I've seen videos of teachers with students, but this one is incredibly rich in demonstrating the results of a respectful student under the instruction of a master teacher!
What a great video. Cameron seems excellent at communicating with his students and putting them at ease. The mark of a great teacher. Tristan you seems like a sweet dude. Keep grinding you’ll knock off those two strokes in no time!
I am blown away by this improvement. Uncomfortable ''emphasizing'' movements are exactly what I need to do while I am on the range. Love the content and love the channel!!
I watched this video and found that my swing errors were very similar to the student's and would rewatch particular sections like the lag drill, then paused the video and did the drills and then struck balls in my living room net setup. So rather than trying to recall what I was learning and then taking that to the range, I was able to get immediate results in both my swing arc and ball striking. So I can definitely say this video highly resonated with me more than almost any other instructional video out there! I would love it if you guys could get Cameron to do another similar video but with the driver so that we can see how these same principles can be applied to the driver swing.
Excellent teacher but also an excellent student. Great video and content. Very helpful to proceed as also being patient in the process. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Germany 🤗⛳
Gosh I’m 43 I’ve only been playing golf 5 months and I’ve gone from a 30ish handicap to now 6.9 with 3 rounds logged into usga GHIN. I could really benefit from lessons like this. I believe I can get to scratch if I can just get a couple bogeys out of my scorecard that really kill me.
there needs to be movie on Cameron's life and journey to where he is today. so impressive and he thinks so fast, impressive. No wonder Speith retains him as his coach.
Fantastic to see this interaction with a top level coach and a good player. I am a similar handicap but my interactions with coaches (only two or three times) were not like this. Seems the instructors I have experienced didn't ask as many questions as Cameron (assuming to understand and access the issues) and didn't explain the game plan to meet the objective. Wish I could work with Cameron. Hook'em \m/
Fantastic lesson from Cameron. The toughest thing is to find a very good coach. Once you do, and it’s extremely different to find, you then listen well, learn and practice a lot. Cheers.
This has many gold nuggets for me. As a right hander who plays golf left handed, I see some common flaws in our swings. I tend to pull hook or pull and also sometimes hit pushes. Fat shots are my worst contact with an occasional thin shot. My right arm tends to lose extension at top of back swing. Thanks for posting this!
Oh wow. I need lessons! When my iron swing has width and natural lag I have shot under par. When I swing longer and faster (it feels faster and more free) I can shoot 15 over! Ironically these shorter Sergio like irons come in the Winter when I have multiple layers on so.I can't over bend the rear arm! Problem solved. Wear more clothes while golfing and risk heat stroke?
I think all golf instructors should be addressed as Sir or Ma’am , gives a sense of respect and gravitas to the lesson. Can’t wait to show the due deference to my tutor... he will think I’m taking the piss 😁. Seriously good content , I like the relationship between lag angle and divot position. I guess you have to be pretty loose to get that shaft angle increasing after transition. I also liked he didn’t tinker with the students grip or stance.
It’s amazing really, I play left handed and my miss with driver is draw to snap hook. However I have great lag with my irons and at 1 stage would barely touch the ground but had fantastic contact. My swing path is way in to out. Is this my problem does anyone know
I feel like late round pushes could also be caused by lack of snacks haha. If you've been out there 3.5-4 hours without taking in any nutrition, your body and mind could be fatigued.
Either you have that lag or you don't. I believe some people have exceptional wrist flexibility, tried everything and when I try to create lag I usually shank it but I've learned a lot from these videos.
Do it in super slow motion! Then slow motion. Then a bit faster. Next use something bigger than a golf ball. I use lacrosse balls with an old 8 iron but make sure you are strong enough to handle this because its not easy! Tennis balls are good to feel like you are really swinging through the ball If you don't you will hit shorter pop ups.
He still was very trail arm collapsed at the top of his backswing, even at the end. He will regress. He needs to hit partial bunty 4 irons 100-150 yds for hours on the range, high/low, fade, draw. Most people fail because they try to hit the ball at > 90% of their max power as beginners. Everything is then a compensation and they ingrain these compensations. Golfers should not be allowed on the course for years until they have perfected partial shots, turned up the length of the swing and nothing changes as they turn more! However, we know this will never happen! Playing golf, 30-40 full shots, takes 5 hours. Spend that time on the range you can get to 1000 balls! Think about that!
Yep. Reps can make you a lot better! Unless you change your swing too many times and try every swing theory for the past 100 years. Makes for some interesting disparities in scoring to say the least.
Cameron McCormick is awesome, pure knowledge with no nonsense or arrogance, I could watch him give lessons all day. Tristan gets some great speed from very minimal body movement, awesome to see and probably a great lesson for all of us.
@@robertcourt8593, yeah, it’s pretty to watch. I think he had more movement towards the end of the lesson, it must have been a byproduct of the things Cameron taught him as there was no focus on body movement.
No attempt to identify the true cause of the mistakes. The fact that the real reason for the swing issues wasn’t addressed is mind blowing. This was great insight into the lack of understanding of the laws of spinal motion is remarkable.
The point is, saying Yes Sir hundreds of time in a youtube video is really annoying for viewers. I think you can be respectful without saying it so often..Overall the content was great
Shame about the student's cold that he had to keep snorting. I couldn't watch the whole video. However he listened and acted upon good clear instruction. First thing I would have attended to is his grip. Looked very much like the club was in the palm of his bottom hand rather than fingers. Plus he sets up with club quite vertical. Be curious what a little more shaft lean at address might have done for him in terms of feel and understanding the concepts the teacher was discussing.
I have had many lessons where the teacher says I don’t have a hook problem. Then on the back nine, there goes two-three strokes with one swing. Range lessons only go so far. Lazy teacher! The student is acting like he is happy but in reality he is hating himself for not speaking honestly. Get off the range you lazy teacher! I’m serious. You have the money and time. Solve the golf course problem not the range session problem.

