The Yellow River Stone Forest is located in Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province. It has been approved by the National Tourism Administration as a national AAAA tourist attraction. It is 70 kilometers away from Baiyin City, 160 kilometers away from Lanzhou City, and 120 kilometers away from Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport. The total area is about 50 square kilometers. It is formed in The Lower Pleistocene Wuquanshan Formation conglomerate dating back 2.1 million years ago is a geological and landform landscape mainly controlled by neotectonic movements and formed by the combined action of rainwater erosion, gravity collapse and wind erosion. Its formation and evolution process clearly records the changes in the paleogeographic environment of this area since the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is a gravel forest geological landscape with international typical significance and significant scientific research value; it is a collection of geomorphology, geology, geological structure, and natural landscape. A comprehensive geological relic integrating humanities and history, it is a geological relic nature reserve and a national geological park in Gansu Province.
The Stone Forest Park includes three main scenic spots: Yinmagou (including Laolong Valley and Baozi Valley), Panlong Cave-Guanyin Cliff, and Diwan. It is a comprehensive geopark integrating geomorphology, geological structure, natural landscape and human history. It cleverly combines ancient stone forests, the Yellow River, deserts, oasis, Gobi and farms, perfectly presenting a paradise. landscape. The core landscape of the scenic spot - the ancient stone forest group was formed in the sandy gravel layer 2.1 million years ago. Due to neotectonic movement, rainwater erosion and gravity collapse, many peak forests and peak clusters composed of cliffs and rock pillars with a height of 80-200 meters were formed. The ten-mile-long gorge is like a gallery. There are strange peaks and cliffs, cliffs, ravines and fissures, all in various shapes and forms, which are endlessly magical. Some are graceful and graceful; some are rough and simple, spectacular and magnificent. The scenic spot focuses on pure natural, large-scale and multi-layered geological structures, and is permeated with the majestic, strange, dangerous, ancient, wild and secluded primitive charm. It fully embodies the rugged, powerful, simple and heavy western characteristics. Amazing and lingering.
