I remember when I started dating my Japanese boyfriend I was shaving EVERYWHERE, then I noticed he was shaving too. After a few months we started living together and I got a bit lazy, haven't shaved for like a week. One day we were just cuddling and he started touching my legs. I instantly freaked out and was like " oh, sorry, i didn't shave my legs ". He said "Eh, I don't really care if you shave your body or not". When I asked him why he was shaving then, he said he was doing it, cause I was doing it and thought it's a part of my culture lol. Japanese guys never shave at all, but he was doing it just for me :3
That’s when you wear long pants for the first little bit so you can get comfortable and slowly wear less and less as you feel as needed. Keep in mind you can do whatever you want, just don’t let fear of society make the choice for you!
I just apologized about my hairy legs today. And I have a serious back problem with extreme nerve pain. I can’t shave my legs. I have a good excuse. But why the heck do I even need an excuse? Urgh $10,000 in a lifetime spent on hair removal? Ya.... minimalism means I’ll be cutting this out of my life. I am not even a hairy woman at all. Such a good video! Thanks Lady Like!
I can't either since I have Keratosis Pilaris or Chicken skin which basically gives you bumps on your skin and shaving would be horrible. I can't tell you how embarrassed I was when PE came and we had to wear shorts and my class this year was mixed so we had both genders in the class. I even ran in the back of the crowd so that no one would be able to see my hairy legs.
I find it odd too, women are expected to have long hair on their head, but short hair everywhere else, when it's the opposite for men. I have short hair (like Jen) and long hair everywhere else, doesn't mean I'm not feminine.
True, when i cut my hair short and everyone around me like "oh girl, why do you cut your hair? Did something upsetting you?" I was like "no random person, i just like it, ok!?" Is long hair THAT important???
I only shave when I want. It’s usually about once a week in the summer and not at all in the winter. Basically just whenever I want my legs to feel smooooth but never when I don’t want to
I dont shave, just dont see the point. And I wear shorts without a care 🤷🏻♀️I shave my underarms only because the sweat can get trapped between the hair and cause body odour
Mine are obvious But I have never shaved my legs Some family members tell me I should since I moved to America because Americans associate hairy legs with uncleanliness and people are gonna talk about me But I don't think I should shave just to please America I have considered doing it to please me but ik that once I start I have to continue
Does anyone else get that almost painful feeling when your leg hair gets really long? It’s like when you have your hair in a ponytail for a long time and then take it out and it hurts, if my leg hair gets really long and I’m wearing tight pants or leggings my legs actually start really hurting just cause the hair is being pulled
But... you hardly see her leg hair. It's relatively "easy" for women who are blessed with light, thin body hair to stop shaving. It's a whole different story when you're a hairy "beast" (like I am). (Edit: This isn't a critique of the video or of Chantel at all! I'm just addressing the topic in general. I'm happy she addressed it, too. Yes, I watched until the end).
Chantel I don’t necessarily think that’s all that matters though. Color doesn’t mean it’s visible or painful or more of a nuisance. I myself had verrrrry thick coarse dark black hair all over once I hit puberty and I started shaving then rather than earlier when I was still hairy but it was thin and lighter in color. I’ve been made fun of my whole life for being hairy but the only reason I started doing anything about it is because as it got thicker it got painful in clothing or it would itch constantly. I now have had laser hair removal done to my legs and don’t care at all to shave. The hair is still there but it’s essentially invisible and is so thin it doesn’t itch or get pulled in my clothes.
Justice Martinez And both impair daily function. Hair does not. Excessively oily hair causes buildup of dead skin and itchiness. Long nails impair your ability to pick up and touch most objects. Leg hair impairs what exactly?
I don't like shaving my legs and I esspecially hate it when my mom or dad point out when I haven't shaved in a while... like I get my hairy-ness from you dad but I have to shave and you don't have to, so chill it's not gross 😳
yeah, your (and my) own family pointing it out just makes me feel disappointed in them, like you’re going to shame your own child for not shaving, really?