Awesome instruction and great to see a lefty getting a lesson on UA-cam, that's a one in a million!
First and only lesson Tristan will need. Yes Sir.
What a great video. Cameron seems excellent at communicating with his students and putting them at ease. The mark of a great teacher. Tristan you seems like a sweet dude. Keep grinding you’ll knock off those two strokes in no time!
This channel needs more exposure
I’ve taken, watched, and given 1000’s of lessons. Many from one of Tiger’s old coaches. I’m quite impressed with how Cameron communicates.

Amazing!! Absolutely Amazing. I finally found out what I’m doing when I hit a great shot and how I made the move.
Ditto! I had it for about 2 months and lost it completely. In the high 60's to mid 70s scoring. Now lucky to break 80.
Never heard so many “yes, sir” before in a golf lesson 😂😂😂
Cam sounds formerly Australian - I reckon he’d hate it!
Absolutely brilliant watch. Nice bloke and Cameron's teaching is soooo good because it's sooo simple. Keep up the great work
A fellow lefty out here. Always nice to see there’s others out there 🤣
So pumped this guy swings just like me and is a lefty, I am going to implement all of these drills tonight

Great instruction, and I like this young man the yes Sirs are refreshing
Wow. Im lefty and having the same issues as him with a pull draw. I cant wait to try these drills.

Great, great content and excellent lesson, Cameron. This is invaluable to my operation just outside of Boston. Thank you.
This was a fantastic episode! I learned so much. I’m looking forward to more practice.
learned a lot from this. i struggle with the same miss and am a 3 handicap. thanks for the lovely content!
“Live fire.” I love that line.
Fantastic content. Excellent approach, diagnostic of Cameron. Same Video on Chipping would be highly appreciated. Thanks!!
Superb instruction! I wish I could get a lesson from you. 👏🏻
A truly great lesson...
spieths pre shot routine makes a lot more sense to me know. great stuff

I just subscribed to this channel based on this video👍🏼
Smart man!
Fantastic video! Great lesson! Thank you
loving these videos
Man wish i could have 1 lesson with him be super awesome

Super content I want to be the next index student and finally make it to scratch!
If you had your pick of coach, who would you go see?
It would have to be either Martin Chuck or Mike Malaska👍

Awesome!
cameron mccormick is the john danaher of golf

Didn't need to, the dude was already a top golfer! 4 vs 2, whatever! Sure he was really "missing" the fairway! 🤣 😂 😆
I can’t tell if Cameron is a genius or that student is a scratch golfer just posing! That’s how good that lesson was!
a 4 vs a scratch isn't a huge diff to begin with
mccormick is a wizard

That's what I thought too.
Good good merch 👀
what shoes is tristan wearing?
Ok, so how do I hire Cameron for a day to sort my shit out? Outstanding instructor!
20K min I'd think! Just takes the duckets!
Great content, dude couldn’t have sniffled anymore if he tried. Awesome content though. 😂
This guy came in for a few tweaks and left with an entire overhaul to work with 😂
Yes Sir! 🫡
Either you have that lag or you don't. I believe some people have exceptional wrist flexibility, tried everything and when I try to create lag I usually shank it but I've learned a lot from these videos.
Yes you can't tighten up the forearm or the shoulder otherwise you can't release the club head and you will get a shank!
So good. I needed this. How do you practice the wide to narrow move from the top?

Still narrow, and flying back elbow which is ok for.very few.

Not much side movement going back but lots of up and forward going through!

Dude got into the Peruvian chit chat powder the night before
Good Good quarter zip 👀
Yes, sir
As a lefty myself. That was exactly what I needed
"Yes sir".....
I’m doing something wrong cause my 4 handicap doesn’t look this bad. I think my issue is putting only. Everything else is PGA material.
Yessir
Why s he calling him Sir? Is Cameron Knighted?
No attempt to identify the true cause of the mistakes. The fact that the real reason for the swing issues wasn’t addressed is mind blowing. This was great insight into the lack of understanding of the laws of spinal motion is remarkable.
would love to hear what you think the true cause is? can you elaborate?
whats up with the Yes sir every 5 seconds? jesus its not the marines bootcamp lol
Respect, evidently you've none of it!
@@CoryLancasterYT useless reply buddy! respect is NOT about calling somebody sir every 4 fucking seconds, tell me about it.
He’s got that Bobby Brown jaw 😂😂
Yes sir Yes sir Yes sir Yes sir😂😂
Memorial practice range is rubber mats, I believe the mats are toxic, create bad habits.
Sorry, stop saying yes sir 😂😂😂😂
Thought he was really respectful and attentive, good dude I reckon. You seem negative, try change that pattern.

Is it me, or is his right arm hyper extended ?
My god plz fix that left hand grip. That’s why he can’t fade it.
There is no way in the world this guy is a 4 with that arm structure. JS

Never seen any pro golfer start the swing with their lead arm (his right) bent. Just saying.......
There are a few. Not too many in this era.
Can he stop calling him Sir
Minor Chicken wing, he’s getting stuck
Needs to sniff more.
No wonder why Jordan Speith has won 5 Majors
3 majors still great!
Good lesson but man, please ease up with the “yes sir” every minute. Cringey
Get a grip, sir! So sad we have jackwagons entering the golfing world with no class! We don't need to grow the game anymore evidently!
His head is to bent over, needs to stand a little taller
Yes sir
