I really wish this had gone more into the feel, texture and bounce of each ball. It drives me crazy when kids start talking about how guys couldn't shoot or dribble back in the day when they have no idea how lopsided and slick those old basketballs were.
The design of the 2006 ball looks great. I like how the lines don't meet at the end. Obviously they got the feel wrong but the line design looks superb.
They will be good let’s hope Kd actually goes back to 100% he may not and that would suck I hate Kd but I hate seeing people get hurt I’m a bulls fan and hopefully nobody has their career screwed up like D-rose did
@@itsmilobro4498 I don't think so, I understand your worries, but Kyrie wanted to be on a team with Kevin. Plus, when he was on the Celtics, he was the most experienced player on a young team, something he wasn't used to. The only real issue this team has is KD, the achilles injury is still an achilles injury, he will probably suffer some type of loss, we just don't know how much.
I like both brands, feels like the NBA had more problems with having Spalding re-design the ball to fit their needs than anything else, shame after 127 years they aren't the ball makers of the NBA.
They have to bring Spalding back as the official ball, that NBA logo has to be on the jerseys again. Those are the most important things that the NBA must definitely change again. Apart from a number of rule changes, to make the game more interesting again
@@whoisriley hahaha yeah i was thinking of doing that, ive already bought a wilson ball imma resell it later thanks for the input tho i rlly appreciate it
Anyone like the 2006 Spalding basketball? I remember waiting 3 months to get one and I was very disappointed the ball was like sandpaper and actually cut my hands
Another major difference with the 84 ball was the wider and deeper black channels, which really added control. Funny thing is that I have an old ball, no memory of how I got it, but it must be from the 80's. It's made by MacGregor, who mainly make baseball stuff. It's an X4000 Nylon Wound (I think it's what Terminators play with :-). The cover has held up quite well, with no real wear on it. But it has the thin, shallow channels of pre-84 style. What's funny is it's a James Worthy signature model. I doubt it was for his rookie year, so it most likely is after 84, so maybe Spaulding had a patent on the thick channel design....or maybe it was just cheaper to make it w/o it, it's not a premium ball. It doesn't hold air anymore, otherwise I'd still use it.
I loved the design of the 2006 bowl. I wish that they would just bring the design back not the materials. It looked so good and it was just a change that was good to mix things up in the killed in a good way and the ball killed your fingers Please correct me if I messed up on any spelling.
Fun fact: the 2006 basketball wasn’t as bad as it seemed the problem actually was that it needed to be broken in for optimal grip which took a lot longer than the previous ball to do
I prefer the Spalding Ball from around 1997-1998 that I had as a kid, made out of leather, with the David J Stern signature, the one that Michael Jordan played with. Did not see that one here

1984 has to be the most iconic. Its gonna take a while to get used to a wilson ball.
It the same grip tho
It will take getting use to seeing on TV. But everyone been playin with Wilson over Spalding since the evolution came out.
Yea
@Manime ok
nobody gonna pay attention to what brand the players are using lol why does it matter
any video that states the phrase “balls deep” in its introduction gets a like from me

That's great, because I made a UA-cam video about your mother, and that phrase comes up a couple of times. Great to meet a fan.

We will have to wait to the Wilson ball at this rate
If Kyrie doesn’t hate basketball and if kd don’t get injured

Wilson has always made more comfortable basketball than spalding. Glad they switched!!
U should do more evolution videos keep up the good work
Nice video!
it’s always a pleasure watching your videos man you bring out some interesting facts that I didn’t know
2006 ball is probably the worst
NOT THE 2006 BALL
Me and my brother grew up using Wilson Basketball, Spalding Balls are good but im happy they made the switch.
splading is the o.g imma keep using that one bc wilson ones are gonna get hella expensive
get wilson now and sell after the nba starts using it. then you could prob get 3 spalding balls

Interesting video. Didn't know it started from a soccer ball.
I prefer the Wilson ball because they have a soft touch, easy to control , and they are not as easy to wear if you keep them indoors
Prefer molten. Because it is so great it has good grip. And I like how it looks when you shot!
Same
I always liked Spalding balls for outdoor play, but Wilsons for indoor
Spalding ball 🏀
Hehe he said balls deep

I think im going to hate the 2021-2022 season bro. Spalding is going to be missed
One epic vid by this dude cool
BRO THE 2006 BASKETBALL WAS SO GARBAGE
I agree. I have that Ball since 2008 and it totally suck. It will literally break your fingernails in half.
Ghostly Yagami YEAH I KNOW IT ALSO BOUNCED LOWER

It litterally slips in your hand unlike the original leather one

1984 is a classic and Wilson will take some time to get use to in the NBA
“We are going to go balls deep in the history of the balls”
Lmfao
my favorite ball was the basketball.
Wilson is a good ball but I like Spalding more because it's the original one.
I like how u photoshopped bol bol’s head onto baldi’s body😊😊
damn they looked like that?
That ball bouncing at the side is super distracting.
Evolution of hoops next?
This guy needs 100k subs
Damm Spalding how you loss that contact?
Ngl the 2006 ball looks cool
There was a significant design change between the 1984 ball and the replacement leather ball in 2006, you seem to have brushed over this.
It would be good to have the NBA logo in full color in the new Wilson ball.
Ball is life, Dr. James Naismith is the GOAT
I miss spalding basketball 🏀
Spalding 1984-2006 It`s my favorite basketball ball. Greeting`s from Serbia.

Omg I remember that ball at school that 2006 Spalding basketball. It was quite rough and hard to grip F were they thinking?!
I always wanted a 2006 NBA Spalding basketball, but never could. Was it really so bad?
Is that mel hirsch in the beginning of the vid ? 😂😂😂
I'm so bored I clicked on your channel to see if you made a new vid, and then realized that I already did.
“Balls deep” pause bro
Spalding and 1984
Even though it was in the aba the red white and blue ball was apart of ball evolution
I would go with the 2006 ball
Rebound rewind is so smart
Does anybody know where I can buy all the basketballs from the 1st to the last one?
The ABA red white and blue ball is my all time favorite ball
Rawlings used to do the official ABA game ball
Spalding will forever be the ultimate ball

I prefer Spaulding balls, not necessarily because of they’re quality, but because they’re what I’m more comfortable with.
Fun fact: the 2006 basketball wasn’t as bad as it seemed the problem actually was that it needed to be broken in for optimal grip which took a lot longer than the previous ball to do

When I played overseas we had Baden basketballs. I liked them.
My favourite boys than 1891 and 1894 I love using them I love using Stockhorse I don’t have the actual ones

The times he said balls in this video is actually hilarious