OMG my family members act exactly the same and it's so sad for me like... I'm their daughter/sister so why are they so mean to me? They don't shave either (talking abt mg dad and brothers) so they shouldnt judge others
The amount of dislikes on this video just proves her point - this video was well done with no agenda being thrown around except self-love and acceptance
@@kyero8724 all due respect she wasn't shaming people for shaving she's just saying it should be your choice you shouldn't be shamed into doing something you're not sure if you want to do
My mom makes me shave but I have decided the day I move out, I'm quitting this bs. Having hair doesn't bother me. Why should it bother anyone else. I'll do what I want to make me happy. I shouldn't have to be hairless to feel feminine.
@Megha Shastry I can't shave when I do my hair's become ingrown and infected I have PCOS it's a hormonal problem, it takes me one hour to shave one leg, then the hair would grow back completely back within 2 days.
IKR! I was shaving my legs for the first time and my mom got super mad at me for taking so long. She was like “hurry up, why is it taking you so long?” DOES SHE KNOW HOW HARD IT IS FOR A PERSON WHO HAS NEVER SHAVED BEFORE TO SHAVE THEIR LEGS?!
When I started shaving my legs it took me three hours to do one and half of my legs right then and there I turned to my mom and was like ‘ you can forget me shaving I’m not running the water this long for it to just go down the drain. Also I don’t have to all cos my legs are hairy doesn’t mean they affect anyone’. That was the only time and I am so glad I’m not continuing
My Mom has silky smooth legs, with no hair. I asked her how she does it, and she told me she has never EVER shaved her legs in her life; her hair never matured, lol. UPDATE: I found out that her mom used to wash her legs with rocks 👁👄👁
@@xamsel5832 , I'm telling you my Mom's legs are silky smooth. You've never felt them, so I see why you would think that. It's fine, but I'm just saying my Mom's legs are hairless. I guess my Mom's genes are weird, lol.
I remember a few years back when I was a freshman in highschool, there was this girl, she was a bit strange, but I talked to her sometimes. She was in my PE class and we were going for a run on a hot day, so a lot of kids were wearing tank tops. She was also wearing a tank top, and kept putting her arms above her head to catch her breathe better during the warm ups, in which she would expose her armpit hair. Throughout the rest of the class period a group of guys kept chanting at her “shave those pits”. I’m not sure if she was paying attention to them because of how tired she was, but she kept putting her arms above her head. The funny part is out of those same guys some were also wearing tank tops, or had no shirt on at all exposing their armpit hair. At the time I didn’t defend her, being that she wasn’t really paying attention, and the fact that I didn’t fully understand the expectations that are put on women. Point is everyone should be able to do what makes them happy without getting bullied for it. If your a girl who likes body hair then grow out your hair, if your a guy who like to shave then do it. Personally as a guy with a lot of body hair, I don’t feel comfortable wearing a tank top, because that’s just me. If your a girl with body hair and you want to wear a tank top, go for it!
Ashley Marie I’m not going to force woman to shave or Shame them if they don’t but I do thing body hair is a manly trait and I think women look nice when they shave. Have a nice day
Ian Ramirez I agree it’s natural but is putting make up on natural? I think it’s a appearance choice like I said I don’t care all that much about hairy legs unless they were really hairy but again that’s their choice and I wouldn’t care. I still think though it’s a masculine trait it looks weird to me when I see it. Have a nice day.
When I was younger my friends teased me about the hair on my arms and legs, I remember being really sad about it and to this day constantly wear jeans, even though I shave. I wish there were more people like you. Your kind and you understand.
The only time I shave my legs is when I’m going to be wearing shorts, which is very rare. I haven’t shaved my legs in months, and I’m perfectly okay with it, because no one but me sees my legs. I grow very long light brown hair on my legs and armpits, so you can definitely see them, but I just hate shaving. If I wore shorts more often, or people saw my legs more often, I’d probably shave a lot more, because I do feel embarrassed by my leg/armpit hair, but I’d never shame another person for having long leg/armpit hair, nor would I shame someone for wanting to get rid of that hair. At the end of the day, it’s your body and your hair, and you should do whatever you feel comfortable with.
