Scouts thought the 99 was a misread, so he backed it up with 98.6 😤

- Tread Athlete @drew_strotman came in and threw one of the easiest 99 mph fastballs we've ever seen. So easy, in fact, that several scouts looked around to see if it was maybe a misread. 🤯
He followed up with 98.6 just to make sure everyone knew it was real.
Someone sign this monster 👹

Nah wth this is the most casual 99 I’ve seen 😳
That’s how it should be. None of this muscled up gruntin. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.
Just because he looks effortless doesn't mean that he isn't max effort. When pitchers appear to be throwing with minimal effort, it tends to just mean that they have very clean sequencing without any major leaks. He's certainly trying to throw hard though.
@@treadathletics I tell myself to js stay relaxed and whip that arm at the last second but i already know that I still got some leaks to fix up but this guy does it so well that it look effortless 😅
@@treadathleticssomeone, I think Clemens, once said: you say im throwing effortless but I try so hard it even hurts my ass haha
He is putting in the effort but jst don’t look like it
I could listen to this all day.
It’s like I FINALLY understand ASMR
Was just thinking the same thing
Go to your mom's room, I've heard that sound in there quite often, but it's a bit faster lol. All jokes. This sound is satisfying
Fr the pop
Why the hell this dude throwing 95+ so casually.
Cause he can I guess .not sure the speed on those pitches is accurate
Josh Hader is one of my current favorite pitchers because he can throw 100mph so effortlessly.
All about how efficiently you can accelerate and decelerate the segments of the kinetic chain
@@johnhagan582trackman is as accurate as it gets
Because he can’t find the strike zone.
The run on some of those pitches is ridiculous
That run is going to mean Tommy John within five years
Exactly what popped in my head. How could you not swing at some of those balls that started off in the zone.
@trevor4542 at this point TJ is an expectation. His arm-side run is excellent
That glove was popping so hard. If he can throw strikes it would suck to face this guy.
It'd suck to face him if he can't throw strikes. I could duck a 70 MPH pitch. I dunno about 90+.
@@SaltyOldBaldurianpretty ez around 90. 100 is a lot worse and i’ve never seen it live. 90 doesn’t really hurt unless you get unlucky or didn’t turn properly
Yo this Bros got some serious core strength.. throwing 99 like he's playing g catch with the boys.
my mom thought 99 temp was a misread so i backed it up with 98.6😎
His mechanics are so clean 😮
so clean, he can’t throw a strike
That fastball movement is crazy
My fastball moves more than that. More like an ARC though 😂
@@bch5513lol..I get it 😂
The catcher after his hand😭💀☠🥶
People don't realize how bad catchers got it. You catch a little off on the side of the glove and you can say goodbye to your hand for a few weeks. don't even get me started on the knees :(
He's got some movement on that heater
Back catches awesome
18 pitches visible, 6 strikes. This is why these guys have 5-8 eras in the minors.
Could've been a velo day, you don't worry about control on days like that.
@@damienirvin777 it’s just way too common now, throw as hard as you can, get in bad counts, serve up gopher balls.
Right. Cause hitters ONLY swing at balls in the zone...smh
@@bkeyes6684 you’ve obviously never played past little league
You know that breaking balls aren’t supposed to end in the zone, right?
bro put in 0 effort for that 99☠️☠️☠️
hes throwing like hes playing toss with a toddler smh and clocking 99 thats disgusting lol
I can watch this catcher catch all day
Bringin heat!
These keep getting more satisfying to watch!
Love the sound of the ball hitting the mitt. It has a snap to it when hit perfect 👍
Man that looks effortless to him 💨
Both pitcher and catcher.
So no control on the heat and meatball breaking stuff. Perfect.
Let's see u hit it Coach Recliner
ha was thinking the same thing lol.
He doesn’t even look like he’s trying, it’s so smooth
That first pitch was beautiful
Makes it look effortless
Serious heat🔥
Incredible velocity for such easy mechanics. That 2 seam might actually be his best pitch. That mid-80s breaking pitch looked little off but this guy has some serious stuff and never skips leg day.
Yep, it's all in the legs
That was so smooth and controlled I had to double check if it was really 99😅
Dude is throwing some ⛽️
Dude would of walked the bases loaded.
Shout out to Catch!
fkn vacuum
We need to see this guys max pulldown
god bless the catcher, those balls had some BREAK to them
So smooth.
Just a walk in the park. I caught for guy who threw 90 like nothing in high school and this guy makes it look effortless. That tailing fastball moving in is a nasty pitch.
So effortless
Big league's baby Dame
I wonder how fast he could throw if tried a little harder. Smooth as silk
I could watch this all day
Great velocity and movement but I saw maybe 5 strikes out of 16 pitches? Someone teach this guy a FOLLOW THROUGH!!!! 😩😩😩
95 with a sinker is much better. Trust me, I had that kind of movement. And what happens when they hit a dribbler, slug bunt? I know I could teach this guy a sinker. It’s called pitching not throwing. A better follow through will also make his off speed stuff 10 times more effective. Thank you 🙏
Dude def getting scouted pitches are accurate fast and dirty
Awesome awesome pitching.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
W Catcher!!
Nice movement!!!
This is is the results of a lot of work on mechanics.
Pitchin is evolving so quickly that I almost worry about the longevity of today’s pitcher in today’s league the days of signing pictures to 10 year deals are all but done. They are training these kids throw harder and with more and more spin right which is literally Pine boxing pitchers elbows early requiring not only one Tommy John but multiple all I can say is stay healthy. Take care of yourself and see if you can get it better at a position if you’re looking for a long career just my opinion
So smooth
nothing like have a crooked 98 for a first pitch strike
Good catching
That second to last pitch, the 85 right up the pipe- would’ve been absolutely moon shot…
Serious question for Content Creator. Does Tread Athletics just have a lockdown on catcher's? I watch all these pitchers (some of them are wild as heck🎉😂) but the catchers are catching these 95mph wild pitches like its nothing. Give your catchers some love
👀

