight when it's 'down'?
I was thinking the same thing. A couple neodymium magnets in the center...
i just repeat to see the video again for the same reason 👍👍👍
you read my mind
good insight!
He would but the problem is he couldn’t find a magnet made from wood.
This amazing one of the best wooden door ever seen on UA-cam till date.
The idea of your saw guide just blew my mind , that was cool !
Home-made perfection-- very cool!

I like this guy’s work, and I like his sense of humour.
Ctrl C/Ctrl V 😂
yes!
What a cool concept! I like that. It keeps the doors out of your face which is nice!
This is the most impractical thing I have ever seen. And I love it.
It holds itself in open, and don't waste space in that position. You need really expensive BLUM lifts to achieve the same result. It can be practical in work shop where you don't have third arm to hold doors in open.

U are brainy and your workmanship is slick and N ORGANSIED!i AM HIGHLY IMPRESSED
The thing I am most impressed with is not the finished product, but the handmade, straight edge, saw jig.
I was hoping he had a video explaining how to make it lol
This is marvelous and excellent,A huuuuuuuuge respect to your skills,, from India 🇮🇳
Genius, I love this. Would be really useful in small spaces like campers
You the carpenter of the YEAR,.!!!!
Mine works too. I used the Woodglut plans and performed it without any problems.
А где ты взял идеи и чертежи
Скиньте мне тоже
That is top level wood work. Very good sir. Very good.
Wow I’m glad I watched until the end, that is beautifully designed and executed.

@@CaptainKaramelo Actually this idea is copied from other guy on yt that created a door using this design.
Well, the first guy was clever. I didn't see it coming though.
just copy

man!!! this is the most IKEA/LEGO thing i came across since decade ago, Weldon dude 👍👍
I liked and subscribed from the 20th second. You can see the work quality from the tools and organization of the work place
Wow, just wow. Nicely done.
How about countersinking a couple of magnets in the cracks so there's no visible cracks anymore?
Very very ingenious
Respect from Algeria 👍
I wish the measurements were included for everything in this....this would be a fun build and fantastic addition to the shop!
Looks like something out of Dead Space, but from wood.
Very nice!
Just need to put a magnet to hold the door closed tighter. Cool design.
I personally find it is very clever and the doors close fine.
@@RRED2 It is a cool door and done for large warehouses too. It does need a magnet, or friction latch, to close it all the way and keep it shut.
@1976ClassicCelica I am always amaze to see such genius people around me. Cool suggestion👍
Thanks for your videos, they are so satisfying to watch.

Very nice. Way more than my standard cabinet doors. Looks like fun. I'll try it at home, then dazzle a client/coustemer with one. Love it!
Omg.... that was sooooooo.... well done and so simple.... thank you so very much
Мужик, ты реально крут, очень интересные вещи! 👍
Again pretty slick ideas brother.
One of those videos where I go "that's insane" repeatedly through the entire duration of it.
