Isn't that a 30 cm Dvutone in b or a? If yes, it seems, as if you manipulated its sound. But why? I've got and play this wonderful instrument, too. Its unchanged sound is so much brighter and so much more beautiful, serene, peaceful and bell-like meditative....

Hi Annette. It's great to hear from a fellow Dvutone player! You have a keen ear - yes, the sound of the instrument was indeed adjusted for the video. The scale is still in B-Minor, just in a lower octave. Kosmosky tuned this one to A440 Hz and I changed it to bring all of the notes into a lower frequency range for a particular effect. The sound may give off a lower pitch sound, but the actual notes are still the same : )
The reason for manipulating the sound is often related to the therapeutic benefits of specific frequencies. In this case, lowering the frequency to the 200Hz range (which is what I did for this song) gives a more calming and grounding effect for me personally. Many practitioners of sound therapy and meditation find that these frequencies help induce a deeper sense of relaxation and focus. There is definitely a range of personal preferences for how pitches and frequencies resonate within the body.
I'm glad to hear that you enjoy the unchanged, brighter sound of your instrument for its serene and meditative qualities. Each tone and its variations can evoke different feelings and responses in listeners. The beauty of these instruments lies in their versatility and the personal connections we form with their unique sounds.
Feel free to explore different tones and techniques with your Dvutone - there's so much potential for creativity and expression! If you have any more questions or insights to share about playing this wonderful instrument, I'd love to hear them. Appreciate the listen and the comment : ) ~Alex Ray

@@rootrhythm Thank you very much for your very detailed answer! Now I can understand why you changed the sound of the Dvutone. Yes, the Dvutone offers so many different possibilities of playing and sounds, and so everyone can find out what is most beneficial and enjoyable for them! I, for example, like to bathe in chordal sounds, dissonances and consonances, which I usually play rather gently with my fingers.
