I understand why Julie fell in love with Luke - he’s very charming with a sweet sense of humor. However, as an American, I have Julie’s back on setting a table for dinner. 😂😊
It is so good that Luke knows so much, he is so good at explaining all these life skills and knowledge he has. I could listen to his lovely English accent every time and all the details he delves into.
Yes, please do more of the "secret" places around/in Mapperton! They're such treats for us! I really do appreciate your willingness to share it all with us - thank you!
I really enjoyed the bathroom tour, making a fire, and Luke's continued historic information while Julie argues and laughs. 😂 Maybe my favorite episode. ❤
You two should do stand-up....I found myself laughing out loud when Luke is talking about the kiln and Julie's scarf is stuck to something... Hysterical.
You two seriously make my day. I randomly laugh out loud with you. Luke is a card 😂😂😂 I love how you interact and laugh together. After twenty something years of marriage, four children and such busy lives, you still find together time and make it fun ❤ "No, we don't have a crapper" ...... "Well that's a bummer" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was finished 👏 👏 poor Thomas Crapper... The dinner 🍽 table oh the dinner table 🙄 😅 I really loved this video.
Oh my goodness, you two are hilarious together! There were numerous times I laughed right out loud! The crapper, the table setting, laying the fire, getting “shocked” at the outlet, on and on! Just too funny! Thank you for the laughs! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
I felt like I was watching Lucy & Ethel and some of their stunts today. Good fun!! Love the summer house - I think that's what Luke called it? It could be a cozy place!
This compilation is my absolute favorite episode on your channel. I laughed all the way through. You could offer "The Loo Tour" on open days for a premium fee.
Lol. Loved the episode. You both are very entertaining together. And as a fellow American, it is funny to hear a British husband say he hopes to see his wife finally smile today. When we Americans think of British we don't envision them smiling. British are usually so stoic and proper in what we see and Americans are laid back relaxed. It is nice to see your smiling British fun husband. You both are great for each other. God bless you!
I don't know if Luke based his marriage proposal on Julie's ability to set a proper British table! I'm guessing not, as he was finding fault with almost everything she did - you both are very entertaining and I laughed out loud at various points throughout! Thank you for helping me get through this day - having an allergy attack! 🥰
It wasn't allergies, it was actually COVID!! I caught it from my patient/client who had been exposed at her Dr's visit earilier that week. We both recovered within a week, but I had a couple miserable days. Your videos got me through and kept my spirits positive, which helped!! 😷😊
The use of burnt limestone as a fertilizer was first used in the colonies in US county of Loudoun, VA. By the 1700s, soils in the US South had been depleted and become very acidic from growing tobacco. Adopted from the English invention in 1758, using lime as a fertilizer restored the soil. By the Revolutionary War, the soils were healthy enough for Loudoun to become the breadbasket of the new nation with its bountiful wheat and corn fields.
So interesting! Thank you for sharing this bit of local history. Such a shame that in current times open land and farm land is being used for data centers instead of agriculture.
Thank you to you both for a great video, I love Luke's sense of humour and love of history. Julie table setting made me smile,,...that napkin over the consommé bowl was very funny. You are great fun! My late husband was from Chelsea, and told me that Thomas Crapper had his shop on the King's Road...loved all the different loos. I use an old floral porcelain bucket from a commode as a paper bin next to my desk.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this video!!!! I just howled!!! Luke's wit is priceless and Julie, you are the perfect accomplice :-) So much fun to watch. By the way, I envy your water pressure in the ...ummm...toilet. (sorry, but the other words just don't work on my American voice.) Super well done video and thank you for so many laughs!
Oh Luke and Julie, I would give anything to be there to play Croquet with both of you. I laughed so hard watching you play. I loved your entire video, as always. Thank you so much for inviting me into your home in this way. It is marvelous! Although we have never met, I feel I already know you. Thank you for making me smile.
“You knew where you were taking me”, I am laughing out loud actually😂 Luke you are in so much trouble😂 You two are endlessly entertaining and pure joy to watch!! You bring so much laughter into our lives, and I could not be more grateful and happy that you share these amazing and yet day to day snippets of your lives with us 🙏🏽 😃
Crapper! I found myself repeating that in my head all day! The glances Julie makes to the camera are laugh-out-loud funny. Luke is such a smarty pants, loads of knowlegde=Brilliant! *Julie what brand of jacket is that? Love it!
I grew up in the American eastern mountains and my grandparents had this same structure without a iron gate but it was a spring house…you went and drank from it, could cook from it or bath not in it but from the water because the water had been cleaned from the rocks of the mountain as the spring trickled into it. It was the cleanest freshest water you could have back then 👍
Though it is nice to see a segment of you guys as a nice couple enjoying each other and the place you call home. Stop every once in a while and smell the roses
My father, an 8th generation American, referred to a chamber pot as a "thunder mug." My own favorite euphemism for, um, "using the facilities" is that I need to "step down the hall."
Without even trying, you two definitely rival Laurel and Hardy (minus the extra pounds/stone)! Luke, you definitely hit the nail on the head with your tour of the lavatories at Mapperton - the tour all of us have wanted to see, but were too polite to ask! The sheer variety is impressive, but the history is also very interesting. I knew about Mr. Crapper's invention, but have always thought it the height of injustice that he made such an important contribution to human health and comfort, and his name became a swear word. And Julie, your reaction to Luke's cheating at croquet was totally appropriate. You definitely won!
