- Shabu-shabu (しゃぶしゃぶ) is a Japanese dish featuring thinly sliced beef or pork boiled in water. Many varieties of vegetables are also offered. The ingredients are stirred in a cooking pot and served with dipping sauces.

It's become a habit for me to watch your videos at night when i'm hungry.. I've had the flu all week and i have barely eaten and this looks delicious
肉がピンク色になったら食べ頃です。あまり長くしゃぶしゃぶしていると肉が固くなります。１０秒くらい。
If it becomes pink, meat is ready to eat. When the beef and vegetables cooked in broth is made so long, meat becomes solid. About 10 seconds.

I'm not going to lie I get a little excited when I see a new Eric meal time haha. The place looked really interesting and honestly I'd be willing to try it out despite there only being 2 types of meat for the basic package as you said in the video. I really enjoyed watching you two chow down on some awesome stuff, good review, and I could see how it would get a little boring after the first 10 minutes haha. Overall I'd give it rating of 4 just because of the amount of food you can eat and get full quickly, but more meats would help definitely. Loved the video, you 2 are always awesome, and see you guys on the next episode! Cheers and happy holidays.

I love Japanese food culture... you can eat spicy stuff, sour stuff, good beef, fresh seafood... and it is still some how national food :DDDD
Since i don't eat meat i could only have their tofu. As for the pork and beef i don't think they are national i think those came from american influences.
Japan was more a fish and rice type nation.

WOW That last round was crazy! The place where i eat offers 4 kinds of meat, beef, pork, chicken and mutton. So a little bit more of a variety.

We had shabu shabu the other night with friends for Christmas dinner.
For the cooking soup we had a miso mix and the shops regular mix. With the leftover soup we udon in one soup and made a risotto with the other.

I always watch these late at night and it sucks as I can't go make any food! I'm going to see is there is anything like this in my local area i'd love to go to a place like this it looks amazing! I'd rate it a 6 as i am extremely hungry right now and it looks delicious!

Shabu-Shabu is a great one time experience. However, on my more recent trips to Japan I gave it a pass. There are just so many more exciting dishes to dive into.

Fun fact! Shabu Shabu is named as it is because of the way it's meant to be cooked. The thinly sliced meat is supposed to be dunked in for every 'Shabu'. And thus, the reason why there are 2 Shabu(s). The third would result in overcooked and a really hard texture. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I read this somewhere.

Not going to lie you had me going there. It might have been because I watched your tempura meal time before this but everything looked great. In my head I had assumed a 5 star rating but I guess some things have to be experienced. There are quite a few things that I would hope to try and I don't even know what those things are but I am finding out a few of them from watching you Meal Time videos so keep it up!

That looked good. Usually, I don't like places where you have to cook or assemble the food but when I went to a shabu shabu place, they brought the boiling pot of soup w/ all the veggies already cooked and you literally just dipped the meat in the soup pot for about 5 seconds and then ate it. Then you fished for whatever veggies you wanted. It was great but cost more than this place on the video. Still, it looked like good food and great fun.

Chinese version of this (hot pot) is one of my favorite foods. Very spicy soup base makes all the difference + a lot of coriander on dip sauce.. yummy..
