Don's car is Sweet! But his throwback Direct Connection t-shirt brings back fond '80s memories of Chrysler factory support for hobbyists with technical support and performance parts that fueled the muscle car boom and restoration of vehicles just like his R/T. You are now our "Direct Connection" with great features like these! Thanks Lou!
In 77 I saw an ad in a Hot Rod magazine offering a free “I get mine from Direct Connection” t-shirt. Of course I clipped the order form and sent it to some PO Box in Detroit. I was very happy to find my free Mopar DC shirt in my mailbox a few weeks later. Even better was the fact I wasn’t charged any duty on it when it entered Canada. Proudly wore the shirt to class in high school. Fellow car guys among my classmates were savvy enough to know the slogan was NOT a drug reference.
Good note! Yes, I recall fondly leafing through the DC parts catalogue & ordering a few things as funds allowed and having the calendars, too. Then the Mopar Performance days in the 90's-2000's was it? :) Pre Daimler buyout days were special. ..too bad the company wasn't bought out by the employees or something first. Lee Iacocca later regretted giving Bob 'Sellout' Eaton the reins. ..funny how Fiat of all companies really helped them be a musclecar making company, once more, far better than the toxic buyout atmosphere under Daimler Benz. The future under the mega conglomerate, Stellantis..is unclear, but ok at the moment.
And these videos, with the owners who enjoyed them, will also be marveled at by our great grand kids. 😊👏I hope politicians don’t ban these cars from the roads where they belong.✌️

Super nice! My dad had a '69 Coronet back in the early '80's. It was just a regular Coronet with a 318 but it was really nice. He had it repainted, put a set of Cragars on it and headers and it was one of the better looking cars in town.
I had a numbers matching 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T back when I was in high school in the late 80's early 90's. I sold it in 1997 for $7,300. I always regret the mistake of selling that car.

Everytime I see one of these Mopar muscle car videos I am reminded of the one that got away! I had a chance to buy a 1970 Road Runner, bright green, air grabber hood scoop, pistol grip 4 speed, 440 six pack, dayna posi for $2,200 in 1981. It needed a throw out bearing in the clutch, and a front carburetor that was damaged in a small carb fire. I decided to keep my 1966 Mustang, and my 1966 Pontiac Grand Prix and not buy it. Lou, have you ever came so close to buying a car that you didn't and regretted it later in life? The fish that got away.......

Thirty four thousand miles WOW
Pretty low.
Super nice! My dad had a '69 Coronet back in the early '80's. It was just a regular Coronet with a 318 but it was really nice. He had it repainted, put a set of Cragars on it and headers and it was one of the better looking cars in town.

@@loucostabile I Think You I Will Look Again ! :)
I had a numbers matching 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T back when I was in high school in the late 80's early 90's. I sold it in 1997 for $7,300. I always regret the mistake of selling that car.

Hi Lou, thank you, for another great video! A very rare color: cupper metallic! It looks very unique & recognizable!
Hi Aelita, Happy to read you appreciate the rarity of this color. You're welcome, Lou
Hi zulumax1, A 1966 GTO in primer with no rust, for $1000.00....yep it happens to us :-) Lou
Stunning 69 Coronet 426 Hemi! The color is phenomenal!!

That's gorgeous and with a hemi! That's the same color as my father's 75 Duster. I was always jealous of my uncle's Buick Skylark, but my dad had a good taste in the color of the car.

@@loucostabile Ahh, so glad you did! &..I was 3 years old, then, ahaha! ..eating at a high chair..reeaally high..yellow & chrome steel. ..which my 1st car was, a '71 Satellite Sebring Plus, with a '75 police 440 in it I got in '84 for $1,500. ..seems that high chair had some kind of effect? Lol.

Beautiful colour & dog dish caps with colour matched rims a true sleeper.
Classic 69 er.

Really nice looking Hemi!!! I don't know how you wouldn't drive it as much as possible. Ok, I did get an underhood shot this time. The scoops are functional, looks like there is a chamber in the hood for outside air.
Hi Greg, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this Hemi!!! :-) I like driving them too, Lou
Hi Lou & Don, WOW - thank you so much for sharing this incredible and beautiful rare 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T HEMI car! The color combination is just stunning with the T5 Bronze Metallic exterior paint and beige interior with buckets and even a Tic Toc Clock Tach! :-) Don, the restoration on your car is just incredible and the attention to the small details is second to none, may I inquire, did you do the four year restoration your self or did a restoration shop do it for you and what shop? Thank you.
Hi Jason, Happy to receive a "WOW" :-) I'm not sure who did the restoration. My pleasure sharing with you, and you're welcome, Lou
@@loucostabile Hi Lou, thank you for your reply and I must have watched this video on Don's car at least a dozen times! :-) I am hoping that Don may read the comments and reply on who did the restoration on this Diamond! Please stay safe and well!

Talking about a trip down memory lane!! All the way down to using the trading post to shop for our next muscle car!!! I’ve bought and sold many thru that paper, I kinda wish it was still around. We waited for that thing to come out each Thursday to see if there were any new listings and then it was a race to beat the other guys to it!!!
Oh what a good time to be growing up and to be alive. I still wish it was about ten years older so I could have been buying them brand new instead of being second or third owner but better late than never tho huh!

Lou's production rate is awesome, I wonder how many of these guys are using 'My Car Story' as a publicity platform to sell their cars.

I think I like these Coronets better than Chargers. This one, I like the clean copper color inside and out, with the bottle caps on the wheels. A clean, understated look. And the rare Hemi with 4 speed is the treat! It would be hard for me to stay out of that car and keep the miles low.
Hi Michael, Happy to read you like this one :-) I'd have to drive this one once in awhile, Lou
Clean car! I really want an original Hemi Cuda but I would be to afraid to drive it.

I am wondering why the R/T badging is placed on the back fender when on most other 69 Corronet R/T’s it is mote near the door on the back fender. Anyone know why?
AND there goes Lucky Lou getting another ride in a beautiful rare car!! You deserve it Lou for bring these cars to us!
Hi Dave, Not sure why the badge placements, and yes I hope a Viewer with knowledge can share :-) My pleasure sharing the ride with you, Lou