Luke Some eyes on the Thing that pops up on the crapper tank would be great. the one with the fancy wood seat. Only you could make restrooms fun. lol. love your channel.
Incroyable. Après 20 ans de vie commune avoir su conserver une telle complicité et respect mutuel! By the way: Karl Lagerfeld aurait été enchanté de passer un week-end à Mapperton.
The interplay between these two is so entertaining. This is not the traditional Vicountess, especially with her posing on the loo with a toilet brush. The constant interruption and talking over is almost frustrating until it becomes hilarious. Thank you for sharing this. I might have to watch it again.
I would venture to say that Julie was Not a Girl Scout in her growing up years near Chicago. I built many fires to cook with in my 63 years. Tinder, Kindling and Fuel. Dryer lint is extremely flammable.
The napkin on top of the bowl took me back to my old altar boy days when the chalice was covered by pall and the purificator. I haven't been an altar boy since the 90s but it's amazing how much you remember.
I have a favorite WC when visiting England so I find this hilarious 😂 It's in Whitelock's, the oldest operating pub in Leeds, and is an old-fashioned WC 😁 Beautiful goldfish design at the base of the bowl, with the traditional pull flush water in the box overhead. Love it!
You two are hilarious. I've been binge-watching your shows and this one was the best. And I love the house in Italy videos a lot. Looking forward to the next one.
Goodness. This literally was like watching I Love Lucy. The chemistry you two have is perfect for being behind the camera and the genuine banter is absolutely hilarious. I haven’t laughed this hard in a good while! 😂 Your channel is quickly becoming a favorite. Thank you for sharing it with us!
This was such a wonderful fun video. The interactions between you two are funny and sweet. One of my favorites. The history of hidden places is so interesting too.
You guys are just terrific ❤🎉😂😊❤🎉! Please do more of these talks! Also, please do some foraging recipes and cooking again! I really miss these! Hugs and love to you both!
Yes a down to earth episode where everyone has used one of these, it will be interesting to see from the comments all the variations to the common piece of critical equipment. Wow a 10 bowl manor, that is unbelievable. Here in Australia we have numerous titles: Dunny, out house, human excrement disposal device. What a humours topic and well done Viscount and Viscountess. Did we cover off on what Nestor has on his Yacht. Thank once again for such a great episode. Take care and God Bless 😇👍🙏🏰🚽
My Grandmother taught me to open up a large sheet of newspaper after lighting the fire and hold it taunt across the fire opening. This helps the fire catch and draw up the chimney,so it didn’t smoke into the room.
This is the most entertaining video! I kept giggling about your antics. Both you Luke and Julie should be on national television with your own show! You would have every viewer in stitches! 😂🎉😅❤
Y’all are so cute together! Love that you don’t take yourselves too seriously. Such a fun video. Oh and thank you Luke for not calling the bathroom the t word like so many Brits and Europeans do. Such a gross word!
I love that Julie is so American! I am surprised that after 20 years she hasn’t learnt how to lay a table, even though I suspect they have staff who normally do this. Love this video.
Oh my gosh. ......I love you both ...... it is a long time that I lought sooooo much......really from the bottom of my heart!!!! We all need this so much in this times......you are so wonderful people......I had the honour to speak a few words with Luke In may when I visited Mapperton with my family......and he is a very wonderful human. Julie is an amazing person, a real princess in her special own way. I hope my English is good enough for you to understand what I mean ❤❤❤❤❤ Greetings from Austria/ St Valentin Michaela Mitterhuber & Familie
so awesome, best episode by far, you two ruffians are lucky to have such nice wickets , Julie is such a good sport I doubt Thomas crapper would have ever imagined such a beautiful model sharing his invention across modern comms channels !!!!
Luke and Julie, I recently discovered your channel, and I'm smitten with it. You two are sooo adorable and entertaining! Your energy together is palpable. What great give and take in your banter and also sweet at the same time. I can see you "get" each other, and that's an a wonderful recipe for a long and happy union. I understand why Julie fell in love with Luke - he’s very charming with a sweet sense of humor. However, as an American, I have Julie’s back on setting a table for dinner. 😂😊
Jule still the American “Let’s get a move on here. “ when laying the fire. Lol! ✌️❤️🇺🇸
I am sitting here in NC USA thinking yes yes yes I get it 😂
Definitely the funniest video so far. Love Luke’s dry English humor!
Oh my gosh, this episode is just what I needed today! I'm laughing so much and learning things I didn't know I wanted to learn! 😂 Thank you both!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just wish I could’ve found a man to where I could’ve enjoyed such a lovely relationship as they have - I’m so happy for them both
The viscount was brought up by some hilarious parents!
It is so good that Luke knows so much, he is so good at explaining all these life skills and knowledge he has. I could listen to his lovely English accent every time and all the details he delves into.
Please do more I love the chemistry of you both ❤
I remember this,lolololololol!!!!!!!!
" We havnt got a crapper"
"Well,thats a bummer"
Lololol!!!
Yeah I only have British friends online and they taught me early not to say everything is a bummer lol.
Yes, please do more of the "secret" places around/in Mapperton! They're such treats for us! I really do appreciate your willingness to share it all with us - thank you!
yes to parts 2 and 3 please 🙏 I enjoy your videos but this may be my favorite episode! also Julie won
Love Luke, such a good balance and love that British humor!
Hysterical.
Burns & Allen 😁
But which one is which?
I liked Julie's berry-eating tease, that was hilarious!
yeah the scarf getting stuck was hilarious!
Hysterical. "Julie's going to give you a berry tour." 😂
You two seriously make my day. I randomly laugh out loud with you. Luke is a card 😂😂😂 I love how you interact and laugh together. After twenty something years of marriage, four children and such busy lives, you still find together time and make it fun ❤
"No, we don't have a crapper" ...... "Well that's a bummer" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was finished 👏 👏 poor Thomas Crapper...

