Yeah Lambert Will from Herkimer Ny did that and had a small section in the museum till his family was trying to say he invited it months before Naismith did. So they got rid of all his memorabilia the family saved since then.

You literally skipped over the evolution of the breakaway rim. The NBA has had just two models. The Gared Snapback was introduced in 1981 and was the official rim of the NBA through 2008. In 2009 the Spalding Arena 180 became the official rim and still is to this day.