I am a swimmer, so I spend a lot of my days in nothing but a pair of brief swimmers. I let ALL my body hair grow out because i have learned that my body hair is beautiful. People have been like, "but don't you feel embarrassed around boys... or like people in general?" and I answer is no. I will never be ashamed of body hair ever.
This is impacting, like I’ve seen these video of people, but you being a swimmer literally in a swimsuit half the time letting all of it go out. I have dark hair and very obvious hair but I honestly am so tired and don’t give a crap half the time till I have to go outside, I’m getting to the point of just stopping all together.
I shave my armpits mostly for comfort reasons, for myself. I tend to sweat (a lot), it gets EXTREMELY itchy...etc. however, YOU GO GIRL for not shaving your legs! 🛁
Same! I only shave my legs during the summer, and usually only up to the knees but I gotta shave my armpits bc I'm a sweaty, itchy, hairy mess otherwise.
After it's longer than a quarter inch, it's not itchy or sweaty any more. :) Hair is actually there to help wick sweat away! I haven't needed to use anti-antiperspirant deodorant since I stopped shaving. Only stubble is itchy, but hair is not! :D
Summary of video: "Shave. Don't shave. Your choice. Who cares. It's irksome that every smal thing has to make some grand statement. It doesn't matter. " And I agree.
@@universe93 because society's expectations make it a grand statement right now, and it shouldn't HAVE to be. So it's more about why it shouldn't have to be in the first place
I’m 18 and I’ve only shaved my legs once. I seriously thought I was doing something by not shavingI had to ask myself the hard question: if you were the only person in this earth, would you still shave? The answer was no. I knew I was only shaving for other people’s comfort. Besides my skin gets really dry when I shave
I like this question. I don't care about what others think and still wants to shave and get waxed many times. I thought that maybe deep inside I do care about what others think. But when I saw your question, I answered "yes". I can like it when my legs have no hair and still don't care about what others think
@@anniemannie6 same, id say yes as well. tbh i spend like every weekend just giving myself a long spa, trying literally every cute dress or outfit I have in my closet, and a whole makeover just to take a few pictures in the mirror and watch UA-cam for the rest of the day.
I stopped shaving awhile ago and no longer wear bras except to workout. I feel great, at first I was self conscious but it's just my body and no one has rejected me because of my hairy legs.

The only reason I shave is because I don’t like the feeling of hairy legs, arms, and armpits, etc. Not to mention it looks better since I have dark leg hair (even though I have blonde hair) and makes me feel good about myself. If the only reason I did it was for other people I doubt I would bother.
@@latelaughlove Nobody knows I shave my legs other than my family (and the people in this comment section), so I'd say I'm doing it for myself too. I keep it a secret, because I don't feel like getting made fun of. I also wear jeans in the summer to hide it.
