Lol the Brett story at the end So at my local college I would always bring a copy of GG and play it while I wasn't going to class. I did this so much everyone knew me as the GG guy there
I was a cpu only player too. But the +R discord was a great way to find matches where I could chat with people to ask them how they got me, or how do I defend that, or how should I attack you. And it's easy to find other newbies playing. They've been really helpful and have gotten me to think less about things in terms of wins and losses and more on experiencing the different ways people play characters and how to find answers for the moves that kick my butt. Although it still stings getting bodied so hard sometimes - but it doesn't crush me like it used to.
I saw the video on the +R discord. I'm glad I joined. Majority of active players have good behavior, I sense no hostility. I was "fine" playing Tekken 7 ranked alone, but +R-ollback #matchmaking-NA where the party's at. Every session i have i just wild out, it's hard not to smile. Lot of us on the discord celebrate each other's accomplishments. I hope more people who were too intimidated to try GG give the +R discord a chance.
Even though I mainly play May, I love A.B.A, her risk/reward gameplay and having to maintain her Moroha mode and having to time when to revert back to Normal mode is just ton of fun to me
Great documentary! Really agreed with some of the later points. I'm not a veteran to this series, but since getting back into XX thanks to rollback, I've learnt that it's my favourite game of all time, going to be playing it for as long as I can imagine, I hope it continues to grow and move forward at a good pace alongside Strive!
This is an awesome documentary! I just started playing +r recently and have been LOVING it. I have enjoyed watching Guilty Gear and been to several Frosty Faustings but never sat down and played it. I signed up for +r for the next Frostys and I'm so hyped! I guess me being previously Melee player makes this game just so sick to me and I love it!
That 20 minutes flew by! Great video! I've only recently gotten into the scene with the advent of rollback but the community has been super inviting. Running events has been a blast.
Good video, but I feel like the story behind how rollback came to be deserved a bit more attention. Perhaps that can be its own documentary? Also feels kinda neat to make cameos in something as well made and guaranteed to be widely viewed as this.
Good idea for a doc! I've been tossing around more ideas like the origin of the tech we rely on. In the meantime, Hold Back to Block's documentary on netcode in fighting games is outstanding, I vouch for it 100%, everyone should watch it.
@@drfudgecookie5800 bbcf which now also has good netcode! these days I play +R and cf around the same amount and even managed to convince my locals to run +R after a few months of running it myself as a side bracket
What makes +r great to watch is watching what crazy things people can pull off But as soon as its a matchup that im not interested in its hard to enjoy watching it Strive on the other hand is enjoyable because it looks so pretty and satisfying visually but it gets older more quickly as well
IMO the best Guilty ever, past, present, and future. BTW this wasn't featured on Eventhubs, at least I checked the first 5 pages and didn't see it. No surprised, since I always thought EventHubs is pretty commercial and doesnt care about old games and the niche who still play these amazing games. To have another game like Guilty Gear ACCENT core Plus R, the universe has to go Big Crunch and Big Bang again, this game is special and unique. Also Kudos to Team French Caliburst for giving this game a second chance.
After getting into the series since Signs, and became a fan since a friend got me into rev 2. I will check this game out on steam,I already emulated it. XD
I have a sense of love and hate for Plus R. It's really a fun game to play casually with a friend, just pushing buttons, but it's annoying to learn, and I can't find someone at my level to play, it's just frustrating.
I'd like a definitive version where the EX characters are immediately available and balanced, they bring back the custom Robo Ky mode (Isuka), and with customizable character pallets (Isuka).
As (the? a?) guy that sorta firestarted the project turned update (yes, it was a project *turned* update) i'm glad +R getting a retrospective but as to how it got revived it's just like "yes" Well-made for sure,
Yeah I didn't have all the steps in it because there's basically nothing visual I can do with that information that isn't complex and demanding from a production standpoint, and I wanted to avoid naming names to avoid bringing up folks (not yourself) who are no longer welcome in my stuff or the fgc in general
At 13:04 there’s my friend "dovaburn61" rarely plays the game but some times takes my challenge because I bought him the game and it’s fun ! T’as vu ça Léo ?!
This is good, but I have a small nitpick. You say there were like 6 years between installments of the XX series between Accent Core and Accent Core Plus R, but you forgot about Accent Core Plus, released in 2008.
Yeah my bad, it gets even more confusing because there's no physical version of plus R, so a lot of my product shots were from Plus copies I found on ebay.
Unless at least pentagrams are present and/or the devil is put in some positive light I think it is an extreme disservice to the game to say it has satanic imagery (And quite ghoulish to say that would be a good thing!) If anything some of the games have apocalyptic imagery which is different. And with characters such as Sin and Ky as heroes, it could be said the games actually have positive Christian imagery.
Actually I'm the one who said that, and part of my point in saying it was that games after XX have tried to "clean up" all the queer and satanic imagery and references, presumably to appeal to a more "mainstream" western audience (you know, the sort of audience that calls removing stuff they like "censorship" but still gets upset about stuff like that in their media). So yes, there are some pentagrams about in XX, but not Xrd

wonderful video, man! Playing +R with friends these last few months have been a wonderful experience
I feel the same, it's been a great thing to play socially under the circumstances
That’s inspiring to give this a try for switch.
sometimes this game is on sale for $2-3 and I cannot think of a better way to spend $2, even on switch where you don't get rollback
