Followed Cantlay at the So Cal Am Championships the final day at San Gabriel CC. He started his round birdie, eagle, birdie, eagle.........He won that day. Never forget that day because earlier that day I had to put down my Jack Rusell Terriier at 16 years old......watching the golf was a great distraction until I came home to my now empty house.
Great watch guys! Have always been interested in Patrick’s mental approach, especially his balanced mental discipline. This is a great insight. Thanks from Ireland 🇮🇪
Cantlay is the man, giving us in depth stories from his past and the lessons he learned. None of these wanna be UA-cam influencer golfers come close to the level of knowledge. This is what the algorithms should be promoting, true professionalism and knowledge built up over 30 years worth of experience.
Did you see that father look over to his kid when Patrick said "no phones, no distractions..." when talking about focused practice? Not that everyone does this but a new iPhone weighs around half a pound. Add the case and it gets close to an additional pound in your pocket. Does anyone have pressure plate data with and without a phone in your pocket? Be curious to see.
I'm a bit older (56) but the cell phone as a distraction still comes into play. I use mine both on the range and the course to collect launch monitor data and view course data. When at the range I practice with my wallet in my left back pocket when using the launch monitor. All the other times I have my phone in that pocket. For me, it's more of a consistent feel thing rather than weight. The app I use on course is GPS based and helps me to know exactly where I want to try to hit my shots and where to avoid going. It's all a part of trying to maximize every part of my game when I'm out there. I just turn down the volume so I'm not distracted by calls or texts.
7:48 here lies the problem. Equipment has seriously diminished shot shaping. It’s all distance and short game now. Pandora’s box is open and equipment companies make so much money they rule the golf world.
Cantlay's interview on NLU was one of the most disrespectful things I've seen from a pro golfer. Completely disengaged and felt like a chore to be there.
I hope somebody mentioned the importance of pace of play and not holding up the entire tournament because you’re completely indecisive and terminally slow.
Yeah, sure he is. The fake news lunatics spreading false information so they think they are important and get people interested in their fake articles. Go watch others, Tom Kim, Brian Harmon to name a couple.
should tell them about all the drugs the pros have to take to allow them to train at the gym like monsters every morning and still be able to play golf in the afternoon.
@@CarrterGolf1 there's a thing called recuperation and rest. these guys play tournament after tournament all year long, the amount of 'work' and 'repetition' they do to get as strong and explosive as they are requires rest to perform. you know what helps you do that? illegal drugs.
It’s always so good to get inside the mind of a top tour player. Even better when they are talking to serious golfers too like top amateur golfers.

now this is what I’m talking about, this is what I’ll watch man.
Great video. It's so cool listening to how these guys think their way through their craft. LPGA players also.

I worked with Jamie @ Coyote Hills, he’s a great guy and I am so happy to watch him show his respect and love for the game. Having fun is crucial!

Cool demo of the grip pressure, heard the hogan example before but seeing the pulling out of the hands is new.
Awesome content! Thank you.
Dude is so matter of fact. Gta love it
It took me longer than I’d like to admit to realize that the globe light wasn’t the moon. 😂
thought i was the only one hahahah
Never been a huge fan but is that swing beautiful? I just wish he would smile a little more on the course but hey he's there to win tournaments.
Excellent- need more pros going back to juniors and being transparent about how the road ahead can look for aspiring pros . Good work 👍😊🏌🏿♂️

How long ago was this? He isn't sponsored by Goldman anymore
I didn’t know he grew up at VCC. I thought it was a basic country club lol
Bro needs a bigger size sweater
It's must be nice to be raised in a country club family.

Patrick is a lot of fun and we laugh a lot. 😂😂. Turned off after 3 mins. Bored stiff

Ok Karen

Lesson 1: Ensure your cap fits your head eh CANT$?

What drugs are those? I never heard about this in the pro golf world.
Protein, fruit, vegetables, vitamins and supplements….along with hard work and determination.
This is golf..calm down
Theres a thing called working a lot and doing high reps. Do you exercise at all?