Stephen: "You need a nettle detector" Lol
Luke: Stephen that is the joke of the day 😂
It's great enjoying your chemistry - thanks for sharing, and for the tour
You two are such a hoot! Laugh out loud funny. Just loved this so much. And loved all the history- endlessly fascinating
I felt like I was watching Lucy & Ethel and some of their stunts today. Good fun!! Love the summer house - I think that's what Luke called it? It could be a cozy place!
It was so much fun watching you two! You 2 are hilarious 😅😂😂
Lots of information too. I love this type of video.!
This compilation is my absolute favorite episode on your channel.

🇺🇸Like Julie, I thought the “10 loo list” was legit. There really IS quite a difference between American and English humor.🇺🇸

That is amazing to know, I am descended from a Quaker named Nichols whose daughter married a Hatcher who lived in Loudoun during the Revolution.
Julie: "What! What! What!".😂... informative and funny, a great combination!
I love the quaint little mill room with the windows that look out on the pool and garden. It could be charmingly English!
My grandpa used that word "crapper" for the "water closet".... 😂😂😂
Mine used "shitter."
Love all the little out of the way places.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this video!!!! I just howled!!! Luke's wit is priceless and Julie, you are the perfect accomplice :-) So much fun to watch. Thank you so much!!
I am pretty sure I've never laughed harder at one of your episodes then Luke talking about his father's report on the 10 bowls at the Manor 😂😂
Thank you for making my morning so pleasant! Many smiles and chuckles here in Michigan.
Oh Luke and Julie, I would give anything to be there to play Croquet with both of you. I laughed so hard watching you play. I loved your entire video, as always. This was an amazing episode. Loved seeing the behind the scenes crappers!!
Luke & Julie, This was a joy to watch both of you are so wonderful together ❤

This is the most delightful video ever!!!! Absolutely love it😊
Now I have to go England and visit your beautiful place! Yes, fix the kiln... the more history you can preserve, the better!
I grew up in the American eastern mountains and my grandparents had this same structure without a iron gate but it was a spring house…you went and drank from it, could cook from it or bath not in it but from the water because the water had been cleaned from the rocks of the mountain as the spring trickled into it. It was the cleanest freshest water you could have back then 👍
You may want to check because I know historically the English tried to avoid water in the 1500s thinking it caused disease
Also could you refilm the bit about 39 minutes so i can learn what Luke was talking about without berry distraction
Though it is nice to see a segment of you guys as a nice couple enjoying each other and the place you call home. Stop every once in a while and smell the roses
❤