Okay. Let me preface this by saying: I am a very hairy girl (dark, prominent hair) and I suffer from mild hirsutism. I would like to point out two of my own experiences (in somewhat of a rant) and maybe someone here can relate to them: 1. Growing up, I kind of missed the momemt I was supposed to start shaving at. My family wasn't well off and shaving supplies were pretty expensive, also I never felt the need to, seeing how body hair (on myself as well as on others) never bothered me or influenced my perception of anyone's "beauty", do it. I was aware of societal expectations however and usually kept my hairyness to myself by covering up, always wearing long clothes and avoiding exposition of skin until I was alone. At some point (especially humid summer) the whole thing really started annoying me and seeing no point in hiding something I never considered negative, I went to school (high school at the time) and on an evening out with my friends with my Chewbacca legs exposed in shorts. We've all been shamed in some way or another in our lives, but that day was... let's say upsetting. I couldn't count the number of times I was being called 'disgusting, repulsive' or any other insult while in school. Even worse were the stares strangers would give me while passing them by on the street (this one guy, who kept staring at me legs disgustedly while we were in the coffeeshop queue, I will probably never forget). You would imagine college would make a vast improvement or at least a difference. Away from small-mindedness in a supposedly educational, liberal environment, but what did I hear one of my peers say during class in summer as he noticed hair protruding between by sock and long pants: "eww, you're hairy. That's so gross on a woman!" What did that small-scale experiment and similar experiences teach me? To keep my body hair to myself. I still see nothing wrong with anyone's body hair and stand strong on personally not shaving, simply because I don't want to, however I still cover up and, when I know it will be socially required to undress in public, shave. My family is from another country and the stigma there around women's bodies is still very strong. I couldn't imagine them ever accepting my hairy legs or armpits while on vacation by the sea side and, as to avoid any confrontation, I shave like the good, conformist girl I am required to be. 2. I would also like to point out the effect body hair has on sexuality. As you may have noticed, I don't shave and that fact alone complicates dating/ casual physical relationships (something even people who do remove hair find difficult) a lot, as well as it substantially diminishes the options available (aka the dating pool). It's been drilled into my head to equate hairlessness with femininity, as Chantel mentioned in the video. Whether it was Darwin or expanding capitalism and its advertisements I cannot say, but it has made an impact on many of us. Whenever I'm on a date, I always get extremely insecure. Do I tell the person I'm out with about my body hair? One the one hand I shy away from it, the topic being pretty private and rationally not something that should cause someone to stop wanting to see me. Then again, I might be wasting both out times by meeting repeatedly and, after disclosing what's going on, getting rejected, because someone isn't attracted to my body hair and I am unwilling to give up my conviction for anyone. I've talked to many men/ women/ gender queer individuals about it, and of course aesthetic appeal is a pretty subjective, but it appeared to me that a majority of people (Eespecially cis men. Sorry, I'm not trying to offend anyone, but that was my impression) considered hairlessness to more appealing, quite a few even going as far as saying they would not consider a naturally hairy human being a viable partner. Which is totally okay, because everyone has preferences, but also saddening in the respect that something objectively as superficial as body hair has as much of an influence on who we consider a potential partner. In a nutshell, these mostly negative opinions I've heard time and time again, have made a great impact on my attitude towards physical interaction and sexuality. I have become increasingly warded, wary and selective who to confide in. I want to end this by clearing up several misconceptions about body hair, I've been hearing over and over: It's NOT unhygienic. Body hair serves a purpose, especially around the body's opening mounds. It may even be able to keep some potentially harmful entities away. There is very little, almost no reliable research about it trapping body odours and making sweat smell worse. Finally: it's not gross, repulsive, disgusting, unnatural, masculine/feminine or anything else. It's just there. XOXO, hairy girl
I just read this whole thing and yes, preach it sister 👏👏 I am sorry you had all those bad experiences with people, I have met some cis guys who don't care about female body hair, even a few who prefer it (they think it shows she is actually more of a woman because it shows she is not prepubescent and hairless). Maybe one day you will meet more and more people like the ones I have met! I wish you luck~ 💕
Thank you for such a well thought out comment! I agree on many of your viewpoints. I recently stopped shaving my underarms, and I'm so nervous about the summer time - because I *want* to keep the hair, but I'm so afraid of what people will think!
i shave my legs, not because i’m afraid of people seeing my hair, but because i prefer how my legs feel when they’re smooth. ladies do as you wish with your leg hair 🙌🙌
@First Last no one cares about your opinion except you. I pity you for thinking that way, and I pity any female children you may (miraculously) have one day. Hopefully someone else comes along and unravels your brand of brainwashing
I hate the feeling of hair in my armpits, so I shave it. But on my legs I don't care. I actually find it quite entertaining to smooth it down with lotion. I also like the feeling of smooth legs, but I don't like the feeling of it being half grown in again, so I don't shave very often.
