      don't know if you did already, but a good big ol Marshall would be a dream combination... alternatively, plug it into a big Orange amp, either one will probably sound huge; I'd love to hear a Mastodon-kinda tone

    Your LP Custom sounds *so* killer through your Super Kraken! Can I suggest that in addition to what you have planned, that you take one riff, record the DI of it, and then reamp it through each of your amps (eventually, as you go through each one), so that when you're all done, we can hear the same exact riff played back-to-back-to-back-to-back through all of your amps in quick succession? That'd be rad! Cheers!

      I actually want to do a "one guitar 53 amps" video with this guitar but it's hard to find the time to do such a thing for now. I hope that will happen eventually

    • @icenic_wolf
      @icenic_wolf 2 роки тому +1

      I was thinking that saving a DI and reamping it eventually with each amp you do might be a (relatively) low-effort way for you to do a "one guitar 53 amps", if you just save the reamped output on disk for now, and save all of the production for after you've played through all 53...? Anyway, I can totally understand if it's too much work overall, you put out tons of useful videos and I'm consistently impressed with the content and quality. Keep up the amazing work!

    I always liked the kraken sound, never tried one tho, thick, aggressive and tight. It sounds like the krank krankenatein (my favorite amp) with a British roar.. Now I know that the gibson 498t sounds awesome. Thanks for the amazing video.

    Oof, Jon! Might be one of the thickest tones you've gotten in a long time. I dunno, you're a tone magician all the time, but this has the UMPH. Fireball 25 with the LP I'd be super happy to see. Even if you do the LP with all your lunchbox amps in that watt range for comparison. I love playing my Custom. It's always a chunky joy.

    If you are having issues with extra noise when looping your amp through the Axe FX, a DI box between the Axe FX and the amp's input would maybe help. You most likely don't need a DI box from your load box, as it's most likely already isolating with an output transformer (at least Suhr Reactive Load does that).

    Just got an LP Custom too. Sounds nice however I get some nasty squeals at high gain especially when I stop playing. My other LPs don't do that but I use BK pickups in those which may help keeo things quieter.
    You mentioned that you use a noise gate when you play. Was it squealing realy bad without it?

    Yeah that's a very great and all but that's only if you buy the amplifier speaker to go with it and it's got to be matching. I mean it really doesn't have to be matching but to get that real authentic raw sound. I just looked up an amplifier for that same brand and it was over $2,000. I think it would be worth it if you were a decent musician I'm just talking in general here. And you had the ability and you were marketable and you are valuable as a musician to make good money that would be the only way it would be worth it to me to spend $2,000 on an amplifier like that or more. Does that make sense I think you would agree. Not everybody's at the same level and is just going to go out there and buy one. You have to find the right buyer for it and know that they're going to put good used to it. I would really like to own one of those amplifiers but the problem is I couldn't afford it at the moment.

    Is there a difference to putting the EQ pedal in the loop VS putting it after the line out of a loadbox ? I just bought this amp and I love but, but some brightness would be welcome sometimes, especially depending of the IR I am using. TY for the videos.

    If I could ask a question: I've heard, and found to be true, that humans favor more trebly and louder sounds. Keeping this in mind, when I EQ things, I like to take a sample with EQ and one without, and level them so they sound like they're around the same level (important: not using simple level meter, using perceived loudness.) If the EQ'd sample sounds better after doing that, it stays. I've been consistently surprised at how many times I thought I had something that was better, but in the end it was just more trebly or louder. This has really helped me hone in one what I need to do to get the sounds that I'm after. I think that and cutting vs boosting eq first have been the two most valuable/fruitful lessons for me.
    My question is this: Is this something that you do as well? If not, do you have any tips/tricks you'd like to share regarding EQ?

    • @SonicDriveStudio
      @SonicDriveStudio  2 роки тому +1

      Good question. I don't think about it too much tbh. I try to avoid eq as much as possible but when I do it I try to keep it as simple as possible

    This government really truly f****** sucks. Because of inflation who's going to want to keep themselves motivated and inspire to keep pushing hard to develop themselves as a musician and know there's some kind of financial future for them we all have to have an initiative that motivates us and makes us do what we need to to accomplish goals and if it's rock and roll and we love rock and roll the only hard part about making that dream come true is the financial side of it. A lot of people don't realize it but when they're starting out they don't realize they're going to be breaking out another thousand because it's a huge financial investment in yourself. That's why I believe everyone out there can't become a multimillion-dollar rockstar musicians. Is it possible? That is a good question. I think it's possible if you don't mind spending every dollar that you can possibly put into it and the time in the effort what it takes to hone your craft as a musician. Keep up the good work you got sick wicked ass riffs.