lol In the South, we call it the Bathroom. A toilet is a fixture in the bathroom as vanity with sink, shower and tub.
You two are CLEVER and entertaining ❤
omg - the 'restroom' tour was too much😄 humorous indeed! Enjoyed the revisiting of the property...Thank you for sharing Mapperton
I would venture to say that Julie was Not a Girl Scout in her growing up years near Chicago. I built many fires to cook with in my 63 years. Tinder, Kindling and Fuel. Dryer lint is extremely flammable.
As a Girl Guide lighting fires, we considered ourselves most lucky if we came upon dry bits of birch bark. It was fabulous for tinder.
I love watching you two. Great video.
This was one of my favourite vlogs! Such fun!
The napkin on top of the bowl took me back to my old altar boy days when the chalice was covered by pall and the purificator. I haven't been an altar boy since the 90s but it's amazing how much you remember.
I just about died laughing. The comment on the toilet inspection list about potential “squatters”.
This is the funniest episode talk about laugh out loud! 😂😂😂
“Is it older than your country?” Hahahaah 😂
Thanks for this wonderful information! You two are hysterical! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Julie is such a good foil to Luke pretending not to know things
YES please...more
I love how Luke’s talking and Julie is just talking in the background just talking like every day, so, so funny. I love this episode.
Love it!

you guys are cracking me up 🤣!! Love to see all the hidden areas and land of Mapperton. Hello from Ohio!
Goodness. This literally was like watching I Love Lucy. The chemistry you two have is perfect for being behind the camera and the genuine banter is absolutely hilarious. I haven’t laughed this hard in a good while! 😂 Your channel is quickly becoming a favorite. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Thats it! A new tour...of Mappertons WCs! Now if you had a real Crapper loo...
The thing my grandchildren love the most in my house is the chain pull lavatory and the bar of soap.
This was hilarious and delightful.
This was such a wonderful fun video. The interactions between you two are funny and sweet. One of my favorites. The history of hidden places is so interesting too.
Love watching your channel. Hello from New Zealand
You guys are just terrific ❤🎉😂😊❤🎉! Please do more of these talks! Also, please do some foraging recipes and cooking again! I really miss these! Hugs and love to you both!
Loved this episode. Hilarious 😂
I needed a laugh. Thank you so much. May you all please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩
Love this video! You two are the gems of Mapperton House! ❤😅
Yes a down to earth episode where everyone has used one of these, it will be interesting to see from the comments all the variations to the common piece of critical equipment. You two are funny love the table setting bit thanks for sharing ❤
Omg, this was SOOOO much fun ! 😂😂😂
This was Konkers!😂😅 Laughed till I got hysterical 🤣 😅❤ loved every single moment!
My Grandmother taught me to open up a large sheet of newspaper after lighting the fire and hold it taunt across the fire opening. This helps the fire catch and draw up the chimney,so it didn’t smoke into the room.
Taunt?
What is amazing is that all those old toilets still actually work!
This is the most entertaining video! I kept giggling about your antics. Both you Luke and Julie should be on national television with your own show! You would have every viewer in stitches! 😂🎉😅❤
Watching Luke teaching Julie to properly lay a fire was laugh out loud funny!
This was definitely my favorite video.
I like the detail Luke puts into his stories.😉
One thing for sure whenever I go to the washroom/bathroom/toilet (sorry, Luke, I’m from Chicago), is that I want privacy when I flush the toilet. 😊
Love this video. More please!
Julie, that summer house would make a great shed place to get away.
Luke is freaking hilarious. Definitely seems like a chill dude to hang out with. Also love hearing him talk about the random history of the estate.
OMG, I absolutely enjoyed this video! Love the wonderful and refreshing chemistry between Julie & Luke. Keep these wonderful video's coming. 😀
Oh my gosh. ......I love you both ...... it is a long time that I lought sooooo much......really from the bottom of my heart!!!!
We all need this so much in this times......you are so wonderful people......I had the honour to speak a few words with Luke
In may when I visited Mapperton with my family......and he is a very wonderful human.
Julie is an amazing person, a real princess in her special own way.
I hope my English is good enough for you to understand what I mean ❤❤❤❤❤

Julie on toilet, falling in, with brush in hand was funny, funny, funny!
Talk about "treasure hunt" your Pa is a hilarious genius.. this is brilliant..
🥰Thanks!
Thank you!!
@@MappertonLive You are heartily welcome!
What I like about you both the most is the genuineness of your personalities. I can tell you are being your true selves with each other and we the viewers. So refreshing. It goes without saying you are incredibly and truly blessed to be in the positions you are in. It's literally a fairy tale life you are both living which the vast majority of people in the world (98-99%) are not. You have been blessed with the most auspicious vibes of karma, and good on you!! Cheers and keep up the fun vids!