I stopped shaving a few years ago. I had come to a realization that 1) shaving only makes me smooth for maaaaybe half of a day (hair grows like a weed), and 2) it was a waste of money and time I could be spending on something I actually want/need. I tend to make decisions based on functionality and convenience, and hair removal was nothing but a pointless aesthetic. So I dropped the razor and haven't looked back. I'm much more comfortable with my body now than I ever was when it was hairless.
Every two months or so, or maybe before vacation ends or something, I will remove all the hair from my legs, my arms, my face and I will do my eyebrows. Then I don’t do it for another month or even longer. I don’t do it for other people. I do it cause I wanna feel like a slippery little seal flopping around on smooth fabric or in the bath tub. It makes me very pleased. 🥳
You can do what you want, just don’t expect guys to find it attractive. Just a fact. You can eat all the junk food you want, it’s your life, but guys won’t find you attractive if you’re 300+ pounds and a type 2 diabetic. Do what you want, but don’t blame men for not liking you.

We have been conditioned to feel that way :) (nothing wrong with doing it, just remember that if the social pressure to do it hadn't been there we wouldn't have started)
I totally understand the message she is conveying. It's your body, you get to decide what you want to do with it, so nobody else should make fun of you for embracing your body for what it is. I used to be bullied in grade 3 because of my body hair and continued until grade 6. It was mostly 3 or 4 guys and even said that I should win an award for having the most hair on my arms. But every other girl had hair on their arms too, it just wasnt noticable. I shaved later on and I did like the smooth feeling but it was so I wasn't bullied by others. Having body hair is not gross, it's just a natural part of life. Guys have hair but so girls, it's normal. For all those comments down below, not every girl will shave their legs for guys, they do it for themselves. Same with makeup, it's fun to do as it's like art.
It's a lie that you do makeup and shave for yourself. If it's just for themselves, then why do women not wear makeup when they are alone inside their house?
Athul Paul Some do. And some don’t because it’s a lot of effort when we can ALSO feel good in our cozy clothes. So shut the fuck up, as if you know anything.
@@Paul-yj4ml well I also shave during winter when literally no one will see.. I do it because I like how it looks and feels. And like I barely wear make up outside. I usually do my make up and walk around the house all day with glam make up and sweatpants like it's not that deep dude.
Ben Lujan that’s an actual hygiene issue that can cause health problems for you and the people around you. Someone choosing to keep hair wherever is not, so your comparison makes no sense.
Gilbert Blythe Fan Never said it was... although considering this a liberal ran channel I feel it’s more like she is trying to convince you that you don’t need to shave and it’s just society that makes you feel like you need to.
Is it just me or is it weird that hair everywhere but the head is “for guys” or considered masculine but it is a stereotype that females have longer hair on their head Anyone else???
Teal 123 it’s just preference get over it. For example, it’s like someone liking ketchup on their fries but not their hotdogs. And having hairy pits and hairy legs is more of a masculine trait than a feminine trait. And males aren’t attracted to women that have masculine traits just like women aren’t attracted to males that wear makeup because it’s feminine not masculine. But again it’s nothing one sided or sexist, it’s just preference and the way things are.
@@gzzzboi7368 it becomes sexist when you are expected to shave because you are a woman and no other reason. Its sexist if you get bullied for not shaving. I hate shaving my legs, especially since my skin breaks out in razor burn literally every time even if I have a good razor, plus I get weird rashes for days after shaving. Would rather show hair than that, soooo
Sometimes I have super bad reactions to shaving and sometimes I don’t. It’s really annoying! If I stick to epilating it’s better but it’s very time consuming to do!
Your hair is so thin, soft and fair. I have father's long, strong, dark and curly hair on the legs. It's darker than my head hair. My mother has just several hairs and they're thin and soft, so she doesn't shave them, she doesn't need it
I get the point, but It seems a little contradicting that Chantel says that women were not concerned with hair removal until Darwin (0:50) yet later says that renaissance and ancient Roman women removed leg hair (1:45). I understand that historians are just theorizing where stigma began, but keep the argument consistent
I. Love. You. Really - thank you for this. This is powerful and as a dark haired chick who struggles with this internal struggle - remove or not remove?? - I needed to see this.
