  • Stephen goes down a rabbit hole of reproducing the chateau in miniature!

Sara, an IT professional & Stephen a graphic designer and artist are world-traveling Canadians who dreamt of moving to Europe, and France in particular. In 2020 they were working from home when Stephen turned to Sara and popped the question she was longing to hear, “What would have to be true for us to buy a chateau in France?” They searched online for months viewing hundreds of properties. They narrowed their search and toured some properties when they happened upon the one that captured our hearts, Château de Saint-Germain-des-Prés. A year later they made the move to France to start their new adventure in our beautiful Château. They created “Manor and Maker” to reflect the two sides of their adventure. One, to live as chateau owners with all the ups and downs and two, to pursue their passions as makers, creating art in all its forms. They will invite others to come together, united by their passions, to share in this adventure. We invite you to join us too, as we bring our dreams to life. Welcome to Manor & Maker.

Here's another idea (like you need more things to do ...) You could eventually print molds of all the chateaux of the various chateau friends you have, and design a board game with them. The miniature printed (or made from molds) chateaux would be the game pieces for the board game :)

I was thinking more of a ghost story game. So, not a game to collect houses or money, but maybe a game where each player (representing a chateau) collects ghostly points by landing on various squares or meeting challenges, and then attains the victory label of Haunted Chateau. Or it could be a hunt by the players to discover which chateau is haunted, with the reveal at the end, like Clue.

You should make and market a dollhouse in the shape of your chateau! One that folds up like a suitcase, with hinges on one end! Closes up all tidy when you’re done playing! Decor sold separately….. lol. I have dollhouses on my mind! I realized I wasn’t packing up and moving to FRANCE for the Chateau of my Dreams a few weeks ago when my newly-married son bought a house only 3 miles away and has a wife who is raring to grow the family after 10 years of being together! Lol I’ve been thinking of building my own miniature. Like the one Jared made for Stephanie of Chateau LaLande! But I’d rather just buy one. A miniature of YOURS would be FREAKIN AWESOME!

SUGGESTION: If you make any more molds, use double sided tape on the bottom of your model to hold it down. It is very sticky and should do the trick. That way you won’t have the whole of the popsicle stick in the top of your mold. Hope this is helpful.

I fell in love with you two when I first saw you on Chateau Diaries! Oh Stephen the things you can make with that miniature chateau! Sara you looked beautiful in your floral dress, and with your sewing talents, I'm wondering if you made it and/or Stephen's floral shirt? Also that amazing desk is a exquisite piece of workmanship, you just don't find things like that anymore and I can't wait to see where you will put it in your chateau. Oh I just started to follow you on Instagram as well, I didn't know you had one until you stated such in this video! As always I'm excited for your next video! Cheers!

Thank you so much for your support. We are so happy you're along for the ride. The outfits were not Sara's creation this time but thanks for the compliments.

Maybe try turning the model upside down in the silicone? Then simply weighting it with something on top should be enough. So cool! Great project!

You could get Other Chateau owners to purchase to sell chocolates of their Chateaus.
I see it as a way to fund Chateau projects.
