Oliver Chesler, Christopher Hardwick, Jay Serken, Mia Decaro and the rest of the gang made Depeche Mode 101 super awesome they were such a cool bunch of people.
For me, its the most candid footage of teenagers in the 80s. Other than this, we only really have scripted John Hughes films with archetypal fictional characters. I can't think of anything else before this with better watchable footage of non celebrities just going about their lives
i remember watching it late 90s early 2000s on vhs, received vhs as a gift from back then bf. I am still watching this docu at least ones a year. was wondering about them. Also now living in LA, and every time i see the rose bowl sign i am thinking of that concert.
i remember third guy from right to left, dropping the beer un the store, and telling the guy with guns and roses shirt "guns and poses"yo!! that was funny man !!
the eye in the sky The guy in the middle is actually the one with the Mohawk called Oliver. Remember he had the pretty girlfriend with him. I think they were the only couple out of those kids.
Well, Pennebaker is exaggerating. There were tapes running for drums, most of basslines and some "unplayable" sounds. Alan and Martin did play live their music parts. Vocals were also live.
zoltán kovács Chris Hegedus a nő, aki Pennebaker mellett ül, és a társa (szakmai és magánéletben) hosszú évtizedek óta.. :) és igen, valószínűleg magyar származású, és igen, mindenféleképpen köszönjük neki és a férjének is természetesen! :)

It was milk, not beer. 😁
D.A. PENNABAKER- ALL TIME GENIUS.
Pennebaker is hilarious!
"4 guys and a Tape Recorder on stage..." hilarious!!!
Thats what he wrote in the 101 CD
the Wave is a culture now.is part of DM fans and part of my life.because i've been there un a few concerts when we've done it.
What was the song that he quoted? I didn't get it

5:04 Only Alan is the musician.
oh yeah really. Martin is an amazing musician but you're obviously locked up in one of all mental hospitals for people with Alan Wilder obsession
R.I.P
DA Pennebaker
Only some of the bass lines were on tape..😆😆 D.M we’re live as ya like. Still are!!
Pennebaker said "there were 4 guys out there only one of them really was a musician, was Alan..."
Fanboy alert.
any DP fan knows that, but Depeche Mode is the other 3 guys
@@miqueasvalentinhernandez3998just stating the truth 😅
Jay Serken (non-mohawk) looks like Sid the Sloth from Ice Age. And Pennebaker saying "4 guys and a tape rcorder" it's priceless.
Christopher’s laugh still Tripp’s me out
It was all a tape? I don’t understand that. Dave doesn’t just sing, he talks and shouts, and doesn’t sing sometimes. Can someone enlighten me on that?

@@scaphandres I notice no mention of Fletch playing. Love it. 🙂