I get that everyone has their opinions and has the absolute right to share but Chantel was just sharing hers. We’ve come so far in the past few years bringing so many topics out of the ring of taboo. Clearly so many people are still uncomfortable with their body hair and therefore the need for the topic to be discussed more. I hate body hair on myself, I've had lazer neck down and I love it. But am also a long term backpacker and encounter many women with body hair, and it's never bothered me. Grow, shave, wax, do what you want.
Honestly, body hair on women is incredibly attractive. I love to see not only the confidence ladies can get because of it but the hair itself too. I wish we wouldn’t all feel so pressured to get rid of it. I want to see it more ☺️
Before I even saw this video today, I took a shower and decided as a 14 year old girl "I'm not shaving my legs anymore." The hair never personally bothered me, I was just told by my dad one day that I needed to shave. I didn't see it, my friends never saw it, but it was pushed onto me. I hated getting cut occasionally or having to ask my dad for new razors. I hated the smoothness of it and I felt like it was better if I just left it.
Good for u! People will accept u as u r and whoever doesn't isn't worth the time! Every guy I ever dated literally didn't care about me not shaving 90% of the year, normal people really don't care too much about it
i’m 14 and i’ve never shaved my legs because i don’t care! it doesn’t sound that good and i don’t want to do it! i’m proud of you for that honestly! that’s so cool!
I've got hairy legs, and i mean you can see the follicles even if i shaved. So when i did shave when i was a teenager there was still always black little dots all over my legs, and since i'm pale they show up really well. Stopped doing it a few years back and i've been much happier. Not to mention if all adults are going 'ewww gross, leg hair!' then that's just going to make children tease each other over body hair.
This is me too. I'm suuuper pale and have red hair so like 30 minutes after I shave, you can see the hair starting to come back in anyways. Plus every time I have I get horrible razor burn since my skin is so sensitive. I highly doubt there's anyone who would think my legs would look better covered in red bumps and scabs than with hair. Sucks that it still makes me super self conscious though :/
I remember when I was 13, I was wearing capris and this tomboy noticed hair on my legs and made fun of me for it. Like it’s one of those memories that really stick in my my mind, because after that, I shaved every week until the summer of junior year of college. I don’t know if it’s because I didn’t have razors or I didn’t feel like it, but it’s been two years and a half, and no one has ever once commented about the hair on my legs, no matter the season. Maybe it’s because I’m not particularly “hairy” and the hair is quite thin, but let me tell you-I almost don’t even notice it anymore. I still do my armpits from time to time, but I don’t stress over hair removal anymore.
I started shaving in the first place because some boy at school made a comment about my hairy legs. A couple months ago I went to a doctors appointment and purposefully didn't shave my legs to challenge myself and it went fine. I've now been at home a lot, and its winter however I'm going away for a spa weekend, and I was about to go shave my legs, but I've realised I don't want to. Really needed to see this video today, I'm going to go to my spa weekend and rock it!!

I have been getting laser hair removal for about 7 months and I'm getting a lot of acne and more think hair growth, wasted lot of money. Thank you Dr Isibor on youtube FOR CURING ME WITH YOUR HERBAL MEDICATION and Body cleanser TOTALLY all hair's gone I'm so happy 😊 I took his treatment for 21 days which was very affordable.
I think that not shaving is more frowned upon here in the US because I've been to other countries were shaving isn't a priority for women and men don't mind. I do agree with Chantal that hair is normal and women shouldn't be ashamed of it and men shouldn't be grossed out by it either...it's natural! However I do habitually remove my hair because I smell better without hair under my arms and lady bits 😂 and feel fresher and smoother, and honestly prefer it. But when I don't, I'm not rushing to remove it and my husband doesn't care.
@@brookeblackmore5582 I feel like the US is slowly but surely moving in the right direction towards "it's normal to look normal"... personally I don't mind doing little things in the name of beauty, what seems crazy to me is how there's the shame of just walking out into the world looking and being 100% natural.