Couple 97s, 98s in there too
what a great sound!!
He’s got some nice tight late movement on his 2 seamer. Control looks okay
We're actually scouting the catcher
Nice catcher.
Most effortless 99 ive seen
Straight gas
Definitely can throw with little effort. Imagine angel Hernandez watching all those pitches. They’d all be strikes
Back in the day pitchers throwing 90-91 mph fastballs were considered flame throwers 😮
Yeah he can hit it casually but almost every pitch is wild.
Snap, snap, snap...rock n fire
Damn Thats some nasty stuff! 🔥⚾️
Eaaaasy motion!
Casually throwing 95+ with seemingly no effort
The pop of the mit 🤌
Nasty!!!!! ❤
7 pitches were in strike zone
Just a casual stroll down the bump... 99!
That is the most effortless 99 and 98.6 i have ever seen
Some people are just wired a little tighter. That 99 looking effortlessly 😂
You can hear that sizzling as soon as it leaves his hand!
Best one I’ve seen in a while.
Maybe it is the camera but it almost seems like the upper 90s pitches are floating.
Weird arm slot too
6 maybe 7 in the zone 😎
Velocity is good, wonder if he can learn to hit the glove more than 15% of the time
He is a hard thrower
Das fizzin bro.
Good velocity, good movement on the fastball, throwing in the 90's nearly effortlessly. If he puts in some work on his control he is going to be tough to beat. Hopefully some scout doesn't throw him in as a reliever and kill his arm
Scouts don't make those calls. But he's been used as both a starter and a reliever in his 6-year MiLB career so far.
@@treadathletics thanks for the info
That thing hisses off his hand
This guy is has less control this Christian Hackenburg 😂
Sounds like a Phil Collins intro
effortless -- reminds me of Mo Riviera
Needs to find that release sp
All big league hitters can get around on 95 mph, it's no big deal. But learning to pitch is another.
This guy's gonna need Tommy Johns soon
DAMN!!!
That tunneling is deadly
어깨 그대로 멀정한거 진짜 기적임
Why is that so smooth?
We gotta winner
That first pitch tho 😢
Really side arm release
Free and easy. Very impressive.
The movie, Trouble With The Curve - "I heard it." This sound we're hearing right here - THAT's the sound...
Doesn't matter how hard it is if it's not a strike lol
Too cool 98.1 😎 👍👋👋
Signed.
4-seam is A KNIFE!!!!!!
You can make a song out of the beat!😂
I know the clock doesn't lie. But, I was a minor league pitcher in the 80s early 90s. I threw 92 mph and it sure seemed faster than this guy's 98. I threw next to Nolan Ryan in the bullpen, and HIS fb looked like 110 mph compared to these pitches. Maybe it's the camera angle. I'm just used to the glove exploding on fb's in the 90s on up.
Here's why it can be hard to tell velocity in videos.

Buena velocidad ❤❤❤❤😅
Sturdier footwear. Put that man in a pair of Adidas Superstars with the rubber toe. Watch his pitch-placement command increase!