I can't remember the last time I shaved my legs - the hair is so sooooooft now, and I don't pill up my bedsheets from stubble anymore. ^_^ Power through the itching, and it'll be a breeze!
I would absolutely stop shaving if the amount of hair on my legs was not so coarse and dark. And every time I shave, it never feels smooth to me because no matter what I do to remove the hair, my skin is extremely sensitive and immediately starts to become irritated. So my legs end up having red dotted burns everywhere.
That's probably your body trying to tell you something sweetie. But if you're still adamant about getting rid of your body hair, I would recommend sugar waxing. You can make it at home with only 3 ingredients, sugar, lemon juice, and water. And it is a lot less painful than waxing. And 'supposedly' over time the hair grows back thinner
Star Cherry I have tried that too and my legs break out too. The bumps that are created last 2-3 days. And they hurt! I just feel like there’s no way for me to remove the hair unless I get laser or something 😐
Ruba Raad My body hair is super rough and wirey too. When I shave it makes a loud scratchy noise lol. Wire wrapped razors make a HUGE difference. So do razors with heads that can bend in all directions.I used to assume that the wires would keep me from getting a close shave, but they don’t. They just prevent irritation. IMO every razor should be wire wrapped nowadays. I don’t even know why they bother to sell normal razors anymore. I like Schick Quattro for women or one of their “Flex” lines for men. By the way salicylic acid lotions really do help with razor bumps, but you gotta keep at it for a few months and not be impatient.
Mochaccino really?? I am definitely going to use your advice because I try everything! I’ve noticed what sometimes help me is when I exfoliate enough shaving doesn’t become as bad for me but not always does that work. Thank you so much for this!
Same! I wear pants or capris so I don’t bother shaving my legs. I do shave my armpits only because I can’t get past the itchy part of them growing out so I’m dealing with shaving them haha
I have a chronic condition that weakens my immune system and I was advised against shaving because of risk of infection from cuts. It was such a challenge to stop, but it’s been over a decade. I rarely even think about it, but it blew my mother-in-law’s mind when I told her I couldn’t use the razors in my Christmas stocking. 😂
If you are a Mediterranean girl who has those thick black hair and has no confidence to stop shaving because in our occasion body hair look even worse... I feel you😢
you know when you haven’t shaved in a long time , and then you shave and then decide to go all fancy and apply some body lotion that turns out to have alcohol in it and you end up burning your skin cause it got on your open wounds and shave injuries? yeah
The only person that has ever told me to shave my armpits.. Was my brother. He was 16. I was 12. He said that girls aren’t supposed to have body hair. It apparently bothered him.
Once my classmate commented on my legs (I wore 3/4 black leggings): Did she fogot to shave? He told that to boys from our class and my good friend told me about it because he felt like I would like to hear it. I was so shocked! It's my choice to shave or not! (Btw. It was in 6. Grade!!) That is your choice girl/boy to shave and only you can decide what will you do. Don't let others tell you what you should do!
I stoped shaving my legs and armpits over 2 years ago. My legs are super hairy and no I wasn’t a super confident person before I did this. I just don’t see a need to do it and I just don’t think about it. It saves so much time and water and I love it honestly. It feels empowering to know I’m doing something out of the norm and having people see that and think “wow she really doesn’t care” is so cool. Just hair everyone grows it. Once you start growing it it becomes so normal.

YES! I like how unlike most comments you say that people should do what they like! I personally like shaving (for myself and maybe once or twice a month) but if someone else doesn’t shave I don’t care. You choose what to do with your body as long as it doesn’t harm you or others.
Honestly when I clicked on the video I was confused because I couldn't really see any signs of hair on her legs... I'm super happy you feel confident tho Chantel, what a queen
I don’t shave my legs unless they’re exposed to the public. Hair on legs is normal and just be normalized. Especially during the winter, it’s to keep our legs warm. I think it’s hilarious that some men think it’s gross the females have body hair when they have it as well. They wouldn’t blink an eye if a man had body hair, but once a female has it they are disgusted. Double standards much.

I even ran in the back of the crowd so that no one would be able to see my hairy legs.
Men spent more on shaving facials tho, they grow quite a lot in a day.
it’s ironic that women are expected to have long hair on their head, and no hair anywhere else

That’s the only reason I would shave my lower legs. It like hurts in a weird way because of the tightness from the leggings.

My nickname is Bigfoot because my leg hair could put him to shame.

Tutter Butter I’m glad there’s guys out there like you still. 😊

I would like to point out two of my own experiences (in somewhat of a rant) and maybe someone here can relate to them:
1.
That's so gross on a woman!"
What did that small-scale experiment and similar experiences teach me?
I want to end this by clearing up several misconceptions about body hair, I've been hearing over and over:
It's NOT unhygienic.

But why do we feel more confident shaved?
@@notevenme0507 because of "social pressure" as this lady stated. But I don't care what any woman says about shaving the only reason we ever picked up a razor 1) wanted to know what it felt like to have a shaved leg/pit 2) because other girls was doing it and it seemed cool, hey why not 3) grew up in a society that if you have hair on your legs you were body shamed (that you were not feminine enough) you may wasn't body shamed direct but maybe girls around you were picked on or hey your own mother probably said something like "women arent supposed to have hair". Or you seen commercials about women shaving. I just shave because I like how smooth they are but my leg hairs grow back pretty quickly

Same people be like "oh your legs are hairy!" And I say " do you think I care? Also you shouldn't worry either bc there not your legs.😄"
Good job!! 👏 I'm so proud of you guys! It took me a long time to get to that place
And OMG it is so worth it and I'm never going back
You go girl ✊
You all sounds like idiots
The only person that has ever told me to shave my armpits..
Was my brother.
He was 16. I was 12. He said that girls aren’t supposed to have body hair. It apparently bothered him.
Kill it
Once my classmate commented on my legs (I wore 3/4 black leggings): Did she fogot to shave? He told that to boys from our class and my good friend told me about it because he felt like I would like to hear it. I was so shocked! It's my choice to shave or not! (Btw. It was in 6. Grade!!) That is your choice girl/boy to shave and only you can decide what will you do. Don't let others tell you what you should do!
im happy i have a small class so everyone is friends with everyone but like in our class no one cares if u have hairy legs or not
I started to pressured to shave in the sixth grade. Because all the other girls did it. I did eventually stop shaving.
@@hoboducks6697 how many people do you have in your class?
@@ellahowie5917 31 in my class
I stoped shaving my legs and armpits over 2 years ago. My legs are super hairy and no I wasn’t a super confident person before I did this. I just don’t see a need to do it and I just don’t think about it. It saves so much time and water and I love it honestly. It feels empowering to know I’m doing something out of the norm and having people see that and think “wow she really doesn’t care” is so cool. Just hair everyone grows it. Once you start growing it it becomes so normal.
This is not related in anyway, but the room is very pretty.
Yes, but the carpet is only under 1 of the sofa legs, and not the other. It's annoying me!
I think women should be as Natural as they want to be. I'd totally date a girl with body-hair. "Let your Garden Grow" - do what makes YOU Feel comfortable. Earthy, Bohemian and All-Natural is Sexy. oNe LovE from NYC
Love that :)
You're freaking nasty. Women need to shave. -signed, all self respecting men
@@NLC519 correction *signed all misogynistic incel's
@@NLC519 so self respecting men think they can control what someone else does with their body? Makes so much sense lmao
YES! I like how unlike most comments you say that people should do what they like! I personally like shaving (for myself and maybe once or twice a month) but if someone else doesn’t shave I don’t care. You choose what to do with your body as long as it doesn’t harm you or others.
Why dont we make a thing Called no shaving september
Fie.x.tilde Stop Shaving September 💀
Its called noshavember. Men do this and women too, I dont though I have to shave my legs no matter what, lol!
